My favourite runner recently said. Sports is all about timing. It’s rarely your day. But when you do get your turn it’s worth the wait. Congratulations on the pb that’s still a crazy fast time
Thanks for the hair tutorial!!! I’ll definitely give it a go!! You said it all at the end, a PB is a PB, & in a ridiculously fast time too!! Those races that end up being not what u wanted does make u appreciate & treasure the ones that are magical, & I’m sure it drives you on for the next! So much has to align for a perfect race, & sometimes it just doesn’t happen-& that’s ok! I suspect tho by the looks that you may have been coming down with something-A huge factor! So proud of you!!!!
Hope youre recovering well from Covid. Having just run my first ever parkrun in 28:31 today. I'm inawe of your time! Don't beat yourself up that's a great time and a pb. 😊 Recuperate and come back and smash it.
I know you were aiming higher but to us mortals that PB is still a phenomenal, inspirational time. And finishing so strong too! Amazing discipline and willpower. Thank you for sharing, and hope Daniel (or both of you?) gets well soon.
Had a race last sunday, was not super happy with it in terms of time, but came away with a second place. This video at this point in time really gave me something to relate to and I think I now feel better about my own result, so thanks for that. Keep it up.
I'm gonna think of you every morning as I "get the floof, pin the floof" 😂😂😂 anyway, great video, congrats for the race and hope you'll get better soon ❤️
Always come to your videos when I need a bit of motivation for my own running, Phily! Thank you for sharing your running journey, and I'm wishing you both all the best health and recovery :) Edit: Full disclosure, I use that top bun to pick you out of a crowd in some of the busier shots, so never change! 😂And I loved seeing you chatting with the younger runner - that's what it's all about after all, inspiring and energizing that next generation!
so I tried the power bun, but I couldn't get it to work. :) good effort in the race. you just never know what you're gonna get on any given day. if you don't get a little frustrated/disappointed sometimes, it means you don't care enough, and that is much worse !
Philly I hope you have more food by now. Otherwise I would send you some from our food shelve. But it might take awhile from Minnesota. You should come run here sometimes. We would take good care of you. (We have lots of food) I am training for the Bemidji Blue Ox Marathon in October. Hope to get a BQ there. Looking forward to you qualifying for Olympics. Love your repeat Km workouts. I am incorporating into my training now. Thanks for sharing your life and running.
"We have an entire toilet" I'm dying. Also as a fellow floofy-haired runner I appreciate the effort that goes into the bun, it's truly an art. I'm pretty partial to power braids but always manage to end up doing them right before a race and stressing myself out about how tired it makes my arms...
Hi, Phily. Great videos! My suggestion is I would like to learn more about the results of race itself, like your lap times and the finish time, as well as the winner's time.
Look how much you’re improving though. Not a bad place to be getting a PB but knowing you can do better, so you’re not happy with the result. Just shows there’s more PB’s and better days to come. 👍
That's a great strategy fuming for an hour then moving on. Holding on to something for a long time disrupts everything. You can't do anything about the situation once it's done, just learn from it.
Chin up. Love the grind. Just means you've got even more scope to get ANOTHER PB later on right? After a little over 2 weeks of not being able to run at all (LOTS of icing!) having rolled my ankle and done something to my tendons I think, I'm just happy to be back out doing gentle runs to build back up in time for a 1/2 marathon in 8 weeks. No idea if I'll hit my original target now having had the setback, but gonna just enjoy the process and see what the day brings. Your Vlogs have certainly helped during my "down time" so thanks & keep up giving it your all 👍
@@PhilyBowden Cheers 👍 . . . I’m definitely on the up n up: managed a couple of average pace 10k’s this week and treated myself to a new pair of trainers with a bit more toe room for longer runs. (Never heard of the brand before but recommended by my local running shop so fingers crossed).
Also your apartment is really neat - I'm a fan of small living spaces and love to see different floor plans. Is that washer a combo washer/dryer or do you just air dry clothes?
Have they fixed the track then cause I went there at the start of the month and the inside lane was recked, it was bubbly and ripped, especially near the start
So Trafford is a suburb of Manchester and Old Trafford is a cricket oval in that suburb? Wouldn’t the place have come first so it should get the ‘old’?
Hey, I think it's really healthy to give yourself to give yourself an hour to be annoyed and the move on. That's a great tactic. Random question - do you give yourself more time if the race is longer? Like if you're unhappy with a marathon, do you give yourself a day to be annoyed?
One thing about running is..... run against Faster runners and your will get faster!!! Run with the slow bunch and you get social!!! You enjoy chatty runs...... SO GET BACK OUT WITH THE FAST LOT!!! Well Done BTW.... I thought you held up really well!!
It's the top bun. Creates to much drag. Sub 15 if you go to the back. Obviously I'm an expert on the drag coefficient of women's hair and how to achieve a pb SEVERAL minutes faster than I can dream of running.
hello phily, the truth is that I must admit that I am not even close to your level but in my defense I must also admit that I am not even close to your training hours. Apart from that, I wanted to give you a "recommendation" or something you could try: I see that you always have a good breakfast on race days and this is great if you have to run a marathon or half but if you are about to run 10k or less, the ideal is to have a good dinner strong (leaving a few hours of digestion) but do not put ANYTHING absolutely NOTHING on the day of the race (at most a squeezed orange juice) to activate the adrenal glands. Give it a try once and thank me later.
I’m not sure this would work for me, in this case the 5k race was all the way in the evening, I’d have been starving if I only had orange juice all day before racing!
My favourite runner recently said. Sports is all about timing. It’s rarely your day. But when you do get your turn it’s worth the wait. Congratulations on the pb that’s still a crazy fast time
Eilish McColgan ♥ Love that quote too!
Apart from the serious running stuff, your videos are hilarious. So down to Earth 😀
I frickin' loveeee Daniel's support during the races!!!
15:44 is still a great time, more so since you were coming down with covid. Plenty of rest for both of you, get well soon ☺️🙏
Love your videos. You’re such a character and so entertaining, thanks for taking us along for the ride.
You were coming down with covid yet still ran a PB, congrats! I hope you're on the mend already!

