A little bit of everything back there Wes lol . I like seeing the wildcats and coyotes . Wow a whole family of hogs even Littlins .. you ever get lost back there? Have a great weekend Wes
Thanks Ryan!! For me it's the fact that all this wildlife is just a mile down the road.....It really shows that the health of the Refuge in very good shape!!😎
Looks like great locations for your webcams even if you have to battle the mosquitos to check them. Nice daytime and nighttime captures. I enjoyed in full to the end. Thank you, my friend.
I see you have 4 cameras out there. Its always exciting to see what's on them especially after you let them sit that long. You definitely have lots of critter out there.
Thanks Rande!! I've got one near the house and that one gets Bobcats and Raccoons!! It takes me almost 2 hours just to get thru the 4 cameras in the swamp and just about every time I manage to get myself wounded.....My legs have scars all over them because of all the sticks and debris that I miss in my travels!!😎
Sweet captures. Nice to get out for an early morn walk in the refuge. Cool to see the deer, we get a lot around here too..such a different forest your way...neat to see how adaptable they are.
Thanks!! This swap is a lot different from living in Virginia and North Carolina but it has a great variety and diversity compared to my former homes up north!!
DMP....Thanks!! That PUP is a bit skittish without MOM.....Those IR red eyes really put that dog on the skids.......I thought that the spider was being Xrayed!!
Thanks Ryan!! It did.....I mentioned to another subscriber the spider looked as if it had been Xrayed by the IR affect....Something new for me to see.....LOL!!😎
Hey Wes, you had a battle with skeeters. I'm dealing with skeeters the size of sparrows. Those big-azz tiger-striped skeeters came shortly after hurricane Debby. Full-watch. Don 👍🏽🤠 09/06/24
Thanks Don!! I need to leave a vapor trail of RAID in the swamp.....I usually have to drop by the hospital for an IV.....I get dizzy losing all that blood to those monsta skeeters....LOL!!
Thanks Lee!! I'd like to see some bucks this year and the bears again.....But i really enjoy my trips into the swamp.....It's an amazing place back there!!
Thanks John!! I don't know about Donkeys but you sure ride some of these Hog Bodies if you don't mind getting Tusked........There are critters running around all over the place out here!!
@WesLovelace yeah, I've been chased up a tree by hogs before, those tusks are scary. Swamp donkey is what we call them really big swamp bucks. They got a different look than regular deer here in Florida.
By December the temps down here usually have changed considerably both air and water!! By then the fish have started to migrate into the warmer creeks and rivers that are all Spring fed and maintain a temp of about 72.2 degrees. Usually the Gulf maintains a temp of around 60 to 65 degrees and the fish can be caught both with live and artificial baits. To effectively fish these back country areas you really need a guide to navigate these very treacherous areas because of the lime rock bottom and because all the big tides that we have during the summer months disappear. Now I generally use soft plastics and small suspending twitch baits in places well off the Gulf because the fish migrate to the warmer waters. You can rent Kayaks and boats on most of the Rivers around here then it becomes a guessing game as to where to fish. Near me here in Bayport there is the Weeki Wachee River, Jenkins Creek and the Mud River......All have freshwater origins and have limited land access. Farther north of me is the Chassahowitzka River ....Then the Homosassa River followed by Crystal River. Now there are plenty of freshwater lakes but I've got very limited knowledge of these bodies of water since I haven't fished them in years!! Hope this give you some starting points in this area!!😎🎣
Thanks Wayn!! If you can stand the skeeters the exercise is worth the walk.....I'm bundled from head to toe so I don't have to have a blood transfusion.....LOL....When the internet comes back on you can watch the video again.....LOL.....Have a great weekend!!
Thanks John!! Usually about once a month but here lately changing the cards has turned into about 2 months.....I've got about 150 sq. miles of swamp to choose from.....This place is amazing to walk around in as long as you don't mind the Skeeters trying to bleed you dry......LOL....Sea Ya!!
Good stuff! Such a unique swamp ecosystem!!!
Morning Nathan.

Great looking refuge, thank you for sharing! Any tips for fishing in that area in early December?
