Proud owner of Slavia MT 1.0, took 5 test rides back and forth between Honda City and Slavia back and forth before deciding. I have a smile on my face each time I revv the engine, overtakingis a breeze. In Delhi city traffic I’m getting 14-15 kmpl with ease and on highway 25 without efforts. Gem of a car, gem of an engine.
Very good mileage numbers for sure 👍
I also was in awe of Virtus but somehow, Slavia has got my fancy now. Must have been hard to choose between the two legends i.e. Slavia and City. Congratulations 👏
I was in the same dilemma. Finally decided in favour of Slavia 1.0 Style MT
Same here took 1.0 slavia MT and have no regrets
I also took a test drive of skoda saliva 1.0 TSI / AT a few days back in Pune in bumper to bumper traffic for 30 minutes and in that time I also saw a mileage of 21 KMPL in MID
25 my God. Are you sure?
I have taigun 1.0, 1 bought on 1st jan 2023. After first service will the mileage increase?
Today realized the true meaning of a quote by my teacher. “Always study the knowledge, never Read”.. reading is what we give to a newspaper, study is when you dive deep into the depth of the topic.. what maximum auto journalists do is the reading of the specs sheet but you guys made it study the real depth.. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Kudos.. feeling proud to be a vw polo owner since 2014..
Munish Sir. I salute you. I’m a Mechanical Engineer and when I tried to explain this to anyone nobody believed in me. Everybody made fun of us buying a 1.0 TSI Engine. Thank you so much for bursting the myths of people who are buying a NA Engine and ignoring this beast. We have taken our Taigun 1.0 at hills and it felt like we need not do any effort for climbing steep slopes. 😇❤️
❤️🙏
How many people
Were travelling in ur Taigun
In my case we were 5 people in my Taigun 1 litre and travelled to mussorie and I felt some lesser power when I compare it to my polo
Having said that I never travelled on hills with 5 people in my polo
@@maroofahmad4660 I feel ki every car will perform a little sluggish with 5 occupants, be it my verna 1.6 or kushaq 1.0
We were 4 members. With luggage packed to full. Must be around 8-10 kgs. If I compare it to Vento we were driving 1.6 TDI, we felt a bit short of torque obviously due to the difference in Torque as well as it was a Diesel Engine but Taigun never made us realise it is struggling.
@@garvitnanda4527gree sir
This was my first experience with 5 people on hills so may be thats why I felt like that
Beauty of Munish and Sunder sirs discussion is they never criticised any company or technology,,, they only provided Pros and Cons ,,, the highs and lows ,,,great respect to both of you sirs..🙏🙏
I think no automobile channel provides this level of knowledge they are jus busy in just explaining features
Thanq sunderdeep sir jii ❤
Thanks
lovely video Sundar and Munish Ji ! Bahut aasan kar diya apne engine dynamics samajhna ..thanks ton ..love to both of you !
Super thanks to you both , I've never listened this much seriously even in my Btech classes.I understood very clearly. Kudos 🙌🙌💚💚
The way you are explaining is very well appreciated.
Kind of research and efforts you are taking is simply great.
Keep up good work.
Amazing video on the difference between NA and Turbo and bursting the myths between the two. What is also special in this video is the way the topic is explained so simply with good examples. That is the beauty of this video
Great video..... The point of powerband is very apt. I hope more and more people start giving emphasis on it
Thank you! for everything you guys are doing to educate people. Yesterday, I took a test drive Virtus of 1.0 MT, and experienced the same. The good news is I booked it immediately. Now waiting for next week to get it delivered 😊
Congratulations 🥳
Such a science well explained. My confusion regarding 1.0 engine cleared .
@@SunderdeepSinghI own kushaq 1.0 MT I feel too much lag in city and slopes please share some tips at what rpm we need to switch gears this will really help many if you make a video of it.
@@nk2506 Could you help telling how much mileage you get in city, heavy traffic and highways?
@@TravelAndMachines I live in Bangalore so based on the traffic I get between 8-11. In highway as you know it depends on speed I have got 23 in MID if I maintain 80-90. If I go beyond 100 or 120 I get 15-17
Great combination. Nice work is being done by both of you. Proud to be owner of VW Polo since 2016
Good work Sundardeep ji and munish ji. This conversation should be reached to new young car buyers. Very helpful🙌🏼
There are somany people who need to understand this! Doing a good job!! Kudos guys👍
Great video from Mr.Munish ji & Sunderdeep ji. I fell that this is the most genuine video from Mr.Munish where he also appreciate the Japanese Technology & also criticised their policies for India w.r.t to their global market(Still offering NA engine even in their top models).
I also want to add in this is that when someone got paddle shifters with Turbo engines, then one can easily adjust that turbo lag & the turbo engine is always in its boil situation.
I believe the reason why people loves Honda is their Comfort, Safety, reliability & fun to drive(with only manual Vtech, not their sluggish CVT)
Vtech kicks in bro!😊
Excellent explanation Manishji and Sundarji....very nice. Thanks a lot for explaining with such technicalily.
I love these discussions. Thank you guys.
Great job 👏, salute you both. This type of content and knowledge we Indian customers should gather and only then take your buying decisions wisely 😊
Very useful information to understand the technical aspects of normal engine and turbo engine modification ..learned something new and understand Thanks sir 👍

