Danni & Joe
Joe, although you say you don’t like to show yourself when you don’t know what you are doing, you sure make it look seamless when you are making the repairs necessary for you narrowboat. You are taking a lemon and making lemonade.I love how Danni and you work together. Cheers from New Jersey, USA.
Ah wow thank you! We're learning a lot from this project!
Hi Guys I love your chanel great Job your doing with the boar love the bloopers ..Love from Blue Mountains Australia 🇦🇺🌻🌈🌻
Joe and Danni your narrowboat conversion seems to be moving along quite nicely!! Just remember that things take time to do them well!! You may be a beginner but you also know what you're doing!. Have a blessed week and catch ya on the next one!.
Thank you!
Wow! That engine compartment & engine look amazing... just like factory new. You both really are doing a great job. Many thanks. Pete
Thanks Pete!!
For future reference when approaching template issues like making the right shaped piece of plywood to put around the door. If you pop down to a shop that sells wall paper, like B&Q for instance. You can get, for real cheap, a roll of plain white paper used as backing paper for wall paper. It's basically a cheap way of getting rolls of craft paper. That way you can make paper templates.
Great idea, thanks!
Was going to recommend the same! 😊Alternatively you can stick other paper together with tape and make a big template that you can transfer straight onto the ply.
Great choice of music while Danni's priming the patches. You're a sweet couple you two.
Thanks so much!!
Boats coming on great. Well done. Funny isn’t it? Most Narrowboats have their Batteries stored in the most inaccessible and coolest place (most of the time) on the Boat. This means longer Cable runs and extreme variations in temperature and a Pig to fit!!
Thank you, yeah it's a toss up between shorter charging cables for the batteries & longer runs for appliances & vice versa! Hopefully the diesel heater being mounted in the engine bay will keep them fairly warm through the winter!
I always enjoy watching your progress, problem solving as you go, and explanations of steps forward, like a well oiled machine!
Thanks for watching!
So brave doing it all yourself, fabulous video :)
Thank you!!
That engine bay is looking superb! 👏👏👏
Thank you!
Moving right along! You may enjoy making the videos, but I bet we enjoy watching them more. Lovely job. All the best from Missouri.
Thank you!
IT is always nice to see your vlogs.
Thank you!
This is an inspiring channel. Joe seems such a patient, unflappable bloke. Just a thought; you should be careful to try and balance the weight on both sides of your boat or else you will find it lists to one side. I made that mistake with mine and had to move some heavier things to the other side.
Thats really kind, thank you! Yeah we've tried to bare this in mind when initially ballasting the boat & we've hopefully accounted for the majority of the weight running down one side as the other side (starboard) will be the walkway!
Hello Joe & Danni.....First off, the Engine Bay looks great. The Boat is coming along nicely. It won't be long before the walls go up. Looking forward to seeing you make the Cabinets for the Gally. You and Danni make a great team, See you next week.👍
Thank you!
so cool my friend
Thank you!
Well done Joe. You are such a hard working skilful young man 👍
Thanks so much!
Another great video, thanks for taking us along. On many of your videos you mention how your knees are suffering. You need to dig out the knee pads more often you'll thank your self in later life.
Keep up the good work it's looking great.
I've definitely been digging my knee pads out more often, hopefully my knees don't well & truly pack in before the boats finished!
Nice video.
Here's a tip for holesaws. After you drill in and start your cut, pull it back out, take a small bit (a bit bigger than the teeth) and drill a couple holes around the circumference of the hole.
This gives a place for the metal chips to go and makes drilling much faster.
That’s a great tip & funnily enough that’s what I did when we went back the next day!
In the 1960s and 70s there was gasket paper available in different thicknesses and heat ranges that you bought and cut to your particular size ( as the sizes and shapes i wanted, were not readily available ), then red hermatite gasket sealant, then hermatite gold and now there is silicon gasket sealants .
Yes I've heard of gasket paper but never used it!
Class video love a Sunday catching up with you guys and the build and see how she's coming along excellent video best of luck ☺ 👍
Thanks for watching!
Might be an idea to adjust the valve clearances on the engine while you have a spare rocker cover gasket, Who knows when those were adjusted last if ever. It can make a significant improvement to the running on these engines.
Not something I've done before to be honest, would you recommend a video to watch or a blog?
@@ItsOhJoe It's quite a simple process a spanner a screwdriver and some feeler gauges is all you need, there should be plenty of youtube videos all you need to know is the valve clearance(s) thickness for that particular engine. ua-cam.com/video/ZFvwyCroV2w/v-deo.html This is for a Mini which is virtually identical technique to your engine only the clearance's may differ. Find out the engine model and then find the clearances you need
Great work matey.
Thank you!
Been watching all your vlogs this week your both doing a fab job. Looking forward to the rest of the project
Thanks so much!
Just loving watching these vlogs 😊 making us want a narrow boat 😅 we are going to try a narrow boat holiday this year . Danni Lovin your style love the baggy trousers with the red waistband where are the from xx
Thank you! Oooh not sure on brand but they’re from a Nepalese store I think!
