As Brian mentions in 16:00, I also notice that all Lambertones pickups are really consistent with their signature tone. They sound really really nice, and I can definitely tell they are cousins of the Cremas and other pickups from the same family but with their own characters :) Thanks for the video!

Everything you’re describing about these new pick ups is what TV Jones has incorporated into their Zoom Tron. I have the neck pick up installed in my Yamaha star and it gives me the best single coil tones I’ve ever had, but with a little extra fullness and no hum. I have no affiliation to TV Jones, but my experience with them has been outstanding. Excellent customer service and they provide all the necessary accessories to accommodate the pick ups in any Guitar.

Super random video idea: Have you guys ever thought of doing a “Top Gear style challenge” where you both get a budget (say $3000) and have to build a guitar rig for that price? I think it could be a cool idea and might be intriguing for some of us who don’t want to spend as much on our rig.

  • @Ronabel23

During the comparison, when the clean tones were played, the original filtertrons seemed better. but once you start playing overdriven and lead lines, that is where the strength of the lambertrons really shined through. Those lambertrons just have that extra bit of clarity that sounds soothing to the ears.

I also preferred the stock Filtertrons. Once you exit the "Squier/Epiphone" tier of $10 pickups, it really just becomes a matter of personal preference. No such thing as an objectively better pickup. Just one that a particular player likes the sound/feel of in their particular guitar with their particular set of expectations.

Curtis from Lambertones is friends with Brian and Bradford. This isn’t the first video where WT talked about Lambertone pick ups - they even had Curtis come in for their giveaway video.
I’m sure Worship Tutorials is happy to give Lambertone’s exposure as they really love their pickups and endorse Curtis’ vision with guitar pickups (and so do many others in the P&W community). I’d think Curtis would want to see how easy pickup installation as that is a hurdle for some people diving into the world of new pickups.

There are MUCH better 'trons from well known makers for less than HALF the price.
BUT, there is always someone who believes cost equals quality.
      Seldom is that true.
Plus, with all the effects on, you have no idea what the true tone is.
      Shady and expensive.
I am building a strat partscaster and it will have Filtertrons at bridge and neck and a lipstick in the middle.
My 'trons will, certainly, not cost $395 apiece like these Lambertones cost.

I had Lambertones Cremas and these were one of the worst pickups I ever tried. The construction looked very cheap. Even my guitar tech told me these look cheaply made. I was not a fan of the sound either. Sold them after a couple weeks.
The lollar pickups I had looked better made and more balanced.
So 400$ for a filtertron, yes it is crazy and I dont see how they can justify this price, even more considering there are legacy brands like TV Jones that have been doing filtertrons for decades.
I also have Kinman's pickups, with annoying description that reads like "snake oil", however the quality feels good and they sound great and are truly noiseless. Still not 400$ for a pickup.
These 400$ pickup trend needs to stop. This is like Ron Ellis, don't waste your money on this and promote builders that have much more experience in high end guitars, selling at much much more reasonable prices.
Heck even Jeffrey Kunde from Jesus Culture has been doing tons of records with standard HS filtertons.
