- What a night! For the first time ever, Roger Hodgson, legendary singer/songwriter and formerly of Supertramp, gave a concert at 4:00AM! Due to multiple plane delays that were out of his control, he arrived extremely late and people were waiting! The show must go on and on it went! A great night was had by all and memories were made to last a lifetime. What a connection Roger has with his fans! Here is this video, Roger is performing his classic, Give a Little Bit, which he wrote and composed when he was 19-years-old. The timeless, universal message is just as relevant today, if not more so, then when the song was released.
Roger not only gave us Give a Little Bit, but also other classics such as Dreamer, Take the Long Way Home, Breakfast in America, The Logical Song, Hide in Your Shell, Fool's Overture, School, It's Raining Again, and so very many more. Many people do not realize that although Roger and Supertramp's other co-founder shared writing credit, they actually wrote and composed separately with each singing their own songs.
You don't want to miss the opportunity to see him performing his timeless classics plus fan favorites from his solo albums. Roger performs in a variety of formats to include solo, with band, and with symphony orchestra. Roger is currently in the midst of his World Tour and selling out shows all over the globe in addition to receiving fantastic reviews from media and fans alike. "It may have been the BEST concert I have ever seen. Roger's voice is even better than it was when he was with Supertramp. My friends and I were blown away by your sheer talent. I would highly recommend anyone to go see Roger live if they can."
"Your music and more importantly, your enthusiasm for expressing your music to the audience is inspiring ! I felt that you sang each and every song with a passion ... not just a empty or bland repetition of sameness ! Thank for a wonderful evening !"
2 players, no backing, no autotune, no stupid dancers covering up, just a great song, sung by the guy who wrote it and his sax player filled a stage. Brilliant.
Great
Awesomeness at its best 😊
Raw real talent fantastic
I could not have said it more brilliantly that you, Andy.
The sound of a 12- string always does it for me.
out of the many rock stars who wrecked there life with drugs and the fast life this guy gets his high off of spreading happiness and cheer if even for a few hrs. great talent from a great musician
Supertramp hat für immer einen Platz in meiner Seele..
Total professional

Proud to be British🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Ruth Dulleck he’s from Swindon I think
He took all those years off and didn’t burn out his vocals. An amazing guy.
Ruth Dulleck he must be single.
Wow....we had the BEST music, right??!!!
Yes we did! The greatest music still to this day ❤️❤️
Where has all the good music gone. No auto tuning, just raw talent. I grew up with supertramp. Their songs inspired me.
true...
4.00am, not only flawless vocals and guitar but his saxophonist was also brilliant. This is one of my all time favourite youtube clips
it's simply impossible to describe how much Supertramp contributed to my generation. I listen to all kinds of music nowadays. But my angst-ridden teenage years were dominated by Supertramp, ELO and Pink Floyd. Wasn't a bad way to grow up...
bah, Left out Freddie. Will never forget the day I borrowed "a night at the opera" lp from the school library.
OK so good
@@DiZastur :-) you left out Genesis and Yes. All the way with you, brother
Same music groups for me
Ok,reskinof
Pretty much anyone else would cancel. Roger Hodgson performs at 4am. What a man.
Back in 1977 .Me and my girlfriend listen to this song and we both loved it. and the most of Supertramps songs . Today i am 65. Memories...........
his smile is so genuine it makes me so happy
Amazing.... 68 years old this year and his voice still sounds as powerful as it did 40 years ago.
I was on the front row when he sang this at one of his concerts, hand in hand with my wife. He gave us one of the warmest smiles. A lovely human being 👏👏
Wow, THAT'S real good music! No effects, no dancers, no ego trip...Just good old rock, with an ageless message! Awesome!
He is always so happy to be out there bringing joy to his audience. You can tell just by looking at him
Great point Sam Hutchinson. Everything about Roger = joy. What a band, what a front man. I love Led Zep and Jimi, but this dude gets in your kitchen. Like pancakes and bacon. Yum.
Sam Hutchinson
dennismp you hit the nail on the head.. I completely agree with you.
The charisma he radiates gets the crowd going everytime, he has never lost that pure love of music and that is what sets him apart from so many newer artists these days.
I met him in Dec. 2016 at our Hotel in Milwaukee. He is so kind and gentile that he is radiating warmth! Will see him in Oct. 2017!!
yes yes yesssssssss....
Wow , his voice held up pretty good over the years
+tfe423 He is like wine; he get better as time passes by.
+tfe423 Yeah his voice is amazing. It's still the same as it was 40 years ago. Incredible.
+tfe423 What an amazing voice, songwriter and performer.
I agree, his voice is still great!
Jesus is a mythical figure. This guy is actually human. Still believe in Santa?
Supertramp supergroup. Miss the 70s so much. ...and the 80s.
Absolutely wonderful. The fact that it's 4 AM and everyone was waiting makes it that much more precious. Way to go, Roger! Not a pretentious, egotistical bone in his body.
I could listen to this anytime, even at 4:00am in the morning and just sing along too...
Must have been some good shit before him to make this wait until 4am.
Find yourself were on our way back home !
I got turned on to supertramp in college in 1979...man this brings back good memories.
I just smiled for 5 minutes and 7 seconds straight! What a positive additude adjustment I received!
Class act and a true professional. Up all night on a white knuckle flight and still put on an authentic show of excellence. I wish I was there.
June 2020! No voice help; his voice is just, as it sounds on recording. Perfect. 👏

