@@tv-21 I'm on the Texas Gulf Coast. No basements here because we're just above sea level. If we have an active tornado warning, we wait in the closet under the stairs.
I live in Rutherford Co NC. We’ve got 4 100 ft trees down in our yard. It felt like 6 hours but was probably 2.5-3. Running back and forth across the house trying to look for incoming trees. It’s all very surreal as I’m 29 and never experienced this living here. Always wanted to be in a hurricane though just didn’t expect to come to my doorstep.
Praise the Lord for taking care of you even with some damage. I have experienced a few hurricanes in my life and it is very scary. Hope you recover quickly
All of your plants are going triple in size by next week. All of that rain they received. When there's no flooding gardens thrive. Happy ya'll are safe
We’re in Hendersonville, NC. My garden of 30 yrs was washed out about 6’ deep. No power for 13 days, but we have a generator. Tree of 100’ hit my chicken run. Both children’s homes flooded, but everyone is alive. We’re 3 weeks since Helene hit and we have zero response from FEMA. Prayers for everyone. During Sandy in NY, i had a lady approach me on a street saying she has no food left and can't cook with anything. I've asked if her stove is a gas stove - it turns out it is, and she just didn't know that she could cook and boil water, she was so happy 😊 In the whole neighborhood, only 1 store had a generator and offered free charging of cell phones - the store owner has helped so many of us at the time - people started to come onto the streets asking each other if they are Ok. A street of cars was at a stand still - all out of gas, so the roads were shut, but the beach had foragers already. When people help each other it is very valuable ! I was alone with a child at the time and was very scared, but the neighbors made me feel safer ! But to this day I always keep a hand saw in my car.
A nice little solar cell phone charger. I have enough woods to cook outside for years. But best of all, we have a rural co-op electric company that we, THE PEOPLE OWN! We 💗 love our Rural Electric Co-Op! No Wall Street BS here!🤗
Just because you have a gas stove does not mean you can use it during a major storm or power outage. Gas stoves nowadays are electric starts and if powers out you can’t light the stove
@jadeswrapsandbraids Mine was working with a match - i did mention to the lady what I did know myself, she did not try to light her stove with a match. Get you an Anker generator! Very affordable and many sizes. Ours also has added solar panel. Stays charged forever. We love ours and able to power a lot of different appliances. Gives us plenty time to get our gas generator going.
We have used our generator for post hurricane power several times. We would plug in the freezer and refrigerator for long enough to stay cold until the next charging time, as long as nobody opened the door. Things like the milk, condiments, cheese etc that I'd need for the next meal I'd open the door and it went into a cooler with other frequent items and drinks, then bring it back to temp by using the generator. We had to do this for 10 days with the last hurricane and 2 weeks with the one before that. I'd make a new pot of coffee every time it was running and keep it warm in a thermos. Not having everything in the freezers be a total loss saved us so much money!
@@Jaynes-PathI kept frozen jugs of water in my freezer. During power outages, I put one in the fridge. It isn’t as effective for long term outages, but we did save our perishables during a 24-hour outage. This also helps keep additional potable water on hand.

There are Asian/Korean indoor butane burners used to cook food at the table. We had one back in the ‘92 Northridge quake that rocked Los Angeles. The gas lines were out for a week so we cooked using the butane table stove and heated our water for washing up. I still have the one we used back in the 90s. You never know when you’ll need it. Plus, I use it for Korean bbq at the table.

I'm so glad your family, your animals and your structures are all ok.
We are in leesville and had some trees down and a bit of damage to animal areas. Still without power and water- going on day 4. But God is good, all of us are safe and the community is so wonderful!
Thank the Lord that you are all safe! Helene has been a rough one!
I’m thankful y’all are okay
When I heard tree fell on homes
I started to worry and pray
Send my love to will, wes, Daniel ❤️
So grateful you guys are ok. Praying for everyone in the path of Helene. And I cant' believe how LOUD it was....omg...crazy loud.