What a knowledge. Your channel is making me an enthusiast for germans. Wanna take this opportunity to say thanks for this gold knowledge
I am also happy user of 1.0 turbo engine with dct, experience is very good coupled with dct transmission. Car always runs stress free and in city highway and hills.
Wow ! What a discussion !
Even I was confused between 1.0 tsi & 1.5 NA engine. Thank you both of you for clarifying the doubts. I was thinking why VW has stopped giving 1.6 engine in Vento n Rapid n why are they giving 1.0 tsi engine?
लेकीन आज ये doubts clear हो गये. Thank you so much to both of you !
Munish ji is not a human being, he is a computer! Kya knowledge, kya study, kya analysis, kyA explaination ! One in millions! Salute to his knowledge 🙏
Could you please throw some light on 3 cylinder engine n 4 cylinder engine? Because it is a selling point for others vs VW n Skoda.

Hello Sunderdeep, keep it ON. One of the best Indian Vehicle videos I have ever seen…right amount of Technical and practical stuff. I am booking 1.0 KUSHAQ/ SLAVIA, after this…had some doubts since last few days..all gone..
Thanks and kudos to you. Tc and keep up the good work.🎉🎉🎉
Thanks 🙏
I recently took polo 1.0 tsi AT to hills.. We wer 4 travelling with our boot full of luggage.. Nowhere did we encounter any lag & to my surprise there was no rollback even on steep climbs or hairpins. Never experienced this kind of engineering in any other brand. Now I know that torque band of 1750 to 4400 was the reason of this performance.. Marvelous explanation buddy!
Absolutely! Jab log experience krte hain tabhi samaj aata hai

Highly informative!
Crystal clear sir g , so easy explanation, thanks 🙏
Gajab technical discussion…. 👏👏👏
I am glad watching this video, it was eye opener for me.
By Far ... the best informative video, I more confident with VW turbo now wrt to naturally aspirated.
Driving Slavia 1.0 Lt MT and it makes me smile everytime I rev it up!!
Hats off sir nice video....👍🏻🙏🏻
Sir ji, nice informative video. All concepts are cleared. Pls explain CC too so that it's importantace will be ruled out. Just for curiousity can we hv 1.0 with 4 cylinders?
Hats off to Munish Sir research and knowledge
The most detailed video I have ever seen.
Great explanation. All engines have idle at around 850 rpm. Hence 1.5 NA engine will produce more power than Turbo in a standing position. Hence we all witnessed issues in AC functioning on red lights as Turbo spools in 2nd gear.
Wonderful explanation!
Very deep explanation on turbo engine i like it
Great sirji all subjects clear thanks...
Big fan of urs.truly best sir I am also vw lover 2011 se 3 polo change kr chuka hu .vento bhi hai rapid auto li.apse bahut inspired hu.very genuine jodi of urs.technically sound..great bro. ....luv u
In-depth knowledge shared I think it can change the decisions people make in buying cars
Absolutely true
what an ease of explanation
once i went to hills in Wrv vtec2019 with 3 elder and 1 kid while climbing the hill in 3rd gear the car turned off due to low revs my friend was driving and didn't had much experience of hill climbs car got of and then it needed to be turned on again and pulled car in 1st gear and car was revved crazy with loud engine noise
with turbo engine hill climb would be ease turbo s are best.👍🏻
Learnt a lot of new things.
Awesome explanation... We are turbo charger fans....
I'm a car enthusiast too...

