    Patience is key with these rigs. So many people run them a couple of times and call em trash. Awesome video man

      Thanks brotha, I try and convey that message to everyone. Half the fun is running these trucks and figuring out how to improve them. Anyone can slap 4.7 tires on a linked rig loaded with brass to make it capable. Its nice to sit and concentrate in improvement areas of these trucks for me.

    I just won the Marlin from the RC4WD End of Year Giveaway. I'm new to modern RC and I've never had a leaf spring rig so I've been watching a bunch content in anticipation of its arrival. Thank you for these tips.

    • @RcDungeon
      @RcDungeon  6 місяців тому

      That's awesome!!!! You are very welcome as well, I can answer whatever questions you need help with. Be careful of the Facebook groups they'll have you blowing wasted money on bunch of A&M mods you don't need, lots of options that provide just as good performance with more scale features.

    • @TyJoe_N_MattyMoe
      @TyJoe_N_MattyMoe 6 місяців тому +1

      @@RcDungeon I've seen a lot of BS in those groups. I'll probably take the inner springs out after I drive it completely stock for a while. I'm thinking of going really scale with it, but everyone is sold out of interiors. I'll definitely undercoat it to make the color deeper.

    • @RcDungeon

      @@TyJoe_N_MattyMoe yes sir definitely black out under the body huge difference! Yes the group stuff is ok to browse around in but you'll get lot of the you gotta have this and that and more $$$$ wasted then what you truly need. I try and cover real usable mods for what I say a capable scale driven trail rig can make use of without breaking the bank. Thank you for watching and commenting as well 🙏

    Thanks for the video, just bought a TF2 myself and have just removed the internal shock springs and the smallest leaf spring. I was still finding it rather stiff and didn't realize that you can gain more flex by breaking it in. I'll definitely be hitting the trails with it to get some miles on it and see how it improves!

    • @RcDungeon
      @RcDungeon  Рік тому +2

      Hey glad you found this useful. I have some other videos on here that'll help ya out with improving the suspension and keeping the scale aspect of the leaf suspension. Also to help speed the break in process I'd recommend removing your leafs and flattening them gently with your hand it'll help aid with softening them up

    Just found your site and subed like what your doing with the TF2/3 I love these things almost like messin with the rear thing. I did however convert one of mine to a 3-link in the front and leaf in the rear and it works awesome the other truck is still all leaf with A&M front shackle reverse and anti wrap bar and raised skid plate. They both work super can't drive em enough. Thanks

    I like to set up the rear springs with 3 leaves, but I cut the back ends off the helper leaves. This prevents axle wrap but still gives good flex.

      Yes as they say more than one way to skin a cat lol! Just taking the time to break in the leafs is key

    Very interesting! Beautiful garage and fleet! I have the 4runner too and it‘s quite new. I bought the reverse shackles but haven‘t mounted them yet. If i‘ve seen correctly, did you remove the front shocks on the 4runner? Do you think it‘s possible to modify the mounts in the front, do the shock length wouldn‘t limit the flex?
    On mine the leaves aren‘t broken in yet. I get 2mm reserve compression on the front and then they block.
    I thought about maybe driving it without the shocks for a while to break the leaves in faster. But i prefer the look with the shocks in it.
    I love the tf2‘s.
    Greetings from Switzerland!

      Hey thanks for stopping by and checking out the channel. I have several different videos on here describing shock setup and shock hoops and what the best setup I've found to work and still keep the scale of the stock looking truck without extensive shock angles and having to modify things as to disturb the original parts much. Thanks again for your time watching.

    I have tried to get my leafs broken in and they’re still stiff as a fresh cut oak board. I’m giving up and gonna go link suspension on my Marlin.

    • @RcDungeon
      @RcDungeon  2 місяці тому

      Yah some of the older rc4wd with the standard leafs sometimes are just overly stiff. I could recommend getting the soft ones Rc4wd offers. If your wanting the most performance I'd go with linked though. If been kicking around the idea of actually linking one of mine to be honest. No matter what you do leaf wise your not gonna get the travel you get from a proper linked setup

      @@masonwiggins9658 I'd highly recommend an Anti Wrap bar especially with the red leafs. For most articulation and keeping it scale I'd get the taller front shock hoops for front with the 80mm shocks and 90mm in rear. I think I have have other videos going over different setups and explaining it.

    What are the wheels and tires on the Marlin

    • @RcDungeon
      @RcDungeon  2 місяці тому

      Those were the 1.55 Rc4wd Mudd Slinger on Element 1.55 wagon wheels. Great tire! I've pulled those now and running the 1.55 3.85 Rock Beasts but honestly I feel those Muddslingers from Rc4wd were a better tire. The Muddslingers were around a 4inch tall height mounted to those Element wheels.