Thank you for the update. Been worried about ya’ll. Pretty amazed that the treehouse is still standing with both of those massive oaks laid over. That is just mind blowing. Be safe cleaning up those trees, praying for all 🤍
Having been through 5 hurricanes when I lived in Destin FL, I speak from experience when I say to invest in a whole house generator on a concrete pad. First light reveals the devastation and then you can get a clean up plan. I pray your power is restored quickly so you don't loose the contents of your fridge/freezers. Praise God you did not have major damage! Pick up some camp stoves that use the little butane canisters and some instant coffee. Today we bless you and your Jess and give thanks.
Let this be a testament to jeremiah's Construction skills.. When you showed the trees down beside the tree house, that shows Miahs skills. Glad you all are safe.
So grateful you all are okay. Very concerned about the Rhodes family. Haven't seen anything from them yet. You two families(of the families I follow) are the only ones I'm aware were in the storm. Praying for all who were and are in the path. God bless you all. 🙏🙌🥰
Consider building a concrete house. I wouldn't live in Puerto Rico without one!! Including the roof!! Hope everything fairs well!! Hugs ❤
Thank you for letting us on the other side of the world know you and your precious family and animals are Ok.
❤❤❤
I went through it last night in FL and it was terrifying I've never heard wind so wicked.
In Maryville East TN and watching. Great job on the video and thankful that all survived unharmed. I'm Jim God Bless you all.
So sorry Helene was so rough on your homestead and community. Praying for all affected!
Went through Helene Thursday night. I also live in a doublewide. My prayers are with you
Praise the Lord. So grateful that you and yours were protected.
Storms of this magnitude doesn't usually happen this far from the ocean. I live in N.E. Ga. The rain was welcomed but not this much at one time. Never this wind. Thankful you all are safe. 😊❤
Get a butane stove with extra cans of butane. We had a freak storm come thru yesterday. Power out for 24 hrs. Had instant coffee . Pause we could cook food in the house with hurting us. Glad you are ok!
SO glad y'all are okay and the animals and all. What a freak storm to take out that tree like that and leave the boys play house "sky house" whatever it is now and the equipment beneath it. Way2Go Miah you built that awesomely!
So glad to see you guys are ok. Praying for your town......God is good....
Thankful you are ok.
We went thru the Dec 2021 tornado in Illinois.
Flattened our farm
We didn’t lose any lives or livestock but are still trying to rebuild the farm
Wow Jeremiah!
That treehouse tho?
What a blessing. ❤️💡🙏
I thank God that he kept you and your family safe. I will pray for you and your community.
It's coming through my area now. I'd suggest keeping a butane burner and a handful of canisters in case of a power outage. I NEED my coffee in the morning and I keep one around just in case.
Yep. I just said the same.
So thankful you are all ok!!! So very sorry about the damage.
We are north of Charlotte and have one more hour to go. I've been up since 2am, listening and watching. Still have power, miraculously. Praying for the linemen, police, ambulance, and fire personnel out in this weather trying to keep us all safe.
Hi neighbor, from W-S. Agree...praying for the DOT and line workers as well all morning, and the medical facilities
I'm glad all of you are all right. When Beryl hit Houston the eye went through and we live in a brick house. Our side fence blew over but all the things close to the ground stayed upright. Wind is a weird beast. Prayers for all.
I’m so glad you and your family are safe. We live in north Georgia and we were expecting the eye of the storm to go right over us, but obviously it changed paths…I was up all night waiting to hear the wind but it never came. So glad yall are okay! ❤
Glad y'all made it through safely! Clean up stinks, but thank God everyone is OK!
Coffee - I think this is why Mary at Mary's Nest has that cast iron trivet and tea candles in her Amazon store. It's an excellent way to heat enough water to do a pour over cup of coffee. :) Alesha from Florida (yep, I've totally used a trivet to make my coffee in a hurricane! And thank the Lord, we are in central FL and had no damage. )
Propane Camp stove, stainless coffee percolator= coffee always available.
Thankful the damage isn't more severe at your property.
When the power is out here, I use my fondu set to heat food.