One of my all time favourite live performances
How can you not love this man’s voice?
Supertramp was a very addictive group in its day and still is.
The song performed live sounds better than the original. That's how you recognize a great musician!
Roger Hodgson .....brilliant and deserves so much more recognition for his songs........one of the best, but the logical song gets my 10 out of 10
You know how hard it is to play the guitar when it's freezing outside?
This song takes me back to my teenage years and still sounds great and makes me smile which the whole world needs to do in these uncertain times
Same as Steve 😁😁 I’m now 61
Ditto except that I am a couple of weeks off 67. I loved Supertramp. xxxx
Me too Steve I am 61
Que beleza!! Carismático, dono de uma voz inigualável!! Finíssimo, espetacular!!!! Sorriso encantador!!
That's pretty impressive. He just whips it out by himself and it sounds just like the record. That's talent.
What a sublime performance. Just a really good singer and his sax player, belting out a timeless classic. Sometimes less is more, folks.
Guitarist no good?

judging by the smile on my face, I love being entertained by a true talent.
this was our wedding dance 38 yrs ago . love it
Always loved Super Tramp. Good ole rock N roll. Just fun
Breakfast in America was a breath of fresh air in 79'.
Before my time but know every word i stumbled across this old classic enjoy it or don't
My grand daughter loves this tune. She is 6. Had to buy her the cd and a player to play it on. Blew my mind. She's like, "Papa you know this song"? I'm like hell yeah, grew up with this band in the day. LOL. Old Rock n Roll will never die!
Makes me smile!!!
I couldn't go back to see Supertramp without him. Just wouldn't be right.
What a Man. What a performer. To go on. he loves his fans. I love him
Absolutely wonderful. Great voice, great song, simply fantastic.
What a guy !!! Arrives late and STILL honors his followers with an amazing concert !
What’s amazing is the audience is waay younger than most of us who enjoy singing this song from our own youth
under 17.
love this song.
Here again ❤this will constantly remind me of my passed aunt. Uncle who loved these guys ❤
OMG, this guy is sooooo underrated! He comes from a GREAT band! He is a truly musician.
He was NEVER underrated....Supertramp was one of the best groups that came out of the 60's & 70's
+reichmuth 100 To some stupid people believe me yes! I love it. Never get tired. 💖
Me either💜💜💜
+reichmuth 100 Yeah!
LOL... Rock on forevermore Roger Hodgson 👍
Beautiful... people will look back in time and say Yeah , they had it good..
I'm entirely sure that the crowd must have thinned before Roger arrived. And for him to give his all for those who were still there, at such a late hour, is truly heroic. MUCH respect for him, the fans, and the tech crew.
Absolutely. I've got a Supertramp compilation somewhere and Give A Little Bit is one of my favourites but I don't know that much about the band. I doubt if many people would have blamed him for pulling out, especially when one considers that this show took place on the Faroe Islands, a fairly remote place with a small population. The fact that he went ahead with the show at 4 a.m. says a lot about his integrity as a person and as a musician. It also shows the deep respect he felt towards the Faroe Islanders themselves. The world needs more people like him.
Geoff Poole agreed :)
To be fair, he could sing the phone book and we would be happy. He truly is a force of nature. Not quite Jon Anderson but right up there with Pavorotti and maybe even the great Barry White.
@@geoffpoole483 Absolutely, thanks. There are 18 different islands in the Faroes and people had no doubt traveled from some of the remote islands to be there. It was great for him hold the concert despite the delays.
August 23, 2983. The best birthday present ever from my sister. Tickets to Alpine Valley, East Troy, Wisconsin. They were something... Super Tramp out doors
