Which boat handled the waves the best? Let us know. 🌊👍
The midnight express
Yea. The black and orange midnight 43
Safety 3rd
@@ITSNOTDMAN agreed...finally a midn exp captain who knows what trim is
The orange and black midnight express because only the bow went up and when it did it did not make a thump like other boats do
I loved the boat full of folk wearing masks but not life jackets. 😂
Choose your weapon!
I'm laughing at them, not with them.
Liberals am i right
Money can't buy braincells
I was siting here LMAO watching those virtue signaling idiots with face masks on, outside, on the ocean! The ignorance and sheepleness knows NO bounds!
The Century boat captain did just what he needed to do, bring it in as smoothly as possible. He had older people on board, I suspect the person in the lavender shirt may have back issues. He picked his way through the swells and seemed to avoid stuffing the bow or getting overrun by a following wave.
I rate it, well done!
Well said! 100% on point!
However, he let a wave catch him from behind, when he should have stayed on the back of the wave he was riding. Never let a wave overtake you from behind if you can possibly avoid it.
That 1st following sea was close, than rode one in like a boss.
@@ro4317 yup, it's called getting pooped, and why the aft most deck on a boat is called the poop deck.
Gotta love French.
I really appreciated the girl on the third boat stepping out to the side of the center console!!!
Love that the first boat had a lifejacket on his kid, I cant understand why you see so many boats in haulover with kids with no life jackets on the ocean in rough surf!
He also made the smart decision when he decided that the rough conditions were more dangerous than fun. He turned around.
Got lucky, wrong spot to make a U turn, glad he's smart enough to take care of his kid w/a PFD
They hate their kids??? 🤔
@@Roger-gm9tl Well yes and no. There's no right spot to u-turn in the outer inlet but... his son was obviously frighten, so he had to do something fast. If not, that could have been the last time the boy set foot on that, or any other, boat. He checked the seas, found a good spot, did it quick and decisive, kept her in the trough, and gave her enough power instantly as he came about to even kept ahead of the following seas. I've seen professional skippers do far worse!!! Guys with 45-55 footers backing down too hard coming in, getting hit with a following sea, get pushed sideways, and damn near wind up on the rocks. I'd give this man an A+.
Ask a little kid what’s scary and they’ll tell you it’s when the adult doesn’t wear a life jacket because an adult without a pfd cannot take of the kid when something bad happens - little kids are smart
That little center console with the girl in the turquoise bikini blew them all away. That dude knows his boat.
BUCK....I BET HE KNOWS GET BOAT TOO 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
@Buck Kienzle - Sure, the turquoise bikini didn't have anything to do with your choice at all. No. Really.
@@wickedcabinboy just a way to let you guys know what boat it was. Was there anybody else even in that boat?😂
That center console really wasn't that little.
@@slydawwg it wasn't any bigger than 20'. Unless thise people are huge!
Loved the hull design at 3:37
The sound of those twin souped up V8's on the Cigarette @ 6:56 !! That sound just takes me back to Thunderboat Row and Miami in the 1980's. Man, what times!
Holy crap......Black fin with a kiddo wearing a life jacket !!!
At 5:15... Mystery engine is a Johnson 88 SPL. It's an old late 80s to early 90s V4 configured 2-stroke commercial grade engine that's as tough as nails. It's lower unit was geared for torque, not speed. Power tilt was an option and luckily oil injection wasn't offered so you mix gas and oil 50:1. I bet that little boat it's on will do 40mph without the Bimini top.
Yep. Showing my age but I picked that as a Johnson right off.
Wasn’t sure about it being an 88 hp, and sure not saying it wasn’t. But it was obvious it was an old 2 stroke V 4 John Rude; 115 or perhaps a 90 hp.
@@davidweigel2238 If you stop it at 5:19 you can read it says 88 and below the 88 it says SPL... I know because I had one.
@@scottheywood6502 thanks Scott, been a long time since I’ve seen one of those here at the lake. Blessings
dude @ 3:38 basically surfed that boat in, what a boss
That same boat and captain have been on multiple videos, he’s got incredible control of his boat.
