Very relevant information by Manish Ji. Awaiting further discussions in the channel with him. Glad to see that atleast there's one youtube channel giving relevant facts and technical information, I do wish to share my experiences which I find may be interesting. I've observed the switching on and off of the compressor in my 1.0 TSI Polo when I drive during the high idle period (till the engine temperature reaches 50 degree C). I drive without pressing the accelerator in high idle (1300 - 1400 rpm) till 3rd gear. The compressor switches on and off during this time (If there is load, the compressor switches off). I've also noticed that the compressor switches off during hard acceleration (example maximum acceleration during an overtake) and the compressor switches on only after 3500 - 4000 rpm during full throttle. (There's a clear cut sound when the compressor engages). I believe this is an excellent algorithm since it allows for maximum engine performance during overtakes. My father has a cruze of 2012 with the DOHC 164 hp 360 nm manual variant. Had injector issues and still has some issue with the MAF sensor wiring which is still not diagnosed. It used to give excellent mileage before. When the check engine light isn't on the idle rpm is less than 750. Drove it quite a bit without the MAF connector on it (due to the connector being faulty) and that makes the idle high (around 900) which is interesting and I thought of mentioning it. We didn't have any issues with the AC till recently which started because of a leaking coil. Maybe the issue was in older gen Cruzes and Optras which had the SOHC VM Motori engine with 148hp, 320nm (belt driven) a 5 speed, these had a lot of turbo lag.
Your ECU is dumping the fuel and creating the rich mixture as MAF sensor is not sending any data... It will be good to drive for sometime but it will cause black smoke and even clog Diesel particulate filter (DPF) and EGR...
Excellent session!!! My favourites brands are VW Skoda Jeep. Also, I like Mahindra for rural/rough terrains. But what differentiates VW and Skoda from all others is they listen to their customers. Like the issues of AC in 1 lit TSI and rattling noise inside the cabin in Kushaq were addressed within 5 to 6 months after the launch. Jeep compass still has ratting noise inside the cabin coming from dashboard and doors. All these problems of AC & rattling noise are easy to resolve, Skoda and VW have solved it but but Jeep Compass is still living with it for last 5 to 6 years
As an Electro mechanical engineer, I was exactly thinking the same solution in past for AC issue before purchasing my Kushaq. I was sure that sooner or later it would be easily resolved by company. But I was not sure what skoda VW exactly did to resolve. However, now when I heard the expert telling the same solution I was expecting, I'm convinced, happy and satisfied.

Hats off Sunder Paji and Munish Ji for detailed conversation on VW Skoda. 1 suggestion like can you make a video on what the group could have done better with 2.0 in terms of missing features, decision of removing 10inch across varients in Skoda, does Monte Carlo makes sense, low grade horn and vipers set. At launch providing 6AB only in manual Style and not Automatic style. As you always say these cars have potential to sell like 15K but still what according to you are the points where they need to work to achieve such numbers. I was too close in booking Virtus when I saw it in a Delhi dealership but the salesperson was not aware that in next lot when car will come it will have 8inch or 10inch screen so i dropped it and till now I believe there is still no clarity. VW has never actually removed 10inch however Skoda has removed 10inch across all varients however when you go and visit showroom u still see cars with both 10inch and 8inch.
VW is parent brand they have priority over Skoda hence they never removed 10 Inch unit, also VW had unit in frame but Skoda has floating one which is easier to replace.
I own a March 2023 Taigun 1.5 GT PLUS, i agree to all the issues mentioned by you, touch screen has hanging issues, rear camera issues, pairing issued with mobile - apple car play... and GEAR ISSUES IN 1st and 2nd gear...there seems to be programming or AI issue as engine is not able to decide which gear to go...so in roads full of pot holes and speed breakers, IT IS A BIG ISSUE AS CAR IS NOT ABLE TO DECIDE which GEAR TO GO in - I.E. 1ST OR 2ND gear!!! during this time it behaves like an AMT gearbox... another biggest issue is auto-ON/OFF SYSTEM, whenever you slow down your car due to big pot-holes and speed breakers, the engine keeps getting switched off and on constantly...it feels so irritating...when we complain to VW service team they have fixed ONE LINERS....PRE-PROGRAMMED managers...whereas in Japanese / S. Korean cars this thing never happens...only on traffic signals after a certain duration the car engine will stop not otherwise... AC cooling is another issue, there is confusion with compressor, sometimes it cools sometimes it doesn't...no solution from service teams, we have to just live with it... reality is reality, howsoever VW may defend itself...they didn't prepare fully before launch in India, they just dumped EUROPEAN stuff on Indian roads...
