For my oatmeal, I make in the blender a smoothie of 5.3oz (150g) frozen cherries, half a brazil nut (for my selenium needs), a little date syrup, and enough water to fill the blender up to 500ml. I then divide this between 3 jars which each contain about 1.5 ounces (45g) of oatmeal, plus a teaspoon of whole buckwheat groats. I mix it up in each jar, pop on the lids and place in the fridge. Then I have the base of my breakfast ready for the next 3 mornings. Each morning before eating I add one tablespoon of ground flax seeds, and about 1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds. (If you add the flax seeds earlier it kind of goes slimy, but not if you add them just before eating. If you add the pumpkin seeds fresh too, they stay nice and fresh and crunchy). This is a very quick and filling breakfast that keeps me going all morning, without needing any snacks.

Fun fact: When you eat a significant amount of carbohydrates and fat together you activate a biochemical process that is known as the Randle Cycle wherein fatty acids within the cells will block glucose from being metabolized. This glucose will then remain in the bloodstream where it damages red blood cells and endothelial vascular cells. This effect can last for several hours following a meal containing fat and carbs and if regularly activated can lead to chronic systemic inflammation and the diseases that come with it (CVD, cancer, diabetes, etc.) It is a bit more complicated than that but the moral of the story is do not eat oatmeal topped with nut butter.

my father, who mainly eats meat, dairy and eggs with very minimal veggie consumption (my mother forces him to eat at least some) has awful health (he needs to take a butt-ton of meds just to function) because of the way he eats. He has high cholesterol and his doctors, who are in NO WAY vegan nor vegetarian, keep on telling him to cut back on animal products, ESPECIALLY eggs and dairy, because they're literally a cholesterol bomb. Meanwhile I've been on a Whole Plant Based Diet for years and my blood tests and health are spectacular, I haven't got sick ever since, not even a cold. I can't fricking believe Mr. TikTok Cardiologist is out there saying "eggs are healthy and good don't care for cholesterol just trust me bro". And people just blindly believe that because they want positive affirmation to their bad eating habits. Gaddamn.

I agree with the cardiologist. Human body is not a body made for consumption of grains and seeds. We have a digestive tract meant to eat other animals and animal products. We are meant to eat the "stuff we are made of" - protein and fats. Regardless, oatmeal and carbohydrates in general are bad for metabolic health - hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, etc. That doesn't occur with LCHF diets.

It seems there is sugar in everything you eat and drink these days, especially in the US diet. Some European countries are just starting to introduce sugar taxes.