This is why I have my mojo back, love listening to a top athletes view. So refreshing and engaging.
congrats on 7k also loving the new mansion it looks absolutely lovely

More Phily hair tutorials please!! I immediately tried this look today 😂❤️

Love and respect from Canada
Great attitude. Great race. Love your content. Keep at it 💯❤️
Thanks for sharing with us all the ups & downs and how to move on. ❤️❤️❤️
Another fun video. Congratulations on the PB! I understand your frustration but hope that you can celebrate a really good race.

"Let's get some foooood"! Loved that part!!

Aha love this, thanks Brad - will remember that when I consider chopping all my hair off 😂
Let’s put this into perspective. You run more than 2x faster than me.
Congratulations on your spectacular conditioning and training!

Literally exactly the same here with the arm fatigue! 😂

Thanks Brendan will try to add this in, don’t always get lap splits but can always try!
Speedy recovery to both you Champs💪🏾

PS you should do a vid about your shoes and kit sometime…love to hear your logic about things, esp. for racing day

Hit the nail on the head! Plus any more than 60 minutes gets a bit unbearable for the poor souls that have to put up with my grumpy self too 😂
Hell of a PB streak Phily, even if it felt a bit flat. Hope you're both OK and recover soon
Great video, got to take the rough with the smooth🙂. You forgot to do the 'this is where the magic happens' bit on ur cribs tour😆
Don't beat yourself too much over it, awesome time for a marathoner.. I mean 1500m runner! Thanks for sharing your journey =)
Congrats on the PB! Wish you (both?) a speedy and complete recovery from covid!
It feels good to see another person run a PB and also not be too happy about it :)
Well ran! Am sure you'll bag that pb another day
Great….. as usual. Who is your favorite football team ?
My race bib number at Ironman Lakeplacid last weekend was 318 as well!!

If you’re not doing it.
You’ve got nothing but time.
Zero excuses.
Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery, but if not then just take your time and you’ll get back at some point, the body knows best!

Oh you were at Longford Park! Come and do the Parkrun run there sometime please. :)
Damn, first part of the video I was like: I have NOT been paying attention to the renovations like I thought!
I bet you would make a great estate agent, entertaining certainly. Love the way you tried to open the fridge from the wrong side.😅
Aha thanks Simon, glad someone noticed 😂
This is brilliant
Hope you recover from COVID quickly!
I guess it's kinds cool you can feel below-par and still bag a PB !
If it helps- I'm shouting "GO PHILY" like your fella does lol... :D
Get well soon!
Also your apartment is really neat - I'm a fan of small living spaces and love to see different floor plans. Is that washer a combo washer/dryer or do you just air dry clothes?
Liked within 5 seconds... DAAAAAMN!!!! :D

Enjoy the channel, What is the song in your opening sequence ? Its a proper earworm and unshazamable so far 😂
It’s Dyalla “be with you”, there’s a link at the bottom of the video description :)
Hope the covid wasn't to bad Phily 👍
It’s just about passing now… not fun!
I understand why you want to put it in a bun but wow what a luscious mane. 😲

o hi i didn't win love that intro
This my favorite track
I always get scared to run the day before a race haha

Your valley girl accent is spot on!
4:55 10/10 pour, would like a replay

Haha we’ll see, maybe I’ll try it
Actually it was a pretty good result considering you had Covid.
In hindsight yes you’re right!
It’s good to have high standards for yourself, but don’t forget to cut yourself some slack! There will be other days when things just click
#trademarkhair
Quick feedback: It felt like there were to many compilations, especially at the start. Otherwise great videos as always!
That fridge is very bare. Will i send you £20 till pay day? 😀
😂 like I say, a minimalist
As a fellow runner I would 100% try this hair style, if I wasn't a bald bloke...
Wigs are an option? Maybe I should start some merch? 😂
@@PhilyBowden what's the guarantee on a Phily Toupe for North East Winters when XC arrives?
Floof-tastic!
As a cyclist, I'm worried about your power bun and hair floof! It can't be aero. You're losing a billionth of a second on every run!
But what if it holds secret magical powers that outweigh the drag?
@@PhilyBowden Well I can't argue with that! I've seen that you occasionally ride a bike as well. I'd love to see some if you get around to it!

I’d rather wear a swimming cap
@@PhilyBowden 🤔😲😲😲😲🤣🤣 Great idea....would stop the sweat getting into the eyes....and keep you warm on those English summer days 🤣🤣🦾🏃♀❤
Just the title of the video irritates me. I won’t watch it solely on who wouldn’t be happy with a 15 min 5k time. Want attention much is my feeling.
Don’t watch it then… 😂
@@PhilyBowden perfect. Now that I have your permission my day is complete. You are the best! Thank you