Hes a pro
That's the exact opposite of surfing lol, that's the back of the wave
@@obnxsdonky9394 he made it look good though
I think they watch this channel and that's why they were looking for a camera to make faces at. He's done it a few times.
The guy in that blue Century with twin Yamahas knows how it's done. I have similar jetty approaches where I live and This is how I keep friends safe and happy.
Seeing that old 1970-ish Aqusport brought gladness to my heart. Thanks.
2:36 seems like good hull design, seems to handle the waves great.
total tank
Thought the exact same very cool boat would be good for deep sea fishing
The outboard on that little Aquasport at the 5:15 mark is a Johnson outboard! I'll never forget that engine cover! My dad's first boat (18' Glastron) had a Johnson 115!
Almost looks like an 88SPL
Good eye, i thought it was a tohatsu for a minute
I've got a 2stroke johnson 40 on my 1760 roughneck, it purrs like a kitten and runs like a raped ape. I get 30mph out of it with 600lbs payload (me, passenger and gear).
Could also be an OMC outboard.
@@justinswain381 Johnson and envinrude were part of omc
I don't know what it is but boats zooming across the water is bringing brings back some childhood memories
The captain of the Sea Fox @ 4:51 !!! That was nice!!! Going through with power and control. He did it perf!
Cap'n taking the entry carefully was a good job. 👍 Midnite xpress w/rabbit ears/outriggers looked like it would get great reception if it were a TV!😂
It looked like a roach or a lobster with those antennas😳
The “how did this captain do” clearly did great as none of their backs were broken 🤣
You act like you don't want your kidneys a little bruised.
@@cjj6412 lol
@@cjj6412 what kind of mad man doesn't want a herniated disc?
He did fantastic for hus older crowd that afternoon. Nicely done riding em in
could have ended up pitch polling - boat flipping over if the back waves were a little bigger. Never stop in trough of waves
ABSOLUTELY 👍 PERFECT 🫡 HE RODE THE WAVE IN WITH THE BOAT LIKE AN ABSOLUTE 🙌 CHAMP‼️
Why am I so addicted to watching these all the sudden!?
The key west did a little surfing, good job coming in.😍
The couple on the Pathfinder at 1:23 were the best, taking their time, holding on correctly & patient.
The Capt on the Century did perfect, he read the waves and went in smooth.
Not going to lie, I wanna go to Miami just to hang out at Haulover inlet now lol.
Same lol
I went it was a much nicer spot than south beach
I’m going to solo my 16’ Sears “birch bark” canoe through this next week.
Film it!!!
Make sure you paddle hard enough to get that baby up on a plane!!!
😳
Awesome!
Did u make it lol?
All I can think of is what I am doing wrong in life when I see these expensive boats ..... living in a land locked province is probably a start:) . Good video!
Yeah. But think of the badass Snowcat that you can drive 6 months of the year.
well youre likely in far less debt for starters
I owned a Century 2400 w/twin 150’s, & if that capt. got them in Haulover without soaking everyone in the boat, he did an EXCELLENT job.
That Sea Fox had the best pass in my opinion 🤙🏼
Greetings from Scotland.
Boy was that last boat Fugly - looked an unlikely lovechild between two others, with the upper cabin cover being put on back to front!
The blue/white center cockpit did great with his older passengers and everyone was stable with little to zero risk. The inlet/outlet isn’t dangerous, inexperienced boaters are dangerous.
that century 2400 captain did a great job very smooth entry i think he was better than all the rest
Always gotta love the halftime show 3:16 😂
Look at that!! A midnight captain who knows how to keep the bow up! 🙌
Just vapor on the Cig. Cool water and a hot exhaust.
Midnight express with outriggers looks like a giant poisonous bug. 7:42
thought the same thing. get out of my mind!
cannot unsee that now.
Bad designer. Can't see over the hull.
@@donlopeaguirre112 It looks like a giant cockroach
LOL
7:07 Nice job, backed off at the right time kept his boat from cavitation, and caught up with the next swell. Good seamanship!
That century captain was flawless in my opinion.
No luck, no power all skill.
A couple of those guys did a great job surfing the waves in.
LOL at Midnight Express with Outriggers and fishing rods. Don't think I've seen that before. Good for them!
Pretty good riding the inbound waves.