You answered all my queries and given me a strong point to buy Skoda kushaq 1.0 TSI...thank you so much.😊
What abt the ac prblm
Could you help telling how much mileage you get in city, heavy traffic and highways?
Thank you for such a valuable information sir.
Very good narrated.
What a quality content.🙏🙏🙏🙏
Very informative sir. I have a 1L TSI polo, and this engine can generate 140+ bhp and 250+ NM of torque in stage 2 if tuned. Naturally aspirated are no way near.
What a marvelous piece of engineering!!
No brother... It can easily touch 150 hp with a stage 2 remap. A good stage 1 remap itself gives around 135hp.
Munish ji, I respect your knowledge 🙏🏻

One thing that you have not mentioned in your long series of information is that all the VW Group cars come with tilt and telescopic steering wheel as standard. It is a big thing while driving a car and its advantage goes unnoticed.
Great feature, Yes
No one is buying natural aspirated engine car on hills to drive above 4k of rpm,
Its bcz when your car will be in halt position at steep hill than an NA engine will give much better initial torque than any turbo engine.
That's why alto is the king of hills, not considering its safety rating though.
Else in normal driving conditions Turbo engine rocks at a cost difference of approximately 1lac😁
Thanks for rpm knowledge
So informative this.
Amazing video 💯
…sunder jeet ji listening, pure listening !!!
Great explanation regarding torque and its band. But what does ‘RPM band’ represents? Have you covered that topic in any of your other videos?
Great insights
Nice video! I have vento non turbo 1.6 mpi petrol and it works very well on hilly areas and very low gear changes. Can you show more light on this engine as very few info available on Internet.

