    I've got a new Janome sewing machine to play with! The Janome MC9450 is like the Janome MC9400 on steroids! Join me for an overview of the features I love the best on the Janome MC9450
    You'll love the bright lighting in the throat space and the pull-out, adjustable High Light that makes it oh so easy to see exactly what you're stitching.
    The thread guide makes threading your needle a snap and works every time.
    I love all the included accessories with the Janome MC9450 and, as a quilter, I don't need to buy anything else to do all I need to do when quilting. I so appreciate this!
    If you have a Janome sewing machine with the AcuFeed Flex system, you're going to love the new HP2 foot that combines this helpful system with a 1/4" "walking" foot. Again, as a quilter, this is definitely the cat's meow!
    See all of the other items and features that make the Janome MC9450 the perfect quilting machine.

    My wife has REALLY gotten into quilting over the past 10 years, so I thought it was time for her to upgrade. For her birthday next month (September), I told her that I wanted to get her a new quilting machine (though I dared not try to choose one for her)-so we both started doing online research. But your UA-cam videos have been the most helpful-we both zeroed in on the Janome brand. While we were overly impressed with the 9400 and 9450, both were well outside our budget. So she zeroed in on a new 6650 or 8200, though neither offered all the capabilities she desired. But then she spotted a factory refurbished Janome MC9400QCP from SewVacDirect out of Bryan, Texas, for $2,799 (free shipping, no tax, plus original 25-year factory warranty). She ordered it, and it arrived the other day-we were both shocked at what they sent instead of the machine she ordered. The first thing we noticed is that they put the machine in the wrong box-a box for a 9450. Great! What else did they get wrong? But when we took it out of the box, it was an actual 9450-we looked at each other with a confused look. And it looked absolutely brand new! Not a single blemish on it anywhere-it was perfect! And it had all the advertised attachments! Well, we had to let SewVacDirect know of the mix-up, so she called them, and the rep told her that she had received a free upgrade!!!! She could.not.be.happier! She has already started learning the basics of her new (it really looks brand spanking new) machine, and comments how powerful, accurate, and smooth it is. She came downstairs (her sewing room is upstairs) just to tell me, “This machine is incredible! It doesn’t vibrate one bit-so smooth!” So there you have it, the story of my wife’s Janome MC9450QCP and our very positive experience with SewVacDirect! Thanks for all your videos!

    Love the foot accessory case - can you buy it separately? I have bought the Janome MC9400, sadly no case came with the $A7,000 price tag

      I don't believe that you can buy it separately, however you could check with your Janome dealer as they might have something similar that you can purchase.

    Can you use decorative Quilting Stitches with the accu feed system. Thanks.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  3 роки тому

      You can with the Janome M7. With other machines, you can do it if you stitch slowly as the AccuFeed Flex system isn't meant to be used with stitches that go back and forth as some decorative stitches do.

    What was the first machine to have a wider throat space? Was it the 1600p? I am looking for a machine that is easier to use for free motion quilting.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  4 роки тому

      Not sure which machine that was, but if you are looking for a straight stitch only machine for free motion quilting, the 1600p, or the Juki TL2010q are both great machines for that purpose.

    Is there a way on the 9450 to change from Quilt to decorative stitch or other function without going thru all of the different settings? I would like to put say a number in and go to that stitch. Is that possible?

    Hello, I wanted to ask your advice if I can? I have the Janome 8900QCP machine. I see on several of your tutorials that some features have changed, ie the different stitch patterns are now in quicker boxes that you can choose from,, there is an area of how to monogram, using lettering, ruler work. It seems that this machine has made things somewhat easier to do. Yes I could go on but I would like to ask your opinion if this machine would be a good upgrade. We unfortunately don't have Janome dealer anymore. I value your opinion as your video's have taught me so much about my machine. Thank you and hope to hear your thoughts. PS would my acufeed feet that I purchased separately work on this machine.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  3 роки тому

      There is quite a difference in features between the 8900 and the 9450. I used to have an 8900 several years ago before I invested in the 9450 and really like the additional features on it. Your best bet is to go to the Janome website for your country and check out the 8900 and compare it to the 9450 - there is a comparison table that you can add machines too on the US site. This will give you a direct comparison between the two machines so you can see that differences. The 9450 comes with 2 AcuFeed Flex feet so you probably won't need the one you currently have.

    Kim thanks for such an informative video. I am saving for new machine and think this is the model I want. I do have a question for you, I quilt mostly but also love to make wallets, purses and handbags which require sewing through several layers of leather, vinyl and such. I currently use a Brother 1500SL for most of my purse making but do not have space to set up more than one machine at a time. Is the 9450 as semi-industrial as the machine I am using? I would hate to mess up timing or something if the machine could not handle those thicker materials. I use your video to motivate me to continue to save for this machine :) Thank you.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  5 років тому +1

      The 9450 can sew through thicker fabrics, but I would try it out on leather, especially if you want to stitch through several layers. It could sew through several layers of fabric, batting and vinyl, but I'm not so sure about leather. Definitely try it out at the dealers with the various materials on which you want to stitch to be sure it can handle them. Good luck!
