- What if achieving our goals isn’t all it’s cracked up to be? What if our path itself was actually where the real value came from? How could we attend to our path to make our development more impactful, sustainable and meaningful? In this talk, Tony Lillios shares with us how Integral Theory provides a framework to walk an Integral Path toward having our lives unfold in transformative ways.
Tony Lillios is an Integral Coach in personal development who is passionate about bringing transformational tools to larger audiences. Tony brings a breadth of experiences and education into this growing field of integral practice that supports whole person evolution to create sustainable personal shifts.
As a serial entrepreneur, Tony founded and grew several companies, most notably the mobile case and accessory company, Speck Products. As an 8-time Ironman and a seasoned open water swimmer, he became the first swimmer to complete a round-trip swim across the deep cold waters of Crater Lake. No wetsuit or any outside assistance was utilized. Tony has also led an expedition across the country of Bhutan, seeking a deeper first-hand account of the country’s policy of Gross National Happiness. The journey is now the subject of a forthcoming documentary, Crossing Bhutan. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. I'm stuck. I don't want to knock this too hard, because I appreciate the attempt to include Integral Theory and Ken Wilber, which is incredibly powerful and life changing.
And still I'd hate for someone to watch this and think the speaker is conveying *anything* accurate about Integral Theory. His "X" thing, that's not Integral. The main Integral frameworks use a quadrant system including 4 sections.
Upper Left - Interior Individual
Lower Left - Interior Collective
Upper Right - Exterior Individual
Lower Right - Exterior Collective
I don't know what he was talking about with his 4. Do yourself a favor and watch videos of Ken Wilber himself explaining the Integral Model.
Watch for "AQAL" short for "All quadrants, all lines, all stages, states, and types. THIS is when you are getting to the most truly comprehensive map of human experience ever made.
Sadly, he ended up in a place which had been his underlying story scripted beforehand. He spoke about his success all the way...another someone who took advantage of the spotlight to tell us about nothing, but personal achievement.
Great talk! Thanks for sharing this perspective! Definitely Thought provoking!
Simple , goals are vital in life and they are very important to set. They give us a sense of guidance and something to look forward to for all the hard work. BUT , goals are useless if not acted upon with massive ACTION ! Life is all about taking a chance and our goals mean nothing if we never talk that chance
Peace from Ty
I believe this man has a lot more to share than 10 min talk! what about methods you implemented? how did you unlock all 4 domains ?
Great job on this talk!! You did an excellent job boiling down the complex topic of integral theory. Integral theory is one of the most fascinating and interesting development models there is, and it pushes us to think about ourselves in new and dynamic ways. Your examples do a superb job of driving home your main points, and your talk challenges people to think bigger. Thank you for sharing!

I’m interested in integral, where do you recommend starting?
@@Bluudclaat That's awesome! I hope you will look more into it. But about this video, I'm stuck. I don't want to knock it too hard, because I appreciate the attempt to include Integral Theory and Ken Wilber, which is incredibly powerful and life changing.

Integral Theory TransCludes Both goal & path ~~
GoalPath ~~ Both the path of the Goal and the goal of the Path!!!!!
I teared up at the end. Easy to remember model for balancing the salad spinner of life. Bravo Tony. :)
Very well delivered coming of age story. I missed the "Integral Theory" connection, but it did get me to click. Am I missing something or are TEDx's becoming dominated, as John Zhu mentions, by insufferable humble-brag's?
Hello Orange Tuono during the talk Tony has been showing the outline of the integral theory in that X of 4 spaces while narrating his story, that is to say, the theory was present in all the narration even if he did not mention it again. Cheers
Great speech! Thank you.
Nice talk! I'm slowly becoming used to the checklist/what's-next-on-my-CV mindset and I can feel the novelty of the satisfaction of getting stuff done wear off, it was nice to listen to this, hopefully I can apply this!
Excellent Faiza, I recommend you to know the integral theory created by Ken Wilber that is fascinating, he has many books available. Could you start with "Brief history of all things" or "The integral vision" Greetings
This is not Integral theory. Try the small introduction to Integral theory, a book called, The Integral Vision. But if Tony's talk gets you to Wilber, he's done a good service.
Awesome stuff
I just thought of something else. Think of an infinity symbol ♾. It's just a loop. The way we literally experience the integral theory is also a figure 8 loop from thoughts that turn to actions interacting with the place or environment your in creating your symbiotic relationships with every single thing you interact with. Then back to the next thought .
This is actual a great story.
Inspirations
Fantastic talk! Congrats Tony!
Celebrate the Journey!
thank you tony. you are an ispiration.
I love ur videos sir...
I didn't feel like this was easy to relate to. Not everyone has the luxury of "finding themselves" by traveling and coming back with new perspectives. I get that getting rid of thoughts that do not serve you is a beneficial exercise, but it seems like goals are still necessary for all.
Why is it always business people who find themselves without a belief system and a sense of meaning? All the wisdom contained in a meta analysis of all theology and philosophy and his conclusion is: 'have kids'. A tradesman with an IQ of 90 could have told him that. Anyway, this didn't explain anything about Integral Theory, nor show why it's better than any pre-existing belief system.
"Stop looking behind you... you aren't going in that direction..." Old saying
i Empower Myself With a Good Education
Other choices not always same for all
Its different when you are 20 years old or 50 or 60 or even 40
and what kind of problems you are in
Great ideas
Nice video
Tradução não entendi nada. 😲
Ele falou que se você lutar você não desiste.
"I'Am, Therefore I'Am"! Intro to a phenomenal song by the Moody Blues!
Does he have a book? Or are there any good books around about integral theory?
the integral life practice book is a great intro!
Lol
Laura el no tiene libros pero el creador de la teoria integral Ken Wilber si tiene alrededor de 30 libros sobre teoria integral. Te recomiendo "La vision integral" para tener un primer acercamiento. Disfrutalo
*laid ahead
Yes - space is good
Confused about point of talk
Moral of the story is to go to Bhutan? Get more space? Become a positive ironman? Have kids? Not goals? huh?
Igitha the moral would be "live more comprehensively", that is, including all aspects of your experience, the details it tells are only anecdotal and circumstantial, but they give life to the narrative
Hi guys
Efekaan Sengonnul aleyküm selam
Your best days lay ahead, how con you com to another conclusion than that? Lots of rambling and confused talk in between.
You can't be sure that your best days are behind you. You can give up though, that you can and stop enjoying life. You don't find sour faces among elderly people, that is not the case.
You're not an Iron Man
do not read my profile name
Useless bragging.