Yes sir you are right in Thailand or in other countries 1.0 turbo is given by Honda but the thing is if you wanna to drive Honda City alone then anyday I prefer 1.5 VTEC because the feeling of hitting an 7200 RPM is just something else I'm youngster I love to reving an enjine but for practicality I choose 1.0 turbo because if you touring with your family it give good mid range but in city again 1.5 is better as it has not turbo lag so both are good enough.
Manish Sir, explanation about technology is next level and simple. That's why I call him Proffecer Sir.🙏🙏🙏⚘️
I'm looking forward to use slavia 1 ltr mt for commercial purpose, should I?
Excellent analysis 👏. Please continue this please. Indian mindset should change, please encourage quality products like VW, skoda... we already lost ford
Good info.. @17:15 and earlier also, he is inadvertently swapping torque and bhp units. Nm is torque and bhp is power. The definition of torque and power (total work done and how quickly work is done) explained by him is also the other way round.
Go a ahead,,,,All d best
When I took the test drive of VW Taigun 1.0 AT and another brand NA engine, I somehow felt Taigun felt much better while driving. I thought it was because of the build quality, metal etc. But never ever thought this crucial aspect of RPM vs Torque chart at 15:30. Thank you. Getting the delivery of Taigun 1.0 AT tomorrow.
Sir before watching your video with Munish sir I was also thinking that 1.5 NA is much better than 1.0 turbo but now my myth is broken thank you very much for such an informative video
Just booked my Virtus 1.5 GT Red Colour today.
Can't wait for it 🤩
Congratulations 🥳
Thank you sir :)
एक वीडियो स्कोडा लौरा पर भी बनाइए आपकी वजह से बहुत सारी टेक्निकल स्पेसिफिकेशन हो जाएंगी
Can you please explain about power and torque delivery for both type of engines at low rpm s around 1500 which is typical use in city.would we not need frequent gear shifts for 1.0 turbo in city?
As a computer science student, I can say proudly that in terms of knowledge of cars and engines I am ahead of almost 95 percent of Indias population.
Hello Sunderdeep ji, I have been a regular viewer of your videos for a long time and I appreciate the high-quality content you share. I own a Rapid 1.0 TSI AT Petrol and I was wondering if you could provide me with a graph of the fuse box along with the corresponding amp fuse required for my car.
It's really a very unique well informed discussion.the correlation between Power and Torque.
Also Sir,i need to know the longevity and durability of Turbo engines as compared to NA engines?
Bro, said this on previous video also. Thoughts on 3 vs 4 cylinder engines? I know 3 cylinders are quite refined now a days but still they are imbalanced compared to 4 cylinder.
life time proud owner gen by gen vw turbo tsi ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Proud owner of 1.0 Virtus AT
Next month me car purchase karne wala tha kisi or brand ki . Is video k bad me VW and sakoda bhi consider karuga 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello what do you think about the 1.5 tsi engine is reliable?
Paaji with this 1.0 tsi , I feel in idle the engine behaves as if it is assisting the driver to pull with ease on release of slight clutch only . Have you experienced the same with slavia ? But I think yours is automatic.
Hi Munish ji, Only issue which I faced in my kushaq 1.0 MT in steep hills is that below 1750 rpm , due to turbo lag we may have to gear down to 1st gear where 1.5 NA engines can pick up in 2nd gear. Because in steep hills when speed is very less say 20 kmph, rpm in second gear may be less than 1750 rpm. So in that situation we have to lower to first gear.
NA engine is BETTER on HILLS. PERIOD.
TURBO LAG CAN'T BE IGNORED.

You need to know how to drive on hills with turbo engine
I drove whole of Uttarakhand with 2nd gear in my slavia 1.0 Mt MO problem
Point is to get high torque you have to rev above 1600 to get turbo in effect
And lag is knowingly provided so that in traffic it does not accelerate suddenly

