Keegan I hate to break it to you but Ash had a Haunter in the original seriese. There is even an episode titled Haunter vs Kadabra where Ashes Haunter fights Sabrinas Kadabra. You probably could have grinded on Haunters too.

He'd befriend most of his team. He'll befriend every Pokemon in Hisui. He's also a Gigachad who can climb a cliff with a fork and knife.

Playing as Ash Ketchum means:
-using thunder type moves on ground types
-ignoring type advantages/weaknesses
-not evolving most of your Pokemon
-using the terrain in your battles (no Charizard's fireblast didn't miss ash is trying to melt the battlefield)
-win a Gym badge without battling(save a gloom or something)
To be fiar it more like his pokemon dont want to evol.most of the evol one nearly became either overstat or have some power go along with.

Thanks. I’m watching the video as research for my own playthrough as Ash, and I really didn’t want to make the list myself. Only difference in my playthrough is I’m allowing Ash’s Pokemon the chance to evolve further, which they didn’t get in the anime.
@@HiradfunandLearn12345he did in the Johoto series! It was a young Lapras that got beached, kids had horribly hurt it, and the group (Misty+Ash+Tracey) took to the center. It was their surfer until they found lapras’s pod

Actually, Ash did have a haunter, though only for a short time. It was in the episode right before Sabrina’s gym in the original series. It helped ash defeat Sabrina’ s gum but ended up staying behind at the gym to hang our with Sabrina
Ash did not catch it though. He befriended Haunter like many other pokemon, but did not catch it.

My favorite Pokémon that Ash had was his Sceptile. He just oozes coolness. Especially with the Darkrai battle.

Depends on which version of Ash, Before Alola? If it's a filler arc, maybe.... Main arcs? No never, Alolan Ash? yes, Journey's Ash? Don't know, reboot movie Ash? He will come close but will win Arceus's trust.

@@renitsukishe8740 It helps that Ash was hovering around the same weight class as the Kalos Elite Four around the point he was prepping for his Gym match with Wulfric. Seeing as he all but defeated Alain (who defeated Malva at a handicap prior) in their second bout, fought on even keel with Diantha for a while, and later went on defeat Sawyer at the Kalos League (who himself defeated Ash during the timeframe as the prior two feats). Dude was bordering on Champion tier if not already there by the time he faced Alain for the third and final time, and the fights with both Lysandre and the Megalith illustrated that progression beautifully.

Btw you can acces get goomy as soon as you get access to crimson mirelands by jumping with wyrdeer then swim then barely make it(less important petilil too) Which was how I got a overleveled goomy and petitil as well as being able to buy a sun stone so I got a lvl 33 hus-liligant before fighting the lord liligent

Honestly, I had no idea the final boss fight could change, for me I caught dialga then palkia, I think this may be because I chose Adaman to help me with the lake pokemon. 19:17
you are correct, choosing the clan changes the origin forme you fight. there is also some dialogue differences when dealing with the spirits.

I just caught it with an Ultra Ball, on the other hand, Snorlax must have the lowest catch rate.

Technically Ash has had a Gastly and Haunter. In episode 90 of Journeys their Pokemon devolve and we get to see both of them on screen
Ash did have Haunter and Gastly, there was an episode where his Pokemon de-evolved thanks to dialga and palkia, it was for just a few moments but I would have call it fair game since Ash never CATCHED a lucario or staraptor, he evolved those

Who can say "no" to a Rowlet? Rowlet is a great Pokemon that evolves into Decidueye, which is (arguably) one of the best looking Pokemon (Hisuian or Alolan, doesn't matter!)
Yea, and Rowlet himself is such a sweeetie🥰 He reminds me of Aziraphale (from Good Omens) quite a lot haha

I can say no to Rowlet, because nostalgia makes me choose Turtwig (yeah I know he isn't one of the Hisui starters but whatever, still a cool grass starter)

