Dal, rotis and a good achar is one of my favorite meals. I usually make Dal with the onions and tomatoes recipe, but I have got to try this recipe soon. Thanks for sharing.
Hope you enjoy it
I’ll have to try this one next. Just made the easy coconut dal. Thanks!

Absolutely love how simple and tasty this recipe is and have made it many times! I have your book this is from and just made this last week. So nice to see you share it here and have a chance to watch you make it! Thank you. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderfully simple and nutritious recipe and just what we need considering that we should eat pulses at least three times a week.
Absolutely!
Looks great - I made exactly this recipe last night - so tasty and moreish!
So good!
Yummmm! Do tadka pans work on electric coil stoves or do you really need a gas stove?
I usually make my dhall in a saucepan with KTC red lentils, but I tried this recipe today in a Pressure King Pro. This was such a simple recipe and made a super, creamy dhall. Although I have your book, I do enjoy these videos. Thank you!
Wonderful!
I tried this from your book a while back and it's become one of my go-to meals. So yummy!
Yeah Mary

Thank you!
Do you have times for instant pot?
I could eat dal all day every day 😋
Me too
@@FoodwithChetna I'm working in a staff canteen kitchen. I'll try and get this dal on the menu when we do curries.🙂
Wonderful recipe. I added sliced garlic to the other tarka ingredients. 👅
Sounds great!
I was walking home like 15 minutes ago and I thought, "I really want daal." Then I saw your video 😄 Thank you so much. I'm not sure I've got that much daal in the pack 🤔 I'll see what I can do
yeah
hello! I love your recipes! did you soak the daal or just washed it?
just washed
My two cents . If you bare using pressure cooker you really don't need to soak the dal but it speeds up the cooking process. If you are using the open pan method soaking the dal for atleast 1/2 hour really helps. You get a creamy, mashy dal
Chetna the link to your book is not working!
Chetna, I have a request. Can you please make a video on the falooda from Chai, Chaat, and Chutney?! I have everything for it now in the cupboard, but would love to see you put it together. The photo in the book makes it look so scrumptious.
Sure 😊
Please semd this recipe...What is "2 bells" for an electric pressure cooker?
You can make it in a normal pan for 20-25 mins
If you put in a little ghee or oil along with the dal in the cooker it will not spill out
If fresh or frozen curry leaves aren't available, I'd say don't bother using dried. While leaves like fenugreek, mint, bay, tea, etc., retain at least some flavour with drying, curry leaves become virtually tasteless as they desiccate.
Do you suppose there would be any value in rehydrating them while the moong dal is cooking?
The flavour in these leaves does not work like that I am afraid
thats right
What is moon Dahl??
Its moong dal, a variety of lentils
Chetna to avoid that spilling over this daal you should smear some ghee inside of the cooker lid
If you could add red chillies and garlic along with the other stuff you added nothing like that ...thats the real tadka of dal ...
Yes this is a variation. there are hundreds of ways to make the tadka, I have around 10 different tadka recipes on my channel and more in my books