On Venue 1.2 l petrol, i have seen that the idle RPM is 600 rpm and when ac on it shifts to 700 rpm. But the AC coolings are very efficient. Probably 4 cylinder engine is the reason
The efficiency with the performance of 1.5 TSI is awesome. 567 km from Hyderabad to Bangalore with 2 adults + 1 child with boot loaded till brim the car returned an average of 17.2 kmpl including city drive.
Went for this update today to skoda workshop in Delhi. Though they had no idea about what this update does to the idle rpm but what you are saying is making complete sense. Rest summers will tell. Good information 👍🏻
I understand that summers will give us the exact result of this software update. Though I am planning to buy it in next few days and I really want to know how does AC performs after the update? If you can give me a brief idea. Will it survive north india hot summers?
@@cafedtuis it worth which model did u buy? Ac is still weak I heard from 1.0 and 1.5 buyer on youtube with multiple breakdown issues? What is your experience?
Such great info by Manishji. AC issue was one of the major factors i dropped VW Virtus/Taigun.. I wish they had corrected this issue sooner. My next car "VW" for sure!!!
Watching this video again after an year and with software update of 1.0 TC and SKODA has increased my car’s ideal RPM by 200. Earlier it use to be around 800 and now its 1000 all the time and fuel efficiency has droped significantly

Planning to buy kushaq 1.0 MT. I have a few questions. Would be grateful if I get the answers. 1. Is the car underpowered in hills? 2. Is the EPC issue solved? 3. Is the rattling noise from doors solved? 4. Is the AC under powered?
This is great information. Manish and Sunder ji you both are doing great job teaching and giving valuable insights about the technicalities of the vehicle. Awesome to learn new things. Im a new owner of skoda kushaq, so able to learn more through your videos.
Munish, very good insights. However I will disagree on what you are calling as positive wrt less RPM. It doesn't matter if they increase the RPM by 20 percent but the cooling in 1.5 - 2 million car needs to be the best. Living in Delhi, i can tell you this is one criteria that can force people to overlook all the other unbeatable aspects that VW / Skoda offer. Heat is a real problem as it also affects other indirect impacts like road rage, anger or irritation levels. This is not a complaint but a very critical fact that cannot be ignored. Persnally i have gone ahead with a Honda especially for this reason. However I will definitely consider this brand in my next purchase thanks to your lovely insights
Wonderful video again!!!!! I drive slavia 1.0 MT in bangalore I’m bumper to bumper traffic but havent faced this issue but I only faced once when I had parked my car in hot sun in Pondicherry (38*C) and drove in bumper to bumper But the resolution explained in video is very much logical and factual !!!! Nothing can beat facts People who want the sales of VAG to comedown exaggerate the issue
I had a celerio manual before, before Virtus 1L torque converter. I've faced this issue already, but the issue i faced in celerio was usually when used to overtake or higher RPM, i mean specifically on higher engine load😅. I've never faced this issue in Virtus
Paaji I showed this video to my friend who was going to buy Creta base model coz of AC issues in Taigun . Now he has booked Taigun 1.0 I can’t believe Munish ji explains so well to change peoples minds
@@munishsharma96 Hello Munish ji. I want to purchase Kushaq 1.0 But not sure if AC performance is good enough for our Delhi/Chandigarh hot summers. Immediately fell in love after the test drive. But I won't enjoy it if I am sweating in city traffic. Please give me your feedback.