My favorite Pokemon that Ash has is either his Snorlax, his Charizard. Honorable mentions for Muk, Kingler, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Lapras, Phanpy, Heracross and Pikachu. He also only kinda had them but shout outs to the baby Larvitar and Haunter.
I love the gengar dracovish and every Pokémon in journeys

You can actually get goomy without basculeigion if you go to the part of the cliff that is low surrounding the area where they are found. You can jump with wrydeer, and get an early game powerhouse. ( Goodra )
I had some serious plot armor against Giratina with my Gardevoir. She was my last Pokémon and I thought I was screwed.
You can take giratina down with any strong style fairy move tbh

Actually, Ash DID catch a haunter when he was going to battle Sabrina, but ultimately left it in her care because Ash thought Sabrina needed haunter more than he did

I love that Ash's main pokemon and the mascot of the franchise is Pikachu. A pokemon that is actually complete ass. The stats and move pool of that thing is awful
The movepool is kinda decent.Thunderbolt,Play Rough,Draining Kiss,Volt Tackle,Iron Tail,Surf,Grass Knot,Dig etc.
that means your trash man. no offense. any pro player or nuzlocker would be proud of having pikachu since he has a lot of decent moves that allows to set a strategy. since you know? he is a lightning type with a higher special attack. his a glass canon that's worthy.

@@christopherfleetwood5252 one, but seeing as how the anime isn't the games and really the type advantage doesn't matter in either, in the games, you're good so long as you have different types of moves to cancel it out, and it is a basic strategy, it matters less than people think.
The sisters weren’t great villains, but at least they are better than team yell, because they are somewhat involved in the plot

My favorite pokemon Ash had was his Gible. It was a cute, I loved how it kept biting Ash, and the Draco Meteor bit with Piplup was funny to me. Plus them using this bit to help find Piplup was cool to me and creative. So Gible is my favorite pokemon Ash caught.

U know chimchar and monferno spawn much earlier in thr first area not needing basculegion also u can cheese a lot of areas to get to with stantler or ursaluna imax item run i tried this challenge and it was easier with quilava just do it evolving once from cyndaquil for the dex also counting mons ash had “ownership” of such as haunter

He never officially caught it, merely befriended it. As it was not in a Pokeball, it never appeared when Ash tried to use it in battle with Sabrina (later appearing and playing with Sabrina by making faces). The Haunter decided to remain with Sabrina after Ash won the battle by default.
Lets be honest, at least Dialga looks more like Arceus than Palkia does.

4:32 with some good wyrdeer movement you can get goomy before fighting noble lilligant as ash did have a goomy, sligoo, and goodra in the x and y series that he later released so im not sure about the qualifications for that one

Space-time distortion isn't the ONLY way to get wild Gengar. If you have access to a wild outbreak of Haunter, Gengar can occasionally spawn in place of a defeated Haunter. This method is much more efficient than waiting on a random space-time distortion to occur in the vague hope of a specific Pokémon spawning in it.

Technically Ash HAS owned a Haunter... and a Gastly. I'm not talking about any of the Tower of Terror pokemon from Season 1 of the anime either, during the Parallel Sinnoh arc that was recently in Journeys, AU Team Rocket had Dialga and Palkia fighting, which created a bizarre effect on time - resulting in pokemon slowly de-aging and eventually going back to being eggs. As such, Ash's Gengar and Dragonite were de-aged over the time he spent in that dimension - first a Haunter and Dragonair, then a Gastly and Dratini.
This 24 minute video would take around a solid 245 episodes

In theory Ash had Ghastly and Haunter in the episode when Arceus de-evolved his Pokemon. Also he had Pichu in the same episode.
You actually realize that every battle there is at least one of his Pokémon that Keegan hasn’t obtained yet.
Aim for the horn of a ground type pokemon with a thunderbolt is a must
ash had a haunter back in kanto, it just didnt stay with him after the sabrina fight. he had been dead for a short amount of time. he met a ghastly, haunter and gengar during these episodes but only got followed by haunter.
He never caught the Haunter
I know other people put it in here already but he did own a haunter for a brief time in the first season.. it's surprising how many Pokemon he had that ended up in this one .
