I'm so glad to know that Matt Easton shares my "gibbon arms" morphology, that way I'm 100% sure that finaly I'll get a jacket that fits properly in that regard.
Absolutely. I use the invented term "Frankensteining" for what ordinary sleeves do when I extend my arms in front of me. It's so hard to find non=tailored shirts and coats that don't do that.
Can you tell me where to contact the customer service? I tried to write them an email on the address they got on their webpage but the address is not available says my mail service.
"a lot of people worrying about their cardio" Confirmed. My club recently held a very limited training session just to gauge the readyness of reopening our club. We tried doing a light session and normal bouts, and literally everybody includes me getting winded after a mere pair of two minutes bout :v
Did anyone else get a kinda Richard o'Brian vibe once Matt was was swaggering around in the new gear? He just needs a leopard print jacket, crocodile boots and a Crystal Maze to complete the look!
@@frankharr9466 I think if we're making a Crystal Maze it's got to be the whole hog, but definitely start with the Medieval zone. And maybe bring back the Pacific Zone too, I think the outfit would really work there.

Coming from Olympic fencing, it surprises me that breeches or other protective pants aren't mandatory. Also, looking forward to the penetration and suspenders video... 😳
I still say that the zipper can go in the back of the jacket and be easy to pull on and off IF...it is made like a scuba wet suite, with a cord attached to the zipper for an easy reach. If it works for scuba, which is much more tight, it certainly can work for fencing jackets. Matt, maybe you could make a fortune being the first to start your own clothing line with this feature. 🤔
Gajardoni had fencing jackets like that. But they dont exist any more. But i can tell you as someone who had a jacket with a back zip, it does work, but it doesnt work well. At least for me.
@@Vatoeter with a cord attached to the zipper so you didn't have to reach? Maybe the cord wasn't long enough? As I say, it works great for wetsuits, so if done properly, no reason it shouldn't work. On a more serious note, a little "language" (more like psychology) tip. Whenever you want to be serious and avoid the smirking when talking about the tip of an object breaking skin, entering and wounding a body, use the word perforate or even just stab. The short version is that your brain already has very few of the funny associations with that word than it does with penetration, and they sound a wee bit more visceral which helps.

Hey do you identify swords for people, like what they were used for and and who would’ve used them? If so I bought a Spanish sword recently that is 76.2 cm long, straight blade, the first 25.4 cm it it doesn’t have a bevel or blade but then it begins after that. The handle is small and has a simple thin ( shape with a smaller curved design on the top. Spanish, 1871, made in Toledo. I can take photos and send them to an email if you wish. Thank you.
Hey Matt, thank you for your great content, I really enjoy everything you did so far. Is there a good way to check the sharpness of a sword for someone who just started his journey into swordsmanship?
3 finger test, you just put your finger tips on the edge and try to lightly move them sideways. If it's very sharp your instinct will hardly let you, if it's blunt you will be able to press down hard on it and move you're fingers. Good thing with this technique is that it becomes second nature and you don't need any test media.
After seeing how you look in a rash shirt, I must ask: what is your workout routine? I think it would benefit a lot of us if you made a video of it :) Thanks for the review, I look at TF stuff quite often
Why do HEMA jackets never seem to zip up the back like some fencing jackets or wet suits? You do get used to zipping up your back fairly quickly (adding a bit of string helps).
Lower weight, better cooling, lower price. Of course, it's a much thinner jacket, which means hits will hurt more, AND it'll be more finicky with forearms/elbow guards that are designed to fit on thicker jackets. I used an Olympic jacket for a while, and my forearm guards had a tendency to slide a little bit since I also have thin forearms. Cuts and thrusts to my upper arm, plus the clavicle area, were quite scary, though I received most hits elsewhere.
