As a successful racer it would have been easy to not have posted this content for fear of not feeling like you did yourself justice....but great to see that you have enough humility to put out the raw content, warts and all. Its nice for a 50yr old weekend warrior racer like myself to see what its like to be a former pro dealing with a change in your bodies capabilites as you age

@@CamMci Good luck, for me having recently started too, the most important part of reaching 5k targets was the mental aspect. There was much more possible physically than I expected when I mentally decided to just push on and don´t fall prey to my body/brain telling me to slow down after 3-4k xd

As a F1 fan, and someone who has been to two F1 races at Monza, I know how Andy feels. Never ending straights. The track is wider than what TV shows, however is narrow. The camera foreshortens the distance of the track. I’d love to run at Monza. Certain thing for me is that the 5.739km would take more than the ~1:24.500 I use for my race pace in the F1 games.

You middle distance guys are monsters honestly. 30c is blistering for me. If I were to try an all out 5km in that weather I have no confidence at all in that heat. I can only run maybe 65% in that kind of heat. I'm just a 25 minute 5k boy but if it was 30c it would take me 35minutes.
I don't know if you still have sub 15 in you since the Olympics Andy but even if you can't do casually do 13 minute park runs anymore you're definitely the ultimate unbeatable hobby dad.
You know we are always making excuses like oh man there's no way I could come close to that guy he's been to Boston.
You literally get to be that... There is no way I can beat that guy he's an Gold Medal Olympian.
But honestly... As you know we all run because we are on a journey.
Fight or not it's for you.
What reason do you have to run 5k under 15 minutes as a 40 year old man who isn't trying to obtain brand deals? Well there's 1 very good valid reason.
    To show yourself you can.
That's the only reason any person needs to do anything.
    You're a legend as always.
James and Sarah always going on about how you're so annoying at their ear when pacing but they are better because of you and your influence.

Well done Andy that’s class! Brilliant result In that environment there 🙌 you did excellent! New to this channel and loving it! I was a sub 15 min runner when I was 16-24 but I’m now your age, between 26-40 I kinda stopped running and during Covid I started running once a week without fail, I’ve gone from running circa 26 mins to now just in the 23 outdoors and 21 mins on a treadmill for 5k. Now running twice a week and going to see if I can get sub 21 mins on the road within a few years and keep at it!
Would like to go sub 20’s and will certainly work for it over the next 2-3 years I hope.
Keep up the great work guys ❤️ love the channel 🫶
