The moment you saw the book... priceless and quite emotional. Sitting here with the live tracker on, 25 mins in to the race... I can just imagine Daniel's "C'mon Phily" roaring out from the crowd.
I am so glad Daniel found your book! I lost 5 years of fitness data when switching phones in January (thought it was being backed up to the cloud, but alas was not) and I almost cried. I still feel the twinge when I want to look up an old race.
When you said you'd never lose it again I thought you'd say you'd lost it again right after that cut :D Thank you for these videos, never thought I'd get so excited for a stranger's race and so emotional listening to someone else's race diary. Inspiring as always! Also sweet Blues Brothers LP haha
Yesterday, after my long run workout, the person that is helping me with this training block judged it in a bad way. Probably for personal reasons. I think I had a really good workout, I was feeling good. But someone that I thought cared about my marathon journey just treated me in a bad way. I watched this video yesterday afternoon, and the first page of your black book changed my day. Every single word was perfect for me. I wrote it down in my paper. Thank you so much. Everything happens for a reason. And I need someone that really support me, my dreams and my running journey.
I cringed when you said you will never lose that book again😂. I would photograph/scan every page and save it in the cloud and multiple other places. The unconscious mind is a tricky beast in my experience and if you don't have a copy you will lose it again. Have a great race👍
Do you know her final time? I've just finished this video, and realised the race has likely just finished, but I can't seem to find a time for her online without downloading the race app, and the activity isn't on strava yet. It'd be awesome to hear how she did.
@@bernardm4581 Awesome, thanks for sharing! A PB by 50 seconds is great, and all elite run times seem insane to me as a 1 hour 45 minute half marathoner. Given the talk at 19:04 I imagine Phily will be slightly disappointed with this, but I hope she still enjoyed it. There will always be more races to run.
Looking forward to the breakdown of the race today. I know you were thinking a bit faster but 1:12 is a 3 min PR and that’s never anything to be too terribly upset about. Keep at it so much positive things going right now in your group!!!
Well that was emotional! Especially when you were reading that first page and reflecting. I hope that more than anything you enjoyed today’s race. You’re amazing 🥰
I've been packing for college and I lost my own race journal; truly trying not to panic. Similarly to you, my journal holds my entire pre-race plan--sometimes as far as days out. It's my mantra, my nutrition, and my post-race summary. Everything from the past 4 years. I totally get why you were frustrated
Aww I’m so glad you found it!! Yay! You’ve inspired me in so many ways, but you’ve inspired me from this video to create a book myself. I started running in the spring, and now I’m never going back. I have my first half marathon planned for October 15, and I’m so excited. My 5km time is still quite long but that’s ok, because I’m brand new to running but I keep running and keep improving. I can’t wait to create my own book like this, to look back on and log all my runs from here on out! Thank you! I’m looking for a coach too if anyone wants to reach out.
There are some people who may not understand the book. It’s just a book, why so emotional! But as someone with a book for my PTSD events/triggers I got emotional when Daniel found it for you. If I ever lost my book I’d be devastated! I’d say good luck on the race but I’m sure by now you’ve run it, hope all went well!
Bummer I didn't spot you! I Spotted Moe from the running channel though, but would have been nice to see you aswell! Almost broke the 2h mark which is my goal but after todays heat I was lucky just finishing!
Good luck for the race Phily! I’ve just found your Chanel like 2 weeks ago and you are already such an inspiration and motivation for me! Thank you for doing what you’re doing and being so open and vulnerable in the videos! And a big shoutout to Daniel for all his support!
I watched your video about the CPH Marathon on Friday or Saturday night. Then as we cycled to church on Sunday we had to cross the Half Marathon course 3 times because of where our church is to the course (in a side street between the start line and the finish line in Frederiksberg Allé). We cycled past what looked like a water stop (but doesn't seem to be on the map so maybe it wasn't) but I saw all the bottles lined up and then got very excited to see the ones with pipe cleaners attached after seeing that on your marathon video lol.
Philly… out of curiosity when you travel for races, is your kit in your carry on or packed away in your luggage? I always have a fear that when I travel my luggage will be lost! So for me, carry on it is! Fantastic job, so proud of you!
Yeah all of that “essential” stuff I laid out on the bed goes in my rucksack, never risk putting anything you can’t race without in the suitcase just in case it gets held up!
What heartrate monitor are you using? I have a hard time using the cheststrap due to loose skin from weightloss and could use a good armstrap instead. You and Daniel are awesome thank you guys so much for the motivation and giggles.
Hey Phily, how did you find this half, I have spoken to so many people that were thrown by the unexpected extreme heat, I personally saw twelve people collapsed and some in the recovery position? x
Are you literally collecting used teabags in a saucer?? Why tho? Secondly, buy a rice cooker, to avoid the atrocity you had to eat (and make life easier for Daniel). It also makes great porridge! Well done in Copenhagen, even if not all went as hoped. Loving the grind! ❤
Nothing to do with the topic of the video, but when I saw the 18:05 footage it struck me how silly is to have mixed marathons. Yes, girls can be paced and shield from the wind by male runners, but on the other hand you girls don't get the camera time you deserve. Elite women get obscured by a bunch of male club runners...
I noticed you on the big screens 🙂 But I had a terrible race. Everything was fine until 13K. Splits was spot on as planned. But HR was 3-4 beats above usual level... That was a sign, that something was "off". The massive crowd, even in the below-90 minutes category was a problem. But the real enemy for me was the heat! Between 13-14K I could feel my head beginning to feel like it was boiling. Ran under the showers, poured water over my head, my body, my legs, but there was no speed left, even if I didn't feel fatiqued in my muscles. And now, several hours after the race, my muscles feel fine, but my brain feels like it has been boiled. People dropped like flies for the last five K's, with heatstrokes. I'm dissapointed I didn't get to say hello to you. You have a tendency to bring sunshine to Copenhagen 😎 ☀ I ended up runinng a really bad time for a half marathon, but that is just what happens sometimes. I know you wanted to go a minute or two quicker Phily, but that is a brilliant run and you HAVE to be proud of yourself 🎉
Thank you, I am ❤️