Hi Danni and Joe the boat is coming along well. Great work and we enjoy the vlogs. That engine and the bay look awesome - very clean and well done. Oh by the way Joe your knowledge is fantastic and extensive plus you clearly think things through with care and love for the boat build. Until next time cheers Keith & Helen Melbourne Auzz.
Ah thank you, that's really lovely to hear!
Its better to take 3hrs doing a job, than rush and do it 1hr and be unhappy with the result. Getting nearer to your goal, great to watch.
Thank you!
Adorable video....
Looking Gorgeous and this upload made my day.
Thank you!
Pretty cool stuffs buddy
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this great challenge. I know there must be times when you wonder how you can keep going, so just keep going!!
Thank you! Great encouragement
You seem to do good work...keep on !!!
Thank you 😊
Great video guys.
Thank you!
Another great vlog :) Getting closer to buying my boat so need all the help I can get! Have a lovely week! Jay x
You can do it! Thanks for watching Jay!
Well done
Thank you!
Getting on well. I heard Danni mention 1700mm relating to the bathroom. Standard length of a bath. It will be hugely disproportionate to the amount of confined space in a narrowboat, as opposed to a shower.
The way it's being laid out shouldn't make much difference whether there is a bath or shower tray in it's place as it's the full width of the bathroom. Plus Danni really wants a bath.
It's coming along nicely now your doing a great job 👍
Thank you!
Hi Danny Joe,great blog as usual, everyday you work on your boat is another day closer to the big day ,so excited for both of you ,you are both so determined to make this your own,got to say Joe why don’t you learn to weld it would come in so useful owning a boat stronger then riveting, just my opinion no offence meant,,this was very interesting blog really enjoy it ,so till next time take care keep safe,John 🤷♀️🤷♀️👏👀😂🇬🇧🌹💃🥸🥸
Thanks John! Yes something I've always wanted to learn but not found the time, once the boats done I might take up a course & then for the next project I'll be ready!
Hi guys your doing a great job here, really enjoying your work. Do yourself a favour and get some knee pads makes la huge difference. Cheers from Australia.
I do have some it’s just remembering to wear them, it’s always the little jobs you think oh I’ll just do this or just do that and before you know it you’re on your knees for half an hour with no pads!
Looking forward to take part of your wiring vlog. I don't think there are two of you boaters who has the same solution to wiring.
Thank you, yes it does seem that way!
good vid
Thank you!
Absolutly love your vlogs, binge watched them all and really can't wait to see how your boat turns out. With regards to the wiring, have you give any thought to throwing some cat 5e/cat 6 cable down your flexicon so you can have ethernet ports for laptops and Smart Devices.
Thank you! Good thought, we're going to mainly be tethering off of a mobile phone as only really use one laptop. We're installing a Victron setup which connects to our app so should be able to access monitoring wirelessly through that!
Best to mount batteries inside especially Lithium or later conversion. Also might want to consider second alternator.
It's a compromise on space, by having them in the engine bay we're saving space inside - we're hoping with the diesel heater being mounted in the engine bay also it will keep them fairly healthy through winter & there's always a possibility of re-homing into the electrics cabinet should we upgrade to Lithium in the future!
When you fit your heater make sure your air intake is sucking air from inside the cabin otherwise you’ll be blowing dirty engine bay smells in to your cabin area
Yes great point!
Yes you can just get cardboard and make the shape to the plywood ez the fact is you can glue the plywood in
Thank you, good tip!
Great video as always guys, watched you from day one!!! Quick question what size are your batteries & where's the best place to purchase? Take care & thanks again for sharing your awesome journey 👍💙💖
Thanks so much! We've got 6 x 130ah Hankook batteries, we got them from Battery Megastore - we used the same batteries in our Sprinter and for the money they're really great value!
@@ItsOhJoe thanks guys 👍💙💖
Please can I ask what make of chop saw you use. You’re using it a lot, so you must like it.
It's made by Einhell, it's slightly more towards the DIY side but it was only around £120 + a bit extra for batteries and charger but it's been so handy. The cheapest Makita (to match my other tools and batteries) was about £450!
Nice makati tools
Hello! Where you are you two based? We have a narrowboat which we are working on too. We are just en route from Cornwall to home in Manchester! And we were wondering where about you are? :-)
Hey, Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire ☺️
@@ItsOhJoe heyyy are you at the boat today?!?
@@chelseakyle5125 Yeah for another hour or so! Pop an email over for contact details danniandjoetravel@gmail.com

Thank you!
Ah right, so The NHS is NOT shut down? How silly of me! Try get a Doctor’s appointment, Hospital Tests or Cancer Treatment though! Mind you they can spend £100’s of Thousands on Diversity and Inclusion training for Staff. Meanwhile Thousands are dying from a lack of treatment. Time for good Nurses & Doctors to get back to work and no more of this BS. Oh, my sister is an Experienced Nursing Sister in a large English Hospital. She tells it as it is. She is so disgusted she is contemplating jacking her job. (Yes I know not all NHS Staff are crap.)
Hitler was left handed. Just saying
I hope that's the only thing we have in common
He also only had one ball. just saying
@@garychamley3095 Joe definitely has two of those!
