Circuits Anonymous unfortunately they connected my G1100 thru Ethernet and I am having difficulty getting it to work. I searched some forums and found it to work if I send my internet to my Linksys AC1900 first, then Ethernet to the G1100 which give it a red blinking. It's connected confusingly and I have upload speeds at 100mbps but my download is around 20 wired and 70 wireless. Any suggestions or work around for this to get to my max 100?
This was the most detailed video I've seen on this topic. Really wish I could put it in slow motion cause I've had to rewind a bunch of times lol. thank you for the post
I have a frontier router/modem combo for internet only and this video is exactly what I was looking for. I'm want to setup mesh wifi and needed to know how to use it with frontier equipment. I hope it works
Thanks for your video. I am having an issue with the ISP. I use the tvbox to stream TV news. My ISP advised that there were so many port forwarding on the ISP modem/router. I checked my computer with McAfee Live and Malwarebytes, but there was no issue detected. I am wondering if the port forwarding request will stop or not track by the ISP after installing the router between the ISP modem/router and my tvbox. Would you please advise?
Hey man nice video. Just what I was looking for. One question, I live in Alaska and my DSL provider gave me a modem/router combo too and I just bought the Google WiFi. Do I have to do the same in order to use the Google WiFi??
Howdy, I have Centurylink DSL Internet. I have been using their Actiontec modem. I recently purchased a Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 and would like to use it to get better wireless signal in my single wide trailer. I do not know how to make my ISP communicate with my new router. Can you help me?
I also have Fios TV. Do you as well and if so would this cause any problems? Also, right now I'm using the wan port in addition to the coax. Should I unplug the wan port?
If your doing this setup, you would need one Ethernet cable running from the Quantum Router to your personal Router. It shouldn't matter which one you pick.
What do I do with the ethernet cable that is plugged into my wan port on my Fios router? I noticed you don't have anything there. Right now I'm using my Netgear as a wap so I have an ethernet cable running from the Fios router into the Internet port on my netgear.
Worked great up to Firewall > IPV6 settings > Minimum Security (Low). It will not allow me to select this (red X on selection point). I'm guessing this is my ISP catching on? Can I keep it at "Typical Security"?
I did have a convo with them not too long ago about using a 3rd party router and their reply was "you're going to have purchase our 'experienced tech support' subscription for further assistance on these matters. It's only $4.99/mth extra"...... Apparently there's a Final-form tech support group if you want need assistance on certain subjects.
You might be able to get by without changing it. Also the ISP may have released new firmware for the device without telling you, which may affect the tutorial. Good luck either way!
Our internet provider gave us a horrible single band asus router our previous provider gave us a 2.4 ghz and 5ghz dual band router the internet now is crap buffering cutting out no more game play on ps4 not even a full movie streamed to the tv now watching videos on you tube if we set up our old router with our new provider will we get dual band again....?

Question can you recommend a box for the Verizon coax to connect to?
How do I easily swap a router if my other one is better than the one provided, or is it locked?

Potential Step-Dad you have to enter the advanced settings and click ipv6 then enabled it to get it to work, then get back to it in the firewall
What about if I have a fiber line can I just plug the fiber line in to the wan port on my nighthawk? I have Verizon as well
