  • Finally we head to Liverpool to start the Leeds to Liverpool Canal , 127 miles over 3 days in testing conditions to say the least.
Day one we set off from Liverpool in sunshine but will it last , how will the towpaths be after a never ending winter of rain.
Join us for a memorable trip along this iconic canal.

More like an assault course in places Dave, - apart from the mud what an adventure! Great scenery, I remember walking along that section of the L/L canal into Gargrave when I walked the PW a couple of years ago...great memories. Thanks for taking us along, top-class filming as always. well done both.

I live in Burnley and spend many a day walking that canal to help get ready for my walks in the Lakes. Plenty of little cafes and watering holes make it worth while.

  • @Moffatmountainadventures

Looked a cracking adventure. Got the weather for it too

  • @snowymatrix

Good one Dave and mate, no shame in Premier Inning it especially as you got tarps and coffin like tents etc! You'd been better off walking it on some of those atrocious towpaths! 👍😎🍺🍺

  • @retrogee7906

Great to see you two back on the wheels great vid

  • @barneysbimbles

Nice one, those rutted towpaths didnt look much fun! Great adventure though. Has got me thinking about doing something similar, the Grand union canal from Brum to London perhaps! 👍

  • @shabingly

Oooh, ta for filming this: wife is interested in doing it walking from the other end (we live in Saltaire) but I reckon it'd be a slackpack event.

  • @bluehighfly

Great adventure there Dave, them tow paths looked brutal plus a massive last day. Well done. I noticed you passed a place called Saltaire , it’s the start of the Dales highway walk , 90 miles to Appleby. It’s one I’ve been looking at doing. Atb Darren

Stealthy looking set ups, your vango and Ians tarp were the perfect colours. Such accessible paths next to the canals, I could only dream of walking next to water for that long... all muddy fields and fences round here if I want to walk by water. Grim weather, good idea to bail and camp indoors 👍at least you finished it.

  • @northumberlandmountainhopper

Hi Dave, great trip, I may have to try the north east coast on my bike, see about strapping the rucksack on the carrier !!!

  • @AntSurviveTheNight

Bloody long slog that Dave mate. I woukd love to have a bash at that myself. I need to get a few more packs for the bike to hold gear really.

  • @lyndengrant1657

Some of them rural towpaths didn't look much fun, how you didn't end up in the canal I don't know! I once went to Blackburn just once. Love the house with the railwayana on!

  • @Markwildcamp

There was a few times on that vid I thought your mate was going to end up in the drink. I have always fancied life on a narrowboat, but I reckon being a gongoozler on a bike is as near I will get to that dream.

Deffo enjoy over endure. I'd've done exactly the same. A great way of exploring the country with lots of interesting sights. An old Granada telly sign caught my eye on an old mill near the jet-ski 🤔. Good to see the double arches at East Marton too, I remember that from the Pennine Way. ATB, Chris

Ex Pat Brit here in Bogo City Ph biking here is great! some main roads are ok for road bikes, but I have found a MTB better for lower class and country roads - AND its hot its dam hot! - I enjoy your content!

  • @garywelch7969

Great video, Dave enjoyed the bike packing pub crawl. Hope you enjoyed your pint in my local pub, Running Horses in Lydiate/Maghull.

  • @Wessexphotography

What an exellent adventure Dave. And pubs and pies 🥧 great stuff.. bikes held up well.

  • @BikeCamperJBelo

AMAZING! SUPERB! you guys are so lucky! to have great place! fr.the philippines!

  • @camperwheeler5183

shocking amount of clag on some sections -surprising for a towpath

  • @ronpowell6372

Another nice one Dave….binge watching this afternoon. Those clarty sections were a chuff weren’t they but well done and you can’t beat a Premier or Travelodge as a back up and normally decent bait too.
