Loved this video and huge congratulations on a fantastic ride. This brings back a few memories. I did the official LLCR130 (Liverpool to Leeds) RUNNING race in August 2022. A continuous race. Finished in about 33 hours. Hardest thing I’ve ever done.
I am right with you on your fears for what the world will be like in 50 years (It's even changed a lot since you posted this video!) And I agree with your assessment of the horrendous buildings. Sigh. As you got closer to central London you mentioned seeing more people...did you feel threatened at all? I think big city, I think crime. Looking forward to the final leg. It is wonderful how technology helped you find that alternate room for two nights and helped you navigate---so I guess not all "progress" is as bad as I think. 🙂
Thanks, just had a disaster today cycling the TT course on the Isle of Man, my camera came off the bike and couldn't find it, expensive day and no vlog 😩
Sorry, I disagree, canals are easy to put in the miles, the very reason I ride them in the first place. If you choose a busy Summer weekend you may encounter more foot traffic but as long as you give courtesy warning bell rings and thank people I rarely encounter any issues. Yes you do get the odd one with a bee in their bonnet who have had issues with discourteous cyclists, I've had them myself and, sadly, one of two have been really very bad. Good manners cost nothing even though they aren't always acknowledged. Still, that's their problem not mine.
Do you not thank people who stand aside for you and those who specifically who make an effort to control their dogs? It is something, along with a courtesy ring of my bell, I NEVER fail to do. Simple courtesy.
How long did it take you? great video enjoyed watching that.
2 days,thank you 👍
I am doing the section from Skipton to Wigan in summer as i was inspired by your video.

Well done. That was some bike ride. Those beer breaks made me feel thirsty.

Love your videos, so entertaining, thank you and take care.
Thank you Michael
Diolch! You had wonderful weather for the ride. 90 miles is impressive especially with the cobblestones and bridge ducking.
Foolish rather, in hindsight should have enjoyed it more by taking more time, ah well 👍
Enjoyed your video I have done a lot of riding on the l&l canal great video . Well done david😊
Many thanks 👍
What's the campsite you stayed at in barnoldswick and is it right by the canal?
Bridge Holme Site got off at Greenberfield lock, about a mile from canal on a guess.
Good ride mate, just subscribed.

We don't have Spoons in Australia, but I am visiting England in September and will try a pint.

I enjoyed watching you ride - I am preparing to do this (there and back again) in April / May. Did you carry a tent? Any tips?
