In India, mung bean and sometimes other lentils are soaked and ground with other ingredients to make a a dish called "chilla" which is like an omelette. You can add many things including black salt (Kala namak) which gives it an eggy smell/taste.
That's probably much healthier though since it's less processed
In North india its called 'childa'

because he looks unhealthy so most people won't want his advice. Naturally humans tend to value the advice of those who seem better than us in specific categories. If someone is skinny and pale like Mic, someone looking to better their health, especially a man trying to bulk up, won't trust him unless they're in a worse situation themselves.
@@Silver-Freddy then why are you looking at his videos and his responses 🤣 Its quite narrowminded of you all to judge like that I have been pale my whole vegan en non vegan life. I actually have more skincolour now than back in the days and I used to have anemic problems and since plantbased never anymore. I have no skin problems any more no more hayfever..crazy energy and much more. You can only judge if you compare your bloodwork to his. These are videos with certain lights and camera's used. So complexion says nothing. All he does is provide is scientific proved information. No need to get personal because that proves nothing. If 1 meateater is anemic or dying of a heart attack..which they do...you should judge just as narrowmindedly about that 1 person for all meateaters like you do this person. But you probably don't so this is probably interesting you and hitting a sensitive nerve at the same time. Or you are just bored and looking to cause trouble. There hasn't been a better time to be vegan than now!!!
Try soaking 1/2 cup or more of split mung beans (moong dal at any Indian market) in 6x water overnight, drain, and rinse (eliminates some of the beany flavor) Throw it into a blender with enough plant milk to get a loose pancake consistency, then add in your favorite seasonings, a bit of nooch, a TBS of tapioca starch, enough turmeric to color it, and kala namak (eggy black salt). Mix in some veggies if you want an omelet, and cook in a nonstick pan. (You can also add some crumbled tofu to the pan to provide the white of a scrambled egg). Not too shabby and so cheap and easy!
Thanks! Will try it. Mung beans are just sooo healthy and delish!

I got a little carried away in the details here and didn't go as practical as I could have. My goal was to take a level-headed look at ingredient risk and I was happy to show that some of these scary sounding ingredients are not scary but that doesn't mean they are all healthy. Of course it is up to the individual to decide whether to eat it or not based on their risks, goals, etc. I personal view this product as healthier than other products with an ingredient list this long and you now know how I feel about it compared to eggs. I never missed eggs as a vegan so I won't be eating this often but I don't think those that regularly eat it should be shamed. That is more or less the commentary that was missing from the video. Very informative, thanks!
Thanks. This seems well investigated, analysed, clearly presented. 👏💐. Yes, why not add B12, good idea. I myself don't see a need for an egg substitute though in my non vegan days I did enjoy omlette occasionally, quiche rarely... but I know people, non vegetarians, with diabetes, blocked artery, hypertension etc. who love eating eggs regularly so for them this would be useful. Shall share at once.
One thing I read/heard somewhere (probably from Dr. Klaper): eggs do have hormones too, which like those of dairy can be disruptive. If it is significant I think that should be mentioned: speaking of eggs usually only the saturated fat and cholesterol are mentioned as dangers. Good to see protein, 4gm luceine, discussed.
Thanks for another very good video.
you need animal foods to make the vitamin and minerals in plants bio available. That's why every tribe ever has always cooked meat with veg together and why no tribe survives on vegan meals. It's inhumane to think that's fair to your body
I have a local discount foods store called P&R, and got a case of this for $3. Haven't tried it yet.
Score! We got some healthier non dairy dairy things like that for a penny apiece. I thought they had mismarked until finally the person just writes down one and the scent mark because they were trying to do it with decibels and they messed up. But while they were figuring it out with my partner I was filling a box with every single one of everything and so we had milk products creamers, vegan margarine with cold-pressed oil as opposed to heated solvent extracted like regular grease. I got soy yogurts non-GMO in the big gallon I believe they are those big buckets I think I got 50 Penny apiece I also got minimally processed coconut a few were flavored the rest was just non-flavored also a penny apiece so we went out with his massive cart full of stuff for $22 or something and it was added up to what it was at the regular store and it was literally hundreds of dollars for 20 something or way less? my partner is hearing me use voice to text and they're saying it was way less as a penny apiece a hundred items are a dollar so I guess it was just a few bucks for hundreds of items and luckily they lasted for forever we finished it without even trying and nothing went bad. Luckily there's a fridge at the shop so that's my exciting story of getting things for a penny apiece. They had just marked it or we wouldn't have gotten it and I actually got what is the fake cheese? It reminds me of the word violet anyway we got a bunch of that and another brand the other brand had the better melty kinds of cheese but the one that the Violet name had a smoked one that wasn't a chunk and that was tasty! Like you could have put that on toothpicks with cheese eaters and they wouldn't have known that that was a cheese. I myself have never eaten animal products. I was born allergic and by 3 years old. I liked the point at people's plates and say dead chicken dead cow. It was very hard growing up but now I'm 56 and still vegan. The amount of pesticides and herbicides that have been sprayed around here lately, which is illegal around our condo is killing me. I am allergic to all foods right now and everything's infected. That's really disappointing for a person who hasn't had a virus since they were a baby. Anyway that's a really long way of saying I got a good deal for a penny. And also I don't miss these things because I never eat them. But when I was about four I remember tasting a bite of somebody's mushroom egg foo young the egg gag me to no end but I loved the MSG beansprout part with the mushrooms and the gravy that was made out of mushrooms they were vegetarian but not vegan. Ever since then I've wanted to make egg foo young so 56 years later I might buy some of that just to make egg foo young once
hope you enjoy it!

@@johnferradino Yeah. It's insane some of the deals you get there. You can get stuff like the seitan you find on store shelves for $5, or more, for less than a buck. Thanks so much For your knowledge and encouragement. I really enjoy an omelette Sunday mornings. Now I can toss real eggs for good and feel better about using this alternative.
Hello buty
this kind of thing can be incredibly helpful
Yes, please try to recreate it.
Definitely check out Sauce Stache on yt ;) He has made both the homemade "just egg" and the "oatly" milk!
Thx, Mic! Just eggs sounds like a good breakfast alternative to oatmeal or blueberry pancakes when omnivore friends and relatives come for a stay.
Those Korean Mung Bean cakes you mentioned also sound interesting. Used to scramble mung bean sprouts in with eggs back in my omnivore days. Would be fun seeing you whip up your version of Just Eggs, too. Thx for the vid! 🌱
I was SO excited when the Just Egg came to Ontario, Canada! One thing I used to really love when I was a carni was my omelettes. When I make my Just Egg Omelettes I add 1Tbsp of corn starch and it turns out great. I only have these maybe once a month so I'm not too concerned about any potential negative health effects, which as you pointed out. There aren't any.
But a lot of plastic waste
