  • I have fibromyalgia which is a chronic pain condition. By sharing this video I wanted to first raise awareness about fibromyalgia but also to talk about how it affects my daily homesteading life.

Hi from south Alabama! I just watched your video. I can relate to u in SO many ways, actually with everything u said. I have had fibromyalgia for many years. It drastically changed me and my life (in some no so good ways). I deal with it daily and like u said…some days are good and some days are really bad. Even after all these years there’s still ppl that don’t believe me or that it’s even a real thing. I’ve tried numerous medications (script and over the counter), herbal remedies, it has changed my eating and drinking, activity level, it’s made me older than my actual age. I’m 52 and some days I get around like I’m 80 yrs old. I’ll continue to watch for more videos from u. U have a ton of courage, I see how brave u are, and that has inspired me a lot. Maybe making this video will liberate u some and help u along your journey. I’d luv to see more videos! It can be bout homesteading, fibromyalgia, or both. I believe there’s a reason your video popped up when it did…..I NEEDED TO HEAR WHAT U SAID AND U SAUD UT VERY WELL! Take care.

Hi Tracy, Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m very sorry that you suffer with fibro too. I know why they “named” folks with fibro “warriors” because know once else could possibly deal with this…
Your support means so much to me and I’ll send positive thoughts your way for “better days”
      Thank you 😊

I also have fibromyalgia and it’s very hard to live with. It has changed my life completely! I as well love to can food ,love to garden love to be outdoors. It’s very hard now but I would never give it up !some days. I just don’t want to think about the pain. I wanted to go back to the way it was before I had fibromyalgia! I too have tried different medicines and nothing does work, but it does take the edge off. my daughter told me the other day, that I’m not the same and I’m not but I’m trying real hard. I found your channel today at a time where I am at a low spot, and if anybody would ever even know me before I’ve always been a very happy go lucky person, but for the last three months I’ve been dealing with pain in my knees! Just had surgery! God is still good. God is with me every day and we will get through this. I’m so glad I found your channel and when I’m listening to you talk, I can hear myself saying the same things. God bless you and I hope you have a pain-free day. Thank you for sharing that meant a lot to me now enough of that. I love your pantry tour and I’m enjoying your videos.

I just found your channel and will be praying for you. My Mama also had this awful condition. There are times that I think I may also have it but have not been diagnosed with it. I commend you for all the things you are doing on your homesteead and continuing to embrace life. Hang in there! May the Lord continue to bless and heal you.

Hi Colleen, just found your channel and WOW, I could have made this video myself! I'm 57 and have had fibromyalgia since I was 25, no one had even heard of it back then, also spinal stenosis, sacroiliac joint dysfunction with tailbone pain. Gardening is my passion as well, especially after losing my 23 yr. old son 8 yrs. ago, it is my place of comfort and occupies the mind. There are days I literally crawl through the garden, mine is all in raised beds but that isn't much of a help although it does cut way down on weeding. I too have tried it all, just last week I started magnet therapy (PEMF) I am hoping it helps a bit, I will let you know if it does. Big hugs to you, you have a new subscriber ♥

Hello Carmen, my sincerest sympathies on the loss of your son…I can’t begin to imagine. It’s amazing how we (fibro folks) can relate and empathize so easily with each other. I almost feel like it’s finding a long lost friend! I’m sorry you suffer so badly with fibromyalgia and your other ailments. At least we can find joy in our gardens. There’s a saying I saw awhile ago:
Gardening is a place where I find myself when I want to lose myself
      Take care!

I've had Fibro 25+ years. I'm 71, and also have diabetes. They didn't think Fibro was a progressive illness, but it actually is, and has been for me. Like you, I am in pain all the time. It's always at the top of my calf right at the bend of my leg. So, I now walk with a cane. It's hard. I crochet a lot. I've given up gardening. I really loved it. My husband is a huge blessing to me. It's frustrating to realize how much I've given up. Thank you for sharing. Life is hard, and we can only do our best.

Hi Donna, so sorry to hear that. I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy. I crochet, knit and sew in the winter to keep me busy 😀
      Take care!

I was diagnosed in 1994 when I was 24 years old. My daughter was diagnosed as a teenager. It really hurts and is so hard for people to understand because they can’t see your ailments. It really sucks that in the 20 years that I’ve had it, they’ve still made no progress in finding something that works. And the weight gain from medicine is horrible and medicinal weight gain is some of the hardest to lose. And I agree, morning is the worst time for me as well. Thanks for sharing your story, and prayers for better, less pain free days.

Thank you so much for making this video. You and I could be twins in our path. We moved to North Idaho from Phoenix for my health. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago but thankfully it has improved with Cymbalta. I have other things going on so little things wear me out. When you described what you go thru it was like you were in my head. But you express it so well 😢. I’m going to watch every one of your videos from the beginning to the end. ❤

Thank you so much 💜 and I’m so sorry you suffer with this too. It’s a horrific illness because it affects you inside out. I’m happy for you that Cymbalta has helped you. It was one of the first meds I was given and it didn’t help 😞
      Take care