agar yahi video with these details Volkswagen India apne channel pe daal thi ki what happened & how did we solved, then i think jyada trust create hota customers ko & ek transparency dikhti BTW nice video
Manishji I have a question for you. Why Vento 1.0 TSI owners did not experience AC, EPC, Rattling, Screeching,... problems & issues ? VW had shared long before the launch that they have tested the 2.0 MQB-AO-IN Kushaq for 7 lacs kms with over 90% localisation on various Indian Road conditions. What is most surprising is, inspite of testing for 7 lacs kms the vehicle launched suffered EPC, AC, Ceiling Roof, Brake noise, Creeking noise from the Dash, noises from the doors, etc.... All the above shames the Co. Manufacturing & Quality Standards. Is it not? With all the above mentioned issues & problems its always very difficult for buyers to develop trust & confidence on Newly developed Indian specific VW-Skoda Cars. It was labeled as Compromised Quality Car with lots of Cost Cutting has been done for Indian Market. That's the sole reason why I always advice my friends to buy Cars only after 2 years of launch. Until than Co. would definitely iron out all their problems & issues from customers feedbacks. Otherwise chances are you will always feel cheated as you have bought a half-baked & defective Car.
Not gone Through the video yet sunder Ji Bt my understanding on AC fix issue. Will edit this after seeing your video, offic calls now 😜 I suspect issue was only for Auto AC. Here is why. If we understand the chronology Initially many of us were facing AC issues, Actions 1) They stopped/ reduced production of style varaint, 2) Compeletely Stoped ambition model 3) Introduced Ambition classic and they said Ambition model is completely closed. 4) They sold only Ambition classic and Active models that had manual Ac's. Somewhere around July to August. (I asked for style varaint during this, they strictly said me.. don't take style sir, it's over priced not value for money, u will get more milage in ambition due to smal tyre etc etc) They did not even allowed me to discuss on Style Gave me nice discount so I can focus on Ambition classic only This was done by 2 different dealers, same words and same way of approch. I Believe after some time they fixed the Ac issues 5) During Dassera i found Ambition classic model is now closed, And Ambition model With Auto AC are back, but very less stock. May be they are not producing Ambition and Active now, (they say they are exporting, only God knows the truth here) So i understand that Ac issues were only in Auto AC model, and they stoped that cars, and later again started producing it once issue was fixed
I have a 5 yrs old Vento and prior to that I had a Verna. There is no tripping issue in Vento. But it's cooling is surely much less than Verna. Can I improve Vento's cooling?
Again a request.. Kindly make a video on Active and Passive Safety that VW cars provide and as Munish ji mentioned in one of your videos about the utility of sedans. I think this open up eyes of the customers who are only following the SUV trend without understanding the utility that a Sedan can provide.
The best way to measure performance of AC is to measuring difference between entering air duct temperature and leaving air duct temperture. The higher the difference, better the cooling. This can be used to compare 2 cars , which should be kept in same temperature conditions and after atleast 15 mintutes of running.
One issue that wasn't touched upon: the AC in my Taigun 1.0MT (Sep '22 MFD) makes a "khrrr" noise at low speeds/RPMs, which is audible inside the cabin. This happens very often and can only be ignored if music is playing. Since it's happening in Delhi winter, I am scared it will get worse in summer. My 2011 Yeti 2.0 TDi MT does not have this noise at all.
Anything Indian made will have a long way to go to compete with components made in Germany. If the sound is constantly there, then get it checked with different VW service centres.
It looked funny but I had to ask tough questions to know how practically a layman is getting benefit from the resolution. His explanation about RPM thing was excellent till then.
@@SunderdeepSingh True, great technical info. Im sure VW fans base customers will understand if VW explains the way Manishji does. Im a recent Honda city customer but love the content on your channel… Great stuff sirji 👍
Hello Sir, I have Kushaq 1.0 MT. 35000 KM driven. After second servicing skoda did some ACDC. took around 2 3k from me. Earlier car was not cooling properly. After servicing cooling improved but other issue started. 1. When I start AC on Auto mode dust and dusty smell comes. It is like 1st rain mud smell. Not that good 😅. 2. In winter I tried to use heater but ot struggles to start somehow. I have to change air direction then it starts. But take little extra time. 3. AC automatically starts on with outside air intake and all kind of smells comes inside the car. 4. In night I generally keep AC off but the air keep coming from the vents slowly. But recently I switched off the AC and FAN on 24°C. It was a chilly night 14°c . Ac started hot Air slowly toward legs and with the increasing speed AIR temperature started increasing. My car had one AC update already. They told me there will be one more coming.
