I live in South Pasadena and that night forever changed the city. We saw 5 feet of flooding rip through my neighborhood, but thankfully, my apartment is 6 feet above the ground. I feel really bad for my neighbors who live at ground level. They still have not repaired their house and no one has moved back into the little duplexes on the same street.
Yeah it is tough and there are still a lot of people that have not recovered. I have seen businesses that have decided not to rebuild and have left. Sad all around.
I’ve been here for almost 10 years. When I first moved here I lived in Treasure Island myself, right on the water bayside. I can’t imagine what it looks like now with the storm surge. Thanks for watching.
@@88mphadventures terrible. Lived at imperial Tahitian now Tahitian Retreat. Worked at Albertsons grocery across street from seminole mall. Still stay at tahitian when on vacation. Who knows maybe we'll run into each other one day and grab a bite at Johns pass. Lived Gators. Anyway thanks for vid and God Bless you and St Petersburg. 🙏 Prayers for a speedy rebuild.
@@88mphadventuresI was over in Pinellas and came back on the Gandy around 1:30 PM it was picking up fast…I thought it was gonna be worse than people thought, but I didn’t think it was gonna be that bad. This is a very unpopular fact, but the seas of risen 10 to 12 inches since 1950 or so.. and the water temperature in the Gulf of Mexico is absurd, which contributed greatly to the unanticipated damage. I’ve been here 30 years storms that passed us 100 miles out into the gulf just brushed us. Maybe a couple feet of storm surge and a couple of squalls and that’s about it….not anymore
There’s actually a clip on here about John’s pass I think by one of the business owners that videoed after check it out. Yeah it’s still closed. You can’t get out there. The police have it blocked off looters what not you know I don’t even think resident can get back yet.
@@BufordTGleasonTrue. News said it is the worst storm surge we have had. Problem it seems now with warmer water temps is that the storms form and become huge storms so quickly!
Hopefully everyone stayed safe!!! The storm surge that came later that night did a lot of damage!!!
Thank you so much for filming this!! Our Happy Zone a couple of times a week for a beach walk.
You’re welcome!!! Hopefully you will be back to making that walk soon!!

My parents owned a unit at Ocean Shores - 11th floor. Sold about Fifteen years ago. Just over the causeway. Good memories.
@@marilyndietzman-vx5ts it’s a very nice area.
How long have you been in Florida. I lived in Treasure Island in 1977. Still vacation there. Breaks my heart the sand and devastation. Be safe buddy.

Sadly, the whole John's Pass Village took a major hit. Hubbard's Marina has a video posted of the damage.
Yeah I saw that video. Damage is very bad down there.
You should go back and film the day after the storm 🎉
I was going to but there is so much damage that they had it blocked off. I am going to try and go back when they open it up.

@@BufordTGleasonHubbards marina has a few different videos up on their Facebook page showing the aftermath. Doesn’t look good at all.

You were way early
Thanks for tricking me with the headline 😤 the storms impact means you would be there after the storm not before 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
It was the day of the storm not before.
