Dude although Thunder armor doesn't make any sense but the writers cleared at the beginning of the Hoen series that ash's Swellow can take multiple Thunder Attack without any problem ... so it isn't that much weird maybe that Swallow's father was a electric pokemon or a pokemon with lightning rod ability, who knows
I've done an ash run of x and y using the pokemon he used in kalos and it was easy. No items no over levelling and all pokemon and moves he used in each fight. It was the easiest and quickest play through at 30 hours
It's cool that you decided to go back to a Generation 6 game. I really like this notion; it makes the challenge more 🔥. It also retains its absolute "hilariousness"! Definitely do more challenges in earlier generations, please!

I love the idea of only using the amount of pokemon the gym leader uses, just like in the anime I always wanted to do that, and ur video is making me consider doing that the next time I revisit or play a pokemon game
An optimisation you could have done in this run would have been to utilise Swellows guts ability by prepoisoning/burning it before a fight. That way due to its high speed stat it would be able to deal even more damage (and before someone mentions it guts ignores the attack drop from burn). I know you used it at the end but theres a few instances where it would have made some fights a lot easier

Just did my first playthrough of ORAS ever. Caught a Tailow with Boomburst as my first Pokémon besides the starter. Move does 140 power with 100 accuracy and hits the whole arena in double or horde battles. Little bird was an absolute beast all the way through the E4.
I was Ash in dunno I And I chose Chimchar The Pokemon I have right now are Infernape Glailie Snowver Pikachu Staraptor ALAKAZAM Machoke Gengar Tauros Dratini Aipom And some Pokemon to trade
My favorite of Ash’s Hoenn Pokémon is Sceptile because it’s so cool, it’s battles were amazing and HE TOOK DOWN A DARKRAI WHO KEPT REGENERATING WITH DREAM EATER SO I DONT WANNA HEAR THAT DARKRAI GOT SOFTENED DOWN
My favourite hoenn pokemon of ash is Torkoal as he is a lot strong in his zone and is quite underrated but he is really cool and strong .People who have used torkoal in their hoenn playthrough feel the same as in my opinion.Plus Torkoal was my first shiny team member in Pokemon Emerald.
At least the way he beat Brock made sense... the water got rid of Onyx's grund typing, which meant Pikachu's Thundershock was effective. In Hoen... yeah, no. There's no such thing as "aim for the horn" in a Geodude. But I think your rule of only using Ash's moves is a bit detrimental at times. In this case, it would be okay to make an exception.
