Thanks Victor!! Talking tackle.....Today I was in Wall Bay north of the house and an estimated 40lb Bull Shark managed to hook up with my 808 BG No.17 Mirrodine and the 10 lb. Ande Tournament Green Mono on a 6 ft. Kunnan Rod and 30 lb. Ande Tournament Green Mono Leader....It took me 25 minutes in 3 feet of water to get this critter to the boat and pull the lure from the side of the mouth.....First C/R of a fish this size on light tackle!!
Thanks Dave!! Here lately I'm running the coast in the dark to get in position to catch Redfish, Snook and Trout in the dark before sunrise.....Managed a 23 " Redfish yesterday just before sunrise!!😎
Some nice Red Gals you got today Wes . I’m willing to bet Those that get caught up in the mangrove must be tricky for anyone that isn’t a pro like yourself ! Nice manatee pup at the end . Seeing them is always my favorite! Have a great weekend
Thanks Ryan!! Seems a lot of the Reds and Snook are taking a nap under the bushes lately.....But if you're going to catch em you have to go where their hiding.....LOL!!
Thanks Rob!! Back at it this morning although all the stuff in front of the house might chase me off the water!! We've gotten so much rain the back country water is ink black and most of the catches have been along the outside edges.....I noticed that all 3 manateez had prop scars.....They are beautiful swimmers and I wish people would slow down!!
With them short strike fish on top water would it matter to change to Extra Wide Gap (EWG) Hook and a soft plastic so it would sink just below the surface and not sink any lower
Thanks Rande!! Since moving down here I make every effort to stay out of the sun during the daylight hours.....The magic word is Cancer and I've got a lotta years left to keep snagging fish.....LOL!!
DMP......Thanks!! I've been taking advantage of the dark big tides in the AM and the cloudy weather for 4 straight days......I've had some great action including a C/R Bull Shark of 35/40 lbs. on light tackle in Wall Bay!!
Had a good day myself yesterday on the reds, didn't matter what I threw at them bait or lure they hit it. Also saw a bunch of manatees, every one of them had prop scars, a sad thing to see.
A nice day on the water, Wes. I haven’t been able to fish in over a month, I had to lend my truck to my son and I am getting fishing withdrawal symptoms. 😅
Thanks J!! Today I had a first....An estimated 40 lb. 5 ft. Bull Shark grabbed my Mirrodine and proceeded to drag me around Wall Bay.....After about 35 minutes I managed to get this critter to the boat and remove the treble hook.....That's a new record for me!!😎🎣
Look like a nice time on the water fishing.
Thanks Wayn!! Here lately the Reds have been hanging out in the skinny water around the outside islands and I'm taking full advantage of the bite!!
Very good fish, thanks for sharing and have a nice day 👍
Thanks Nature Flowers!! The Redfishing has been reel good here lately on the Florida Nature Coast......Enjoy your week!!
man i love these sceneries. I wish it was just a 6 hour drive or something manageable... I really wana try this with my ultralight tackle..

Lovely water after the sunrise and some nice Redfish. I enjoyed in full to the end. Thank you, my friend.

Those Reds were pretty Wes and it's always cool to see some Manatees cruising!👍

You sure like getting up early to see those sunrise Reds. I use to hit the lakes before sunrise, but I'm liking my sleep in my old age.

That is some good redfish action! Gorgeous looking fish. Nice outing in the refuge!!
Thanks Henri!! Summertime is tough with the hot water and heat.....But I just keep plugging along in search of the bite!!
Nice calm morning looks like glass .. nice red 👍🏻

Thanks Clifford!! The inside water is as black as coal.....Nothing back there but the outside edges have been producing a decent bite up there😎

Wow, hope the camera was going.
that catfish was very cool looking
Thanks John!! You can never tell what's chewing out here on the salt.....There are lots of unique critters around here!!
Nice Reds, Wes. That multi-spotter had some side spots too.
Thanks Dug!! The outside bite has been picking up because because of all the dark water coming out of the swamp.....I'm definitely enjoying the bite!!
I reckon them redfish were determined to serve u up a side salad with your fish dish dinner.
How’d you lose the push pole?
Thanks Marc!! The outside edges have been producing here lately.....The fish haven't been reel large but they are keeping my attention!!