At 2:31 that Pardo boat has all the beauty of a brick. The beauties on the beach are my favorites.
Good to see a life jacket on the young lad in the Black Fin! Kudos Captain.
Midnight Express with the outriggers..oh yeah..b a b y !!!!! 4 engines!!! Hoot hoot
Thumbs up for the child having a life jacket on. Things can go from good to bad quick on the water.
Much respect to the dude at 1:37 telling her what to expect!
I like how this bloke throws in a few shots of some hot shielas for us to have a sly perve on inbetween the boats. I certainly appreciate it.
We all appreciate it!!!!!
A service for mankind
Quality performance by the happy chaps in the little Key West, nice one dudes.
Pardo design reminds me of the old school tugboats I used to watch in New York Harbor during the 60's. Can't help but like them.
Best boating catalog ever lol
Mystery engine is an old-school "JohnnyRude"; that cowling style first appeared in 1969, IIRC, w/ 85 and 115 HP versions.
Yeah, my guess would have been OMC Johnson/Evinrude 70s 80's - 90 hp v4
Could be an OMC 88hp as well! Those motors drink gas but they are workhorses!
@@TheNickphantom The Johnson 88spl is in my opinion the best ourboard produced in its era.
@@Graystoak-OG it was a great one, but I'd lean more towards a merc
Agreed. J/E 90 degree V-4. They built it up to 140hp from 77-84. I had the Evinrude on a 1970 14' Glastron Jetflight. It was a blast. Absolutely BULLETPROOF!!!
That captain did the entry very well, in fact it was excellent!
That Sea Fox looks like a damn fine boat
The Cigarette plowed it's way right through those inlet swells on the return trip. What a beast!
That little Pardo 38's design is spectacular!
Great way to spend that extra $600,000 or $700,000 that's just laying around.
the captain at 7:27 did good, he didn't bounce the passengers around and he didn't beat his boat to death
too slow.
He needed to stay on the back of the wave he was riding, was going too slow... The waves were passing him and he started getting sideways because he was riding the face of a wave.
broach like conditions at that speed
Should have trimmed up more with a little more power to stay on top. Too slow will mess you up fast
You need to surf the front of a wave and not let them push you about.
I like the Pardo Hull. Looks very much like a whales head, roomy inside and deflects waves better than other designs.
...almost like a sporterized Great Lakes fishing tug.
No horrible commentary, thank you.
The older Captain,of the incredibly small boat gave those folk a pleasantly dry reentery and did well letting the surf ,mostly, propel his craft back into the inlet.
Ide feel comfortable with his performance.
That mystery outboard looks like the type of outboard that almost gets you there and the Coast Guard brings you back.
it,s a 90hp johnson from the mid 80,s
The outriggers on the Midnight Express makes me think of Ray Walston on My Favorite Martian (guess I'm officially old).
First thing I thought of was A ROCK LOBSTER
I thought the same thing...My Favorite Martian.
That's what I thought of!! Lol
Yo huge props to the first boat with the kid having a live vest on it and decided to turn around.
The parod hull while not sleek certainly got the job done better than a lot of others
Really digging that Sea Fox - nice jump too, enough to get air under it without completely crushing everyone on board lol
Guy in the pathfinder knows what hes doing, dont need the trottle in the corner or a giant boat. Just need to know where the fast water is and the safe speed
That century guy did awesome honestly, smooth rides for his passengers and easy ride for the boat
After watching all these videos, my dream boat is the Midnight Express!! lol
Still shopping for our first boat, but love watching the videos. They're educational and relaxing!
That Pardo reminds me of the shoes a mall walking grandma would wear.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA true! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking a bath tub.
Handled that slop pretty well though
Herman Munster's boots
No, he stayed dry and it slammed without banging, water smashed out laterally . Imagine the added saloon space?
It looks like a orange and black butterfly with the antennas sticking out i like the out riggers 😎😎😎😎😎
That Pardo 38 looked pretty smooth !
❤️👍🇨🇦
Love the Pardo hull design, looks very stable. Reminds me of Mr. Magoo.
Very modern with that square bow, gunnel is crazy high and appears very seaworthy. Looks a lot smaller than 38 ft. I am going to look at their website to see what it looks like below deck, I'll bet it's nice under there.
