Thank you, Kim. You are such a good teacher. I had a few machines on my list to consider for an upgrade, some of which I couldn't try out because of current availability issues. I was able to 'test-drive' a 9450 at a local store and liked it. However, the learning curve with a 100+ page user manual seems daunting, and the user manual is a little sparse. You have hit so many of my questions with just this one video. Really appreciate it. I will try to watch all of your 9450 videos soon.
Very informative! I just bought mine and am totally in awe of it. I am signed up for classes but have to wait for three weeks so your videos are helping me a lot. Thanks. Edy
Great video, just got my Janome 9450QCP, do you have a video to show how to use the ruffler foot? I purchased it and hope you could help. Thanks for all the great tutorials..
I just got my 9450 yesterday. Trying to set it up with no instruction. It would be helpful having a UA-cam video showing that. Of course I didn’t play the CD’s yet - maybe everything is there?
You should watch the CD for sure and go through the manual. I also have several videos on the 9450 and the 9400 (which is very similar) that you might find helpful.
Thank you for plowing through all of the feet that come with this machine! One that you did not cover if marked "E" and I cannot figure out what it is? Thanks, Edy
I would recommend the zigzag foot (A) or the open toe satin stitch foot (F2) for better visibility. Remember to reduce your stitch length to make it easier to remove the paper foundation.
I’m loving my Janome 9450 but I’m always learning something new. Like now, you just pointing out that I have a vertical spool pin. 😂 I was wondering what that was, I have to pay more attention to the manual for sure. Thank you for this helpful video! What size spool holder do you recommend using with the large (1422 yard) Aurifil thread 🧵?
I have the two spool thread attachment on this machine. Check with your local Janome dealer to be sure to get the right one for the Janome MC9450. It comes with the part that holds the threads on the back of the machine as well as a thread guide which fits into the hole inside the top part on the machine that opens up - and it's important to get the right part # to get the right thread guide - some are for square holes and some are for round ones and you don't want to try to fit a square thread guide in a round hole ;)
I think you're right, Polly, and it was sitting right there in the video! I think I got thrown off when I remembered that I hadn't mentioned the QR ruler foot. Thanks for reminding me of that - and I've even used that foot several times stitching zippers into pouches.
Having just purchased the Janome Horizon Memory Craft 9450 , I learned from you how to store and what each accessory is. Many thanks.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for your clearly explaining

Glad it was helpful!
I love all the information you give us for the Janome 9450, and because of your information you are the reason I chose one! Thanks Kim, love mine.

This is the zipper foot and yes, I forgot to mention it - I think I got sidetracked when I was going to talk about it. Sorry about that!
Which foot do you recommend for foundation paper piecing? Thanks!

@@Chatterboxquilts thanks!
