I like the rims. That is one of my favorite gm designs. I’m an old school guy and I think older cars look better with a thicker side wall. I did the jeep xj shaft swap on my k5 blazer and it was awesome.
My late Stepfather had one of these with the T-Tops and leather seats. It was a very cool car and it was so sad when it was stolen from my brother. Gonna be a real thrill to see you rework this baby, Kyle!
I have an 86 SS i inherited when my grandpa passed. Spent this past winter rehauling the engine bay, deleting all the smog and went to non computer carb. Surprisingly my suspension is still tight as hell so no rebuild yet but damn yours is clean. nice job
I have an 84 GMC Caballero with a Rochester 4 Barrel corporator. With the factory 305 with smog. My question to u is how do I find out if I have a computer carb or non computer carb..
When these cars were new they handled second to NONE!!!! I bought a used one a few weeks ago that steers and handles like garbage It has after market springs and control arms on it and I am hoping it is an alignment issue. I am not sure why they changed from factory as I said these cars were a dream when new.
My year ones are in my little brother's garage still, I need to quit slacking and get my MCSS on the road. Mines an 87' T-top that iss black with gold decals and some of the light saddle interior still going to be putting it back to that for sure. I didn't know that combo existed from the factory until I saw mine, now I've seen one like mine in town in good shape that's was for sale not sure now though, I'm in Oklahoma.
Hey buddy! These rims make it's pop and look belong to the beautiful car! I'm soon to be 39 next month, so we're the 80s baby. Lol! Pretty much have the same taste, but I don't have much vehicles as you have now. I have 2. Keep up the great work and as always, see it on the next channel. 👍
Awesome video Kyle love those old Gm cars trucks I really strongly agree with you based on changeing everything from brakes to suspension components lines everything after for sitting along time it’s really worth takeing the extra time to do that so you know your self it’s good and last long time awesome video well detailed thumbs up and shared
Great video! I was wondering about the type of headers you have? I have an 86 SS and am in the process of doing some extra mechanical work. I have older headers on it but can't seem to make a decision on the type to get. I'll also be redoing the exhaust as well. It has a 355 in it now and it's mild. I ordered a new cam kit for it and am looking forward to getting it done. Would love to know where you got the headers from and any other advice you may have in that department. Love the steering column as well! Great job! Thanks!
Love the video! Very informative and im glad I watched to see those shocks! Finally someone putting something other the QA1 on their ride, not to down them just like to see other options. Off car subject may I ask what brand floor lift you’re using in this video?
Dude this thing looks so much better ! Maybe the previous owner had this thing looking like a DONK before you purchased it ?? Love what you did here bud
I use a combination of Duplicolor etching primer and Ford semi-gloss engine enamel. They're my go-to products for under-car and chassis parts. Pretty durable too!
Of course that would have been nice too, but I just couldn't justify the additional time and money for this one video. That would have to be in a separate video.
“If it were an hour, no one would watch it!”….. Derek from Vice Grip Garage…. “Oh, here, hold my cold snack…I know a 1944 Dodge that hasn’t run since 1965 because it blew a hole in the block and has 6 of 8 pistons left… I’m gonna fix on her and drive her 2,600 miles home in a blizzard” video is 1h 49min….. with 600,000 views…. Now, I’m not saying Vice Grip Garage is in any way better, or Kyle has “lost it”… but I do find it interesting that Kyle thinks an hour is too long and VGG fans can watch 6 videos in 8 hours and not get bored.
Apples to oranges. I haven't ever watched their vids, but I know my audience and what is typical from doing this 10+ years. I'm glad those channels can do that, but I could never do that on mine.

Excellent job Kyle on rebuilding the suspension and steering ball joints on this 36 year old car I enjoyed the video
I've always loved these old Monte Carlo SS.
My late Stepfather had one of these with the T-Tops and leather seats. It was a very cool car and it was so sad when it was stolen from my brother. Gonna be a real thrill to see you rework this baby, Kyle!
Looks so much better! I remember when you got the car and hot huge those tires were. Awesome work and great tip on the steering shaft.
Brian! Miss seeing your videos
That car sounds like a dream.
Love the old cars with the ball chiller down below.