If it smells like mud, you have mud on your evaporator. It will impact cooling too over time. You will have to get dashboard opened and get evaporator cleaned
Bhaiya ap log na script likha karo taki same cheez bar bar repeat na ho orr idhar udhar na nikl jao topic se htke, by the great video and quite knowledgeable as well🤞
Sir... I respect your knowledge but @16:06 you said BCM as a Board Control Module. But it's actually known as the Body Control Module. Also further you said that in German Cars the system is decentralized so we have ECM for Engine Control and BCM for other Electronic Functions...But this is not just in German cars...this decentralization is available in almost all the brands like Honda, Suzuki, Chevrolet, Ford, Nissan
I will never buy Skoda/VW in my life again. Sunderdeep sir, I've been your subscriber since starting and I want to bring this to your notice sir. Many times I've commented on your videos and recommend skoda to others but now I simply can't. 70k kms is nothing for a car and how can the air bags get a fault?. 70k for 1 airbag!! I simply cant get it. I owned a 2008 Honda city and unfortunately lost it in an accident in 2019 and I never faced the issue in it. I'm glad I got jazz instead of polo. I'm so disappointed with my rapid right now and I simply want to sell it and get a Honda again. There is a reason why lots of people complaining and why people go away from these cars. After all you are spending your hard earned money.
Hi, first thing, airbag error can be because of the rat bite. When I was getting my Troc serviced, a Taigun was there with the same error & it was fixed free of cost. A wire was fixed. With deployment of airbag there shouldn’t be any other reason.
@@SunderdeepSingh Sir I went to the service centre and I spent 2 days there. There is no issue, the airbag is faulty. I asked my service advisor and he replied with time it might have happend. What sense does it make that with time Airbag issues developed
@@talinsharma7040 Escalate it to Skoda India and get it done under the warranty. I am hearing this issue first time that airbag error has come automatically.
Hello ji, I absolutely like the technical aspects of video, but one thing I didn’t understand from VW/Skoda group, why they have issues in engine noise, tires and wind noise? build and performance also top notch but why they can’t make cabin a better experience like Hyundai/Kia?, I own Skoda Kushaq 1.0 AT Style (2024), but service guys couldn’t fix humming noise when I drive the car, I always feel why would I bought this car?
Sir, the thing is, why did such issue occur in the first place. And sir, take my word, you kindly step out of you VW, sit in TATA harrier for some minutes and feel the difference in AC. I not a brand supporter, infact I want Indian market to remain highly competetive, but Skoda cars and issues just go hand in hand. I m commenting as such because we were very recently planning to purchase a car, and Kushaq was somewhere in mind, but we went with XUV 700 because of repeated occurance of issues in Skoda cars.
Let me share my experience, my brother Vento TDI 2012 HIGHLINE recently went for AC overhaul. We changed everything including the compressor. But after the replacement it is weird the AC compressor switches off more commonly than before, that we never experienced before. We we literally feel the switching on and off the compressor. Enquired with VW, but nothing faulty. Still the cabin temperature is maintained we didn’t worry much.
AC software update from Skoda stopped the cooling for ventilated seats. I just wonder do they even perform some basic testing before rolling out updates to the customers. We can praise as much their driving dynamics, build quality etc but they are lacking on developing trust among customers with such shoddy updates.
Thank you Sundardeep’ji & Manish’ji for bringing a gem of a series. I have a question regarding Engine Stop/Start feature for 1.0 TSI. Is there any harm to the engine if using this feature in long term? As when engine stops with this feature circulation of oil also stops and then when the engine restarts circulation of oil has to restart. Are we running the risk of acceleration without proper oil circulation?
The AC compressor switch on and off mechanism is very harsh and loud. Can be heard inside the cabin. Very intrusive. The AC is not efficient, does not cool as effective as other cars in similar price range.
Perhaps not a right explanation for Taigun GT. Even while running in Highways of North summers , AC is awful. The manual say interior setting should be 5 deg less than external ambient. How is that feasible in India when outside Temp may be more than 42 deg C. Overall capacity is lower than Japanese counterparts
Very true my dad had fiesta diesel ac was superb. I have Hyundai i20 diesel even its ac is good compared to my dads kushaq 1.0. I am not saying Skoda has bad ac but compared to my i20 I think it is bad
Quite informative and helpful. Request you to also cover Auto Stop Start feature, issues it causes in bumper to bumper traffic and possible solution by VW. I believe if this component is re calibrated to cutoff after 4 seconds of idling it will become more useful.