Can you please make a detailed video on 1.2 TDI engine 2012-14. Positives and negatives of polo 2012-2014.
I myself own skoda slavia 1.0 manual and its a very good engine no doubts and my relative own honda city 5th gen and i live in Shimla and i can tell you driven both cars over 5000 km the Na 1.5 performs better with 4 passenger with ac and cargo in the trunk small turbo engines are mid range centric which gives it like a diesel like character i i will explain that diffrenlty the drawbacks of a small turbo engine. but what i want to add more is that
A Dyno chart is the plot of the horsepower and torque across an X-Y axis. An ideal engine is the one which has the power and torque peaking around the same rpm point closer to the redline, which gives the motor phenomenal top end power. A plot with the torque peaking earlier than the peak horsepower, means its going to be a mid-range oriented package. Poorly tuned engines make peak horsepower earlier, which is a long term catastrophe to the engine.
So what is an ideal curve and how it should look?
All petrol engines make peak power very close to their redline. A car with a 6500rpm rev-cut makes peak power at 6400rpm. The 5th gen Honda city i-vtec 1.5L makes 121ps@6600rpm with a redline fixed at 7000 and 145nm of torque at 4300 rpm. This translates to a really peppy motor with superb response. The power peak closer to the redline is what makes a stock or tuned petrol engine fun to drive, which also defines the character of the engine. The legendary Honda city i-vtec 1.5 with its DOHC 16V motor is so much fun to drive, due to the relatively high rev cut at 7100rpm and with the power and torque peaking way higher than the other cars in its category.
So when any exhaust or intake tuning is being made to a petrol engine, its important to build the right peak power and torque.
A badly tuned exhaust or intake tune can result in a drop in the peak power and torque which gives bad engine response, even if you have managed to get some extra power.
In turbocharged engines, the turbo sizing and everything else around it determines the peak power and torque point.
Below is a pic of a Honda civic i-vtec's dyno report - turbocharged . The green line is horsepower and red is torque. A stock civic makes peak power @ 6600rpm as recorded on the dyno. The car in the example runs a Garrett GT28 ball-bearing turbo with external wastegate and a standalone ecu with drive-by-wire control. With tuned intake and exhaust dimensions and right sized turbo, the car (with a factory stock engine) now makes peak power at its 7500rpm redline which gives superb top-end response and breathes efficiently. The i-VTEC engagement is in sync with the power band climb, making it linear and driveable.
On the other hand, the same engine can make high horsepower at a far lower rpm range, with a diminishing power band which is a result of bad volumetric efficiency. A diesel like power band from a petrol engine is not-so-fun to drive although the gain in horsepower is going to make the car faster anyway. Shifting the powerband earlier than stock with a higher redline only results in stress and eventual damage to the engine. The powerband character of the engine is key to long term reliability and its really important to understand where an engine makes peak power, rather than how much peak power it makes!
Thats the reason sports cars and sports bike to have high revving engine and makes their power higher in the rev range
I hope you take my feedback positiviely. :)
Brother, have you copy pasted this from somewhere because it is written ‘below is the pic of…’. Having said that, I personally found Turbo Engines better after driving N number of NAs and Turbos. NAs redline more and make you feel that you are fast but in Turbo, it does the job at 2500-3000 rpm itself with no drama. Tell me one thing please, why Honda is providing 1.0 Turbo in Thailand & Singapore as a premium line over 1.5 NA? That should seal the answer that what is better in the performance.
@@SunderdeepSingh it's an article from Race concept renown tuning company. But how dose it feel below 1750 rpm and above 3500 rpm dose it performs like a 1.5 i-vetec a 1 liter turbo will show its character of being a 1 liter below 1750 and after 3500 that's the sweet spot where as a na 1.5 has all the rev range from 1k rpm to all the way 7k rpm that flat curve of torque between 1750 to 3500 rpm is good but thats the only power band you have. In Singapore they get the same 1.5 L I-vtech dohc engine even in the rs version . That dosent mean that 1. Liter ivtech is better in performance their are many different reasons a manufacturer is giving different engine in different markets in thiland their is no option of 1.5 even they do not get a manual gearbox dose that mean manual gearbox is not good the city in thiland also miss many features that Indian city have and a drag race between 1 liter skoda slavia or virtus ( manual ) vs City 1.5 manual will actually seal the ans and also why is city complete 1 sec faster than salvia and virtus 1 liter respectively from 0 -100 m.ua-cam.com/video/m2qExaEwn0g/v-deo.html in this video its much better explained than I can . Anyways love your content . ❤️❤️
Wow, super correct explanation, I own a Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI. I Can say this is 100% correct.

Hi Sir,
I like all your videos but this series are on different level.. I have one query if you have time to answer.. I hv heard from you and from other vloggers also that sedan driving and comfort is unmetchable to mid sized SUVs .
I hv drive only creta and hatchback's so I would like to know that is sedan also have the the same comfort and visibility while driving as mid size suvs have . Are approach angle , ground clearance and sitting position and turning is not compromised in sedan. I mostly drive in city , mohallas and visit to my village .. so considering these kushaq or slavia which one is better option for someone where we need to drive car in real Indian conditions where Approach angle and ground clearance is mattered
Very nice 👍
Appreciate the efforts towards educating people at large. NA engines have got no edge over turbo engines when it comes to performance . But in the case of hybrids, even hybrids also kind of mimic behaviour of turbo engine to some extent. For ex. Toyota Hyryder gives 141 Nm peak torque from 0-3995 rpm thanks to electric motor and beyond 4k rpm engine gets activated for further power boost. Not much of difference from 1.0 Tsi engine’s peak torque of 178 nm. The trade off here is though better fuel efficiency. So for someone eying fuel efficiency hybrids become clear winner here.
Superb kuch doubt the vo bahut ache clear hue am also big fan of vw