Love my Key West! Makes me proud to see a cap who knows what he’s doing.
Smooth and dry ride, I love seeing looks from guys in center consoles when my “bow rider” carves through the waves better than them!!!
a great hull design, too bad they stopped making that one (211DC)
Midnight Express rigged for fishing? YES! Might as well use it for fishing, it's a boat on the ocean after all.
Midnight Express looks like a a bad ass, pissed off lobster!
At 5:20, the little Aquapoint with the "mystery engine" looks like a Johnson 60 or 70 horse from back in the day based on the shape and style of it. Our neighbors at my grandparents summer cottage had one on their boat.
Amazing the progression of horse power on the back of boats now. Use to be 2 or 3 20 HP OB was common now it's quad 450 HP is common Everyone has at lest 1000 HP. I can't imagine what the fuel cost must be on those for a day out fishing 600-700 dollars?
The quint 450R on some of these are just insane. 2250 HP to go fishing? At cruise they're pulling down like 4 gallons per nm, and full out more like 6 gallons per nm. Crazy fuel costs.
@@kaiyotech I guess the rich have to find ways to spend their money. I'm good with 200 hp engine or twin 150's on a good-sized boat for fishing more than enough power.
That sea fox bossed his way outta there 🤙🏼
The hull design on that pardo 38 I believe....is funugly as hell. I try to see the beauty in it but I can't bring myself to say I like it
To my eyeball the captain of the blue Century did a pretty good job of riding the waves in, not quite as nicely as the Key West did earlier in the video but it looked like everyone kept their toes dry. The outriggers and poles on the M.E. just looked out of place on what is obviously designed as a "go-fast" center console.
That Pardo is cool in my opinion. Nice to see something different from the constant midnight expresses.
Do you know what’s going on inside the bow? It looks like a removable section near the top. Does that serve a special purpose?
I love the stern. Looks very fit for purpose as a swimming platform. I’d need to see her perform in tougher conditions to know what I really thought of her design.
I agree
Couple of smart captains surfing the waves.
Thanks for sharing 👌👌👌
Watching from Hongkong 😁🇭🇰🇮🇩
That Pardo, with a semi-displacement hull handled it pretty well.
That Pardo 38 is gorgeous!
...Do I have to "Smash the 'like'button"....Can't I just press it gently...??
Impressive captain on the Pathfinder.
That had to be smoke from the "cigarette". They were all 4 wearing masks, on a boat in the ocean. They had to be smoking something.
Smokin sea weed no doubt
The guy with the smallest boat had the babe. Winner!
Captain in the Century did a fine re-entry.
Outriggers you say? I thought those were curb feelers. Learn something new every day!
@3:39
Best Capt
Small boat well handled
its just cuz hes russian lol
Love those midnight express boats
At some point after watching a good amount of these videos I catch myself wanting to see someone sailing through that has the same boat as Dexter (from the show) with a bunch of black trash bags in the front
The Pardo looks pretty good to me. And a big yes to the construction of the swim platform.
The Key West and Aqua Sport captains out maneuvered many of those far more expensive vessels.
Buy some glasses !
The Midnight Express looks like some kind of Alien 👽 BUG with the outriggers.
Midnight express with the outriggers reminded me of a spiny lobster.
Probably the mystery outboard is a 90 or 115 v 4 Johnson
yup! for sure...the cowl is missing the handgrip thing on the back. greetz from a Johnson enthousiast from The Netherlands
Johnson or Evinrude. About the same look in those years, but V4 for sure.
They built them also as 88, 110 and 120hp-versions.
@@andrebrammer2214 could be. In my country the common ones are the 90 and 115
OMC 88-120 V4. Other than the reeds most all internal parts are interchangeable as I recall. The 120 reeds will fit in the 88hp. lower units are also interchangeable. As long as you keep enough oil in the fuel those are pretty much bulletproof motors.
Such great footage for aspiring boat designers and it seems the bigger the flare the better the spray clearance, think back to mediteranean fishing boats with huge flared bows for short choppy seas.
Glad to finally see a child with a PFD on!!!!!
I know this video is ten months old, but that boat "Midnight Express" is a BEAUTY!
