    Don't forget the storage room in the steps that you will have to put in, an ideal place for windlasses, mooring stakes, hooks, chains, mallet etc. Also, even houses are not square whether new or old build, you are worrying too much about things that don't warrent worrying about, its all looking grand from here. After all when finished, you will have a boat that you will know every inch intimately, there are not that many people who can boast that. All i'm worried about is,"Have you made provision for the electric lighting in the ceiling, as you do not seem to have run any cables up to where they will be mounted before fixing all that cladding".👍👍👍

    • @ItsOhJoe
      @ItsOhJoe  3 роки тому

      Thanks Frank! Yeah Danni's uncle is helping us make some nice storage steps as he's a carpenter and although I could build some, we want them as sturdy and well made as possible! Yes true, it seems even brand new boats aren't square so that's reassuring. So lighting cables are being run in the ceiling, with the switches being mounted in stud walls so they'll come at a later stage, thanks for watching!

    Hi Danni and Joe, If you like the raw wood, have you thought of cladding the ceiling With the raw wood and just put a sealer on it? Although it may look like lots of white, in a smaller area it will be beneficial to make it seem larger. You can jazz up the boat by using colorful bed linens, pillows and curtains. I know whatever you 2 decide it will look fab. Cheers from New Jersey, USA.

    • @ItsOhJoe
      @ItsOhJoe  3 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! Typically we're using plywood on the ceiling so it will go white but there will be natural timber trims down either side and the bottom half of the walls are being painted in Danni's choice of colours so hopefully it will balance out - we're keeping the Tongue & Groove white though as like you said white helps in smaller spaces!

    Well done guys - if it was visual progress that you wanted you have it in spades. Its looking great now - but also just go back a few videos and look at yourselves when you were scraping the crap off the inside of the baseplate. You have worked miracles on that narrowboat - OK so there's more to do.
    For now find some time to get dressed up go out for a meal and drinks you are doing fantastic!
    ps We bought a Camping Gaz Camp Bistro 2 after we kept seeing yours 🤣🤣🤣🤣 no we are not buying a boat - we just want to cook stuff outdoors for our grankids and great grandson. Go Danni n Joe

    Ouch! Please put some safety in place on the window hinges. Danni could have really hurt herself, I felt it too!! You r a real handyman Joe I am sure u can think of something! Good vlog, it's all looking good!🙌.

      I think the simple solution is for Danni to constantly wear a helmet! We are looking for something to cover them when we figure out what we're trimming the windows with though as in all seriousness they could hurt! Thanks so much

    Really interesting job, well done! As a carpenter I would have paneled right across those windows and then cut out, saves all those cuts and jigsaw profiling the arch of the window. Just purchasing my third boat for renovation.The last one! Just subscribed , thank you.