Superb job! Mahalo for all that editing and keeping it short, too! It looks better on those wheels than it ever did when it was new.

Looks awesome, perfect ride height and love the wheels👍
I had no clue these guys were akin to the S10, awesome

These new builds are awesome 👌
So glad to see a SS saved. Had two aero coupes in the past. What a mistake to sell them
Man love this car. I just picked up an 88 SS T-Top
OReillys: "Hi Kyle, what do you need?" Kyle: "Yes. All of it." LOL. Thanks for another great video on this really cool car!
badass car, those wheels and lowering completely changed the look

AMAZING!!!. Bud, your'e an experience.
Really liked the classic style cam in the passenger seat like hearing you drive
Loving this thing Kyle, you've got great taste!
You are my hero!! Excellent choice of wheel. Very period correct but nicer.
Forgot to give an extra thumbs up.

I Always check out your videos when you use to do reviews on cars I did not know you knew how to work on cars like that Dope 💪🏽

Has the same ride height as mine! I love it!!
I never heard that steering shaft. Going to order one for my s10. Good looking out!
Congratulations 🍾 this is one of my favorite cars
I have an 03 SS M.C.
258,462 miles. Love your video.
Hay Kyle love Monte and love the rims I would definitely powder coat them in a dark gray or charcoal color that would make them very unique 😁👍
Super clean Gbody. I love this channel 😂 👍🏾
Nice work Kyle!
Dave
I like how you treat your car
I would love to see an in depth video!!!
more to learn

Hello, I have the same steering shaft, I was just wondering did you notice more play side to side when driving?
Kyle u doing a great move by going away from newer cars thats full of computer and electrical problems
How much did you lower it? I just bought a 84 completely stock and mint. I want to bring it down 2" all around
Dude this thing looks so much better ! Maybe the previous owner had this thing looking like a DONK before you purchased it ?? Love what you did here bud
What product did you use to paint the underneath? Looked like it turned out really good
I use a combination of Duplicolor etching primer and Ford semi-gloss engine enamel. They're my go-to products for under-car and chassis parts. Pretty durable too!
You've done some good works to that car.
Nice work, it looks much better.
Happy Thanksgiving Kyle! I Hope You Have Fun At Thanksgiving! :)
Amazing! Thanks for sharing this with us! Cheers!
if you upgraded the fronts why not do the same for the rear.. If it were me i would have converted the rear to disc. just my thoughts looks good.
Of course that would have been nice too, but I just couldn't justify the additional time and money for this one video. That would have to be in a separate video.
Looks great! Hope there is a drum conversion in the works to change out for disc? Stay safe and be well.
Not at this moment, we'll see how things go later on.
What size tire did you get for the year one rims? Also, do they come with the white letters?
Love the build !!!
Did you consider tall ball joints to correct a geometry issue these cars have?
Did you get the upper lower control arms from orielly also?
Things take time it's worth it in the end
Could you add Corvette component to the suspension for better handling does Chevy make aftermarket for these year Montecarlo.
Love it. Keep them coming!
I can only imagine how quick my restoration would go too with an O’Reilly Auto expense account 😎 Jealous!
Looks awesome Kyle
Another excellent video! Top notch.
G-Body. Great video. Like the car. Monte Carlo SS.
Cool Video Saabkyle04 stay safe out there in North Carolina 👍
Job well done. Better get it registered and insured.

I'm not doing anymore house videos, too personal at this point.
What part number are those lower control arms?
Nice Monte 👍

It's been awhile since I stopped by your channel, Kyle. You're looking a bit rustic with the beard. Going to seed...?
Need some more Malibu vids
I Like Buick Regal Turbo Totally Amazing Badass Modern Muscle Car 80s ☺

Klassik!
You should have used a 16 inch wheels for a more factory look.
Maybe, just maybe I did what I did because that's what I wanted to do lol.
Sort of agree but limited tire choice.
👍
Do you want to sell the stock rims?
any cereal marshmellow fans here?
I think it’s illegal to drive that without a mullet.
I should order a mullet wig then lol
umm, can i have it ?
