  • Aluminum profile and a couple of laminate sheets from the nearest supermarket and ready homemade track saw for Bosh circular saw as alternative to expensive branded ones.
    I used neodymium magnets from old hard drives to quickly mount the saw into the slide.
    Simple diy project. Thanks for watching and hope this video was helpful

    Out of all video that I seen your video by far is the best. Which you would have audio explaining the building process. Question? What size of tapper did you use to make holes on the 12mm metal I think it is. Thanks. Superb video👍💪

      I'm very glad you liked it. I don't think the size of the tap is very important - it's the idea that counts. Thanks for the feedback.

    Good version of a reasonably cheap track-saw to build, and I like it a lot. The main reason I bought a plunge saw instead of making is that without dust extraction there is a lot of sawdust spread around the workshop. I haven't seen a version like this that extracts the dust as the saw cuts. Anyone got any ideas.

    Good idea ,unfortunately mosty of skill saws on the market nowdays have aluminium/non magnetic tray.

    There’s a missing step. The actual track that is attached to the saw carrier that slides over the fence you created.

      Revisited the video, and it really isn't very detailed at 6:16 minutes. At that time I was just starting to make a video for the channel. I didn't have much editing experience. But thanks for the helpful commentary.

    I wish I would have found a saw like this years ago! It does everything that we have asked of it so far. Works great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c on cutting composite siding and plywood sheathing. I probably would not try to use it all day cutting 2X boards, but it's just the right size to throw in a job bag vs. your conventional heavy circular saw. Operating instructions very clear. Came package well. I would definitely recommend you buy this for a friend!

    What kind of aluminium square bar and u-channel did you use? Thanks!

      @OldRustyCrafts  3 роки тому +1

      12x12mm is the outer size of the square. and 12mm inner U profile. I think any suitable one will do. I bought these at the nearest supermarket.

    Nice video and thanks for taking the time to put it together. How did you bond the aluminum? It looks like you used lead solder, similar to electronics or plumbing, but I've never seen that.

    Neodymium magnets are cheap enough if you don’t have hard drives.

    • @OldRustyCrafts

      You're right, but when you have a big box of faulty hard drives... You have to use them somewhere.