Cause, if you did drive any smart hybrid vehicles in suzuki like breeze, scross, etc. Then you will know that they have 2 batteries one is for engine and another is dedicated to START AND STOP usage, which included multiple ignitions of engine
So it doesn't casue any severe damage to your primary battery and the other battery is mainly designed for the START STOP feature. But here in VW or Škoda it's not the same, they are using same for battery for multiple purposes which is not good
Literally I am watching this video second time coz mujhe call aaya regarding Taigun 1.0 AT to updating the software before 4 March 😂😂 Although ac is working fine since April 2022 bt they said it's compulsory.. It's a educational video 😌😌😌
Took a TD of both 1.0 and 1.5 Skoda Kushaq in Noida 2 days back. The AC was awful on 1.0. I asked the dealer about the software update. The reply was shocking when they said it was yet to be done!! With such lethargic dealers, I wish VW Skoda all the best. I was seriously considering buying the Kushaq 1.0 but I am in two minds now. I like 1.5 for obvious reasons but it is a bit out of my budget.
My Kushaq RPM never drops below 1000 when did cold start it goes around 1250 for a mint and backs to 1000. 2nd point, sir Ac chalu karne ka bad vo surr vala avaj ata hai vo kiska hai? Any idea 3rd issue, At lower rpm / speed (5kmph) pe gadi chalane bad char char vali avaj ati hai engine se... Like kind of belt noise. Not sure which sound is that, no issue at higer speed/ rpm
Really amazing content, Sunderdeep and Manish! I’m completely hooked on to your channel !😊 Such intricate details explained so clearly and confidently. My belief in VW-Skoda cars has been firmly restored and as a matter of fact, I’m planning to buy a Kushaq Monte Carlo 1.5 DSG shortly, but I’m a little worried about its performance and long term reliability in Delhi NCR traffic. Therefore, can u pls shed some light on the same, along with some dos / donts while using a DSG transmission during peak bumper to bumper traffic ?
Hai Sunderdeep singji. I owned virtus 1.0 litre topline torque converter automatic.I needed some help here. Great work bro! Keep it up!👍 Fellow T-Roc owner here from Hoshiarpur. Mr Sunderdeep can you tell us how Munish ji has so much knowledge about automobiles, specially Volkswagen? I’m curious.
Sir if you are interested in learning anything, the knowledge available in Internet is so vast that could open and repair your engine. UA-cam channel M539 restoration is example of that, who started repairing BMWs just with Internet and Manuals.
My 10 years alto lxi ac chills better than my skoda Laura 2.0TDI... Sometimes even fog comes out of the vents due to high cooling in Alto.... Alto has SUBROS compressor and Laura has SANDEN Clutch less compressor.... I think subros is better than sanden
the issue in the algorithm in VAG cars or the huge blind spot in Tata Harrier are the very reasons why you should be skeptical in being an early adopter/buyer of an automobile be it a car or a bike.
Sunder Ji and Munish Ji - can you also put some light on power window issue specially in Kushaq. And to my earlier point where I suggested a video on what went wrong in 2.0 do consider adding points on recent price hike. Though it is with every brand but today Kushaq Style 1.0 automatic in Delhi cost around 20L on which dealers are giving discounts and it will cost around 19 with all SMP etc. However Kia XTX is 18L you take it or not. So my concern is why these brands cant keep price competitve enough that it kills it competition then n there. Though you me Munish ji say verbally or through your esteem channel that dont underestimate the power of 1L but from a buyers perspective it surely impacts the sub concious mind that is it worth spending 20L on 1l engine?
Very informative video sir thanks for the explanation 😊. Can you please through some light on my small query do we need to turn off AC before we turn off the car.