Yay, a new PB!! So exciting, and way to totally go, Phily. (And now you have big news to write about in your Little Black Book.)

Ehhh from 73,29 to 72,39? 3min?
@@HowIsThat69 perhaps I was incorrect but WA lists her PR as 75.02
@@ksteege yeah I saw that.. weird, I definitely ran 73:29 two years ago at Reading HM! Maybe not a World Athletics ratified course?
@@PhilyBowden ah ok. Well. PB is a PB gotta take them when you can. Congrats on a 1 min overall PB and a 3 min ratified one. 😝
I was so excited when Daniel found your book 😋☺️

The real life hero! And YES! Love my Lumie

Great job at Copenhagen again. Got the PB! You keep improving!
This video helped me re-find the Belinda Carlisle song. Looking forward to the day you go to the beach and draw a Circle in the Sand.

Good luck Phily!!!!
Hopefully you got the bus! Good Luck on the race 🍀
A PB for PB! Congrats. Well done, you!
I think foreshadowing Phily is my new favourite character in this series 😂

Still watching. Hope you find it. Something hand-written that's so important to you - take a photo each time you write an entry...

What a lovely mug 🐈⬛ 🫖😊
Is it the cool room because it is where you have to “cool your heels” or maybe because elite runners are so 😎
7:38 That looks bloody delicious. Can I hire Daniel as my chef please?
3:50 don't worry, I'm sure your kids will be grand
Good luck for the race, I’m sure you will SMASH it! Btw, You mentioned the legal requirements for shoes- out of interest, what are they?
It’s to do with the stack height, they can’t be over 40mm

Race update video?
On Sunday… as usual!
Is that Educated by Tara Westover I see raising your monitor?!
Make a copy of the book!

Another job for Daniel to make a digital record of every page so you’ve got a backup

That food looked really tasty. I love sticky rice. I believe that Daniel is quite handy in the kitchen 🤔
Guess Daniel needed the pages of your book to dry his running shoes… 😇
Are Pbs for PB better chafe free ? #ltg
Do you believe in successful running without talent "born with" but rather hard, right work?
Probably in your luggage
Edit: Dang it! Well, if it were me, it would've been in my luggage (usually where all my lost things are).
