Did the job justice, unlike Lazy Peon. Gw2 has so much more respect for your time, its amazing, where most MMO's lost their soul, this one still has it.
Yes it has some kind of respect for your time in some points is disrespectful, for example there's 3 tipes of pvp armor in Gw2 if you want the glorious one you need to reach rank 100, once you rich that is not enough you will need to buy the first full set to unlock the one you want, on top of that if your gold is legendary armor and you buy the full set you can't change the stats or use the armor bicose it will no longer a legendary precursor, one day I get a precursor from the mistic forge and I find that it was no longer a precursor bicose I unlock the skin of the weapond I don't think this is a way that the player is gona feel that time maters for arenanet bicose this sistem is just to make you lose somthing very cool or expensive in the most painful and dumb way posible In most cases the amount of haurs, farming, all that's need to be done to get there, wen you get what you want the wipe was gone bicose the game burnt you aut, and you hate your self bicose you did it And you realize that your time it really doesn't mater for mmo developers they just want you to givethem your money and keep you playing waisting your time in real life

What i Always Most liked about the Hearts, where the multiple choices you Had for completing them, Sure, you can basicly clear (almost?) All Hearts in the Game with Just Killing Mobs, but you have Always some other Options which will Fill the bar way faster than Just Killing Mobs, you can even Mix All Things together, which is a big Part of why im still Not tired doing Hearts in queensdale(Not playing in Englisch sry, First human map), even after 11years😅
I miss this game so much, what a wonderful world, and terrific community. Idk what the next great mmo will be but I hope it steals shamelessly from Gw2. You did great on discussing why you loved it then and still love it now :). Terrific stuff.
You know, I've been looking for a game with rich lore since we're about to lose Wrath of the Lich King a second time and I can't believe I never realized GW2 was sitting right in front of me this whole time
I promised myself not to come back to gw2 until exploration is account wide and not only on character. I am so fed up with exploring the world over and over and over again. If this never happens, I am never gonna go back I guess.
For me it was the total opposite. I was an absolute fan of guild wars and the second version disappointed me so much that i will never replay it again :/
Really enjoy the game but im having trouble playing , the human race is so boring and the others look jank , love the asura but despise playing a tiny race lol... so im conflicted... on top of that no idea what class to play. Ive heard it does not matter but then i try to simply look up what class is for what its like guardian and necromancers and rangers lol
Unfortunately your initial point about core GW2 and the world being "different" every day. The game has almost completely moved on from this style of event structure. Once you hit Living World Season 2, you will see that most overworld shifts are real world time based and major events that in the past may have changed the world if failed, are never failed. They were never failed so much in fact that ArenaNet has chosen to mostly remove this style of event chain from the game. With SoTO, I can not honestly recall an event that when failed does anything more than delay the meta-chain by a few minutes.
I am still leveling but curious to experience what this game has to offer later. Horizontal progression is much better than vertical and well.. Any of the big MMOs aside from GW2 can't really call their new content expansions, they're straight up different games that make the old stuff obsolete. Hoping this will work differently here.
I also love the game BUT past 7000 hours, I find it tedious to play due to lack of horizontal content (farmed all legendaries I needed) or vertical. (it could still have vertical progression in some zones, like fractals which just requires easily-acquirable gear and you farm it daily for gold)
I'm also at 505 mastery. Near 2k rank in wvw and usually at gold in arena. The changes to wvw made it less meaningful. Gear is too easy to get so legendary is the only value for the ability to change stats only. Arena is plagued with imbalances (some classes are God tier and others trash)
For me it’s gimmicky it’s frustrating that there’s no real class identity there’s no reason to level up because I’m a pvp player mostly and I hate the downed mechanic I just honestly can’t ever see the appeal and I’ve tried. The worst part it feels like a single player game.
so the game is not for you. i love the game, because the openworld aspect. no other mmorpg can bring a large scale event in openworld with so many players participate. i've recorded some of my gameplay if u want spoiler and want to give it another chance
I'll just say the game is not for you, though I'm a bit confused by your reasonings. The downed mechanic is a matter of personal preference of course, but the "lack of class identity" is not one I've heard before - Every class in GW2 is very different. And yeah, if you're just doing PvP, unless you plan on going into WvW, there isn't much reason to level up.