Sir I am having slavia 1.0 style manual and I have a problem with ac in my city the resolution has not started but the dealer is saying by April it will be resorted. And ya exactly my compressor is tripping and I felt that while driving that all of the sudden hot air is coming instead of colf
i got my ac update done, i think the ac is cooling much cooler now and the tripping issue is gone, will be able to test better in summers. but now the ac keeps running, even when I completely shut it down (OFF). is this normal for all cars ? please some one comment on this

I didn't found this issue in skoda kushaq 🤨
On Venue 1.2 l petrol, i have seen that the idle RPM is 600 rpm and when ac on it shifts to 700 rpm. But the AC coolings are very efficient. Probably 4 cylinder engine is the reason

23:35 loved the way you put up that question 👍
It has to be asked 🙏

I had a celerio manual before, before Virtus 1L torque converter. I've faced this issue already, but the issue i faced in celerio was usually when used to overtake or higher RPM, i mean specifically on higher engine load😅. I've never faced this issue in Virtus

Not gone Through the video yet sunder Ji
Bt my understanding on AC fix issue. Will edit this after seeing your video, offic calls now 😜
I suspect issue was only for Auto AC. Here is why.
If we understand the chronology
Initially many of us were facing AC issues,
Actions
1) They stopped/ reduced production of style varaint,
2) Compeletely Stoped ambition model
3) Introduced Ambition classic and they said Ambition model is completely closed.
4) They sold only Ambition classic and Active models that had manual Ac's. Somewhere around July to August.
(I asked for style varaint during this, they strictly said me.. don't take style sir, it's over priced not value for money, u will get more milage in ambition due to smal tyre etc etc)
They did not even allowed me to discuss on Style
Gave me nice discount so I can focus on Ambition classic only
This was done by 2 different dealers, same words and same way of approch.
I Believe after some time they fixed the Ac issues
5) During Dassera i found Ambition classic model is now closed, And Ambition model
With Auto AC are back, but very less stock.
May be they are not producing Ambition and Active now, (they say they are exporting, only God knows the truth here)
So i understand that Ac issues were only in Auto AC model, and they stoped that cars, and later again started producing it once issue was fixed
That's a really interesting point and makes complete sense too.
I have a 5 yrs old Vento and prior to that I had a Verna. There is no tripping issue in Vento. But it's cooling is surely much less than Verna. Can I improve Vento's cooling?
Manish bhai, you are Genius. 🙏
Perfect example of Agility - faster time to market, fail early and recover faster!!
Common public won't understand the Agile method VW is using with so much rigor.
Yeh dono loag bilkul high quality hai , jaisi cars ko yeh support kar rahe hai !
I have the same issue in my Taigun dec 2022 model
Sunderdeep & Manish keep up the Good Work.......

Hello Sir,
I have Kushaq 1.0 MT.

Very relevant and informative. Thanks guys
What issues u r seeing in Škoda Kushaq
I am planning but doubt hei Hyrider Hybrid
I am listening you minutely,Manish is gem carry on..😊
Thank you Sundardeep’ji & Manish’ji for bringing a gem of a series.
22:00
I have Honda Amaze, it idles at 700-800 as per needle and there is no error
I can challenge any car brand, no car AC is stronger and cooler than a Ford. Worst are Hyundai's.
Tata Nexon onwards (Harrier, Safari etc.) have better ACs than any other cars
agree its can cool whole cabin within in a minutes

Very true my dad had fiesta diesel ac was superb. I have Hyundai i20 diesel even its ac is good compared to my dads kushaq 1.0. I am not saying Skoda has bad ac but compared to my i20 I think it is bad
Quite informative and helpful. Request you to also cover Auto Stop Start feature, issues it causes in bumper to bumper traffic and possible solution by VW. I believe if this component is re calibrated to cutoff after 4 seconds of idling it will become more useful.
The main problem is the battery heating up
Cause, if you did drive any smart hybrid vehicles in suzuki like breeze, scross, etc. Then you will know that they have 2 batteries one is for engine and another is dedicated to START AND STOP usage, which included multiple ignitions of engine
So it doesn't casue any severe damage to your primary battery and the other battery is mainly designed for the START STOP feature. But here in VW or Škoda it's not the same, they are using same for battery for multiple purposes which is not good
Nice video. But I think real testing would be done in the summers when ac is subjected to maximum load.

the issue in the algorithm in VAG cars or the huge blind spot in Tata Harrier are the very reasons why you should be skeptical in being an early adopter/buyer of an automobile be it a car or a bike.
