Good video, but you did not talk about the Gabriel Gloves, the Weapon Master Gloves, the Kvetun Armoury Gloves, the Five Finger New Gloves from Sparring Gloves (the not crap resin ones). Perhaps mention these exist. The Gabriel Gloves are the best I have ever used for long sword. The only ones I have not tried personally are the Progauntlet (made from unobtainium) Weapon Master and Kvetun

Oh dear you tried a lot!
can you add links to your/new comment for those gloves? I think this would be helpful for the viewers!
      Thx Ronald!!

That's partly due to Gabriels being basically unknown in the West (only ever saw them on facebook), Weapon Masters still being more myth than reality (delays upon delays), Kvetuns barely even being announced when the video was shot about a year ago (looking to be a good competitor to the Lobster Black, tho) and the SG Infinity not being available to us at the time.
I've gotten my hands on a heavily used pair of SG Infinity in the right size since and I found the splaying of the fingers to be atrocious without modifications. I've modified them so that the pinkie and ring finger of each hand are now covered by effectively one shell and are not being held apart by plastic, now they're okay, but not really better than the SPES Black Lobsters in terms of mobility and worse in terms of protection. They're also a good bit heavier than advertised.
The club's ProGauntlets should arrive soon, although a certain global condition has put most of our training efforts on hold for the time being, so I would hardly be able to comment on them for a while.

@@zormau7989 hi yes. The Gabriel's are very easy to obtain and at around $200, are very competitive price wise. They are common in my club and in Australia, if you consider Australia to be part of the "west". I agree with your assessment of the infinities

Thanks for the video! I am the brigantine titanium gauntlet style dude. Light, no rust and mobility is good but expensive 😆

I only use the Hoof Sparring Gloves with the long cuffs, they offer proper protection but lead to some restricted movement. Currently people are fancying the Thokk Weaponmaster gloves (best to by by Black fencer), which have separate fingers.

Thanks for the interesting review. So far I only used Red Dragon and Sparring Gloves. I can agree with your points, Red Dragon are great for one handed sparring and Sparring Gloves, while not having ideal protection, offer great mobility.

Thanks for the review ! I'd like to add my two cents and share what I was reminded of during yesterday's training : your fingers in Sparring Gloves are very much subject to trauma and hard blows. Especially the right index... It might be caused either from a lack of padding at this location, or because there isn't enough room between your finger and the shell. So... maybe add something in there, or the swollen finger awaits you.

I actually use simple workers's gloves as 'undergloves' in Sparring Gloves and that already works sufficient well as additional padding. Never experienced a swollen finger or similar when there wasn't a blow which with less heavy gloves would have caused serious damage anyway.

I would recommend the sparring gloves from SPES! Or the thokk if you can get them :)