These games lasting 10+ to 20+ years has stunted the growth of the genre massively. Allowed Arena net and blizzard to just be lazy and never make anything new. Kind of sad. Just milking the games for all they're worth.
Just like every MMO ever - even subscription MMOs like WoW and XIV have cash shops. Doesn't mean it's a good thing of course, but like at this point you're criticising online games in general more than GW2.
@@FoulPet I mean I'm old enough to own to original physical copy of GW2, I owned all 5 PlayStation's when they were in their primes, I have the Original GameBoy and DS consoles, including the limited edition Pikachu GameBoy colour, so maybe try not to make assumptions on my age. But my point is merely that what you're saying is a criticism of the genre moreso than a criticism of the game. I'm not saying it's good - I'm just saying that your statement refers to almost every game these days. Though as far as microtransactions go, GW2 has the benefit of being one of the *less* predatory cash shops. Any cash shop is a bad cash shop, but I've seen far worse.
@lj_aderyn the game is ok. The micros bring it down to mediocre. Without buying ridiculous stuff, you're gimped. I started a couple of months before the recent expansion. Brought all the other expansion and a few quality of life upgrades. Have 13+ character ATM. Even brought a second account on sale. Now, I haven't even completed the mission to get the new weapons. I find the world bland and the game tedious and boring. I'm past the initial newness, and IMHO enjoyed WoW better when I played it long ago. After hearing what WoW is now, I have no interest. The content is either ridiculously easy or ridiculously difficult. I've been unable to find a middle ground. There is no real content for people till endgame. The more content they add, the more it splits up the player base in zones.
@@FoulPet I'll respectfully disagree. Aside from story content there's nothing you need to buy with money - even then the story is optional. As for levelling process, I enjoy it - it's far better than others, but obviously that's entirely subjective. But if it's just not for you then that's fine. Hope you find something you enjoy.
gw2 is a great game. Every time I come back I get sucked in. I've been playing New World recently, which is different but pretty great as well. One difference? The women are WOMEN in GW2. They've gone out of their way in New world to make the women ("body type") to look as unsexual or unwomanly as possible. It's a little thing, but also a big thing in the end.
Nope, not worth it this 2024, outdated. Anet just want your money. If you will report a players whos being disrespectful or harass you, they don't do shit. But if its about something that hurts their income like sending gold to friends or other players then they banned you with no further explanation. Take my advice guys look for other games or regret.
Worst new player experience in mmos. Bought two expansions, started to play, finished first map - deleted the game and never coming back. Just awful experience. Untill level cap, all you do in game is completing maps and doing quests, which by the way is soooooo slow that you can literally fall asleep. Finishing the map on 100% is so much pain, never had that felling in ANY mmo out there. Character progression is so hard to understand, you literally can't understand anything for dozens of hours. Same with instanced pve - u just won't understand anything without hours of google and UA-cam searching. No way anyone who respects their time will do any of that. Worst mmo for fresh start. It is baseline unplayable unless you ready to spend hours of finding information and watching videos, which is not that easy to find. The whole time playing you feel lost and don't understand what the hell is going on and what are you supposed to do. Have some respect for yourself and don't start this mess
????? Every mmo requires a bunch of time from you to grind for gear. But in GW2 you only need to get Ascended or Legendary gear once and you are good forever. And that gear is account bound so your alts can use it
time gated grind fest ??? for what ? you can litterly get full exotic armor 2 days after reaching lvl 80 for ascended gear you can just get that from the countless modes of the game for free or you can craft it with mats by time once you got the armor you dont need to change it almost forever
