Collapse was me and my wife's wedding song 16 years and 2 kids ago. I let her borrow my Sparta CD while sitting next to each other in a collage class. Thanks for the music.
To this day, and I’m serious, this is my favorite song of all time. Bought WS when I was 16. Put the cd in the player of my truck…and … I hated it!!!! But… I got busy and left the disc in. Over the next couple weeks it was always playing wherever I drove. It changed my life. The entire album. Especially collapse. The viola/violin interlude before verse 2 always gives me goosebumps. Ended up seeing Sparta several times everyone they came to Detroit. Loved all of the albums. Porcelain and threes were also amazing. They all had a unique feel that now reminds me of specific periods in my life. I’m forever grateful. Also Jim inspired me as a musician. I grew so much from his vocal approach and lyrics
Nick, where in Michigan are you from ? Still playing music ? I'm putting together some demos' that are heavily influenced by Sparta and Small Brown bike. Looking for solid players our age. I'm currently in the Jackson / Lansing area.
As an old fan, I'm excited to see you again in Houston Tx tonight. Always an anniversary present from husband. Our first date was an Austin show at Emos. We have been fans of all projects. Sparta is my fave.
Holding it down well for a three piece! Pretty awesome! I saw Jim play in Sparta in 2003 and it was a great show. Then years later I saw him playing acoustic on Chuck Ragan’s revival tour and he was super awesome there too. He was a really nice dude to chat to and hang with. Humble and willing to hang with random people. Awesome!
You need to have one (just one) concert - it can even be in Hell Paso - where, right before, you stub your toe, someone cuts you off in traffic, someone scuffs your favorite guitar, and you go full Hulk mode. Good seeing you at Glasshouse the other day.
I love you brother. Thank you for all the music you’ve made. Sparta is such an amazing band. Been rocking with you for many years but never got the chance to see you. Would be so awesome to see you one day.
I used to love the opening cords to this song. It looks like the cut them for this performance which is a shame or was mixed in a way that they're inaudible. Also miss the keys coming in at the apex of the song with that lovely little melody contrasted with the harshness of his voice. I get playing the same song the same way for 20+ years probably sucks but I just miss the little touches that comes with a smaller band size. Still good. Takes me back.

The greatest part is that we're still alive. Sparta is life.

@@ericappell801 I'm going to go to the one in Memphis. Can't wait but it irritates me that they don't play cut your ribbon on most sets

Freaking great! This song takes me back to ‘06, better days.
Love Sparta, and At the Drive-in does not sound the same without him. Jim kicks ass.
As a longtime Sparta fan, I'm so glad that you are still around sharing your amazing talent Jim! 🔥🤘🏽
Cool version but but boy howdy do I miss that second guitar
With the advantage of twenty years of hindsight, this is possibly/probably Sparta's best song

Great song. I met Jim at an acoustic show he did in my little hometown in Maitland Australia about 15 years ago. Awesome show and a very humble guy.
That's awesome! I'm originally from kurri kurri just nearby. Whereabouts did he play? Would have been amazing