A natural outdoor theater, perfect for a music concert. The same one that Stevie Ray Vaughan died at...
I was a teenager when this came out. Never tire of hearing it.
@jackpast
As was I!!!
I can so vividly recall buying Even In The Quietest Moments, and listening to it constantly. Fantastic album...
me too, friend.
Me too
You know what that is? It‘s superb music!
I could listen to this anytime, even at 4:00am in the morning and just sing along too...xxxx
If you don't like this, don't talk go me a lot. Roger Hodgson you are the best! Keep doing what you are doing for as long as you can, and I will keep listening...
Voice is still as good as it was when I was a teenager growing up listening to SuperTramp
I played this for my niece. (She's 12). She told me "I like the original version better" Enter eye-roll here.... The GOO GOO DOLLS!!!!! UUGGHH!!!! Either I am WAAAAAY too old, or she is WAAAAAY too young! LOL Gotta love her!
Thanks for the love and support . I decided to take out time today out of my busy schedule to get close to my fans and know their thoughts towards my career and I came across you through my official UA-cam CHANNEL insight.
With all his Music, Roger Hodgson is double human being
brilliance is great in any setting.
Roger Hodgson is absolutely authentic, he can do everything he ever did live as good or better than the original
Fantastic. I love just his voice and 12 string. He sounds better here than on the studio (especially the guitar). Wonderful musicianship.
Magic Love this song.what a band 🎶🎶👍
Yeh he should've played IN the studio
The beautiful sound of a guild 12 string.
This guy seriously has a loving ❤️ heart a can feel it of him
Look at how young the audience is. This is glorious...Glorious. some of the world’s most beautiful rock music being passed through the generations. As a father who is about to introduce my 13-year-old daughter to Breakfast in America (different album, but, still) I can’t love this enough. Thank you for this.
A song plucked right from the center of Supertramp's incredible 1970's 4 album run: "Crime of the Century...Crisis What Crisis?...Even In The Quietest Moments...Breakfast In America"
I was in my prime (20's) and so were they.
So great to hear a a 70s singer with a voice thank you
wow, it's 40 years and 2 months since I saw Supertramp live - we were spoilt for choice with amazing prog rock bands then. I love the way RH is going strong at nearly 70yo and clearly still loving what he's doing
alan simon Roger gives us caring humans so much more than "a little bit".
4 in the morning! how great is that? this when the world was at peace with no corona virus and the world is in panic in 2020!

I cannot get over this unique performance. The combination of quality, sheer professionalism, context and content is breathtaking.
This song makes me cry...
Pure magic

See the man with the lonely eyes......priceless.....
Take his hand... you'll be so surprised
I love that song and that performance. Thank You so much for the music.
So wonderful. I just love this song.
Timeless, brilliant, a song for the times!
A master performer, composer , craftsman. Reminds me of me, if I was who I dreamed of being. Regretfully, dreams are great, but sleeping is wonderful. That is why I dream. So shut the front door!
PERFECTION!!!!
This mans voice and music should be a national treasure
Look at the audience...they know the music, they are singing the words, roger encourages this...by this his music will definitely last generations
still a great voice;and not even tuned down.
How could he still do this? He's brilliant such a talent this is fabulous.
Note perfect . Show me a current artist who can do this so flawlessly.
One of the most talented musicians in the world and certainly the most sympathetic! This song says it all... thank you Roger!
how did child of vision not make it to the charts in us it's awesome
So nice to see all the young people there. Truly universal music.
