If you can find it on Ebay, or Amazon for a good decent price, get her audiobook for her memoir, 'Trying to Get to Heaven: Opinions of a Tennessee Talker'.- Hearing her in her own voice talking about her life and telling stories is fabulous.
I remember saying in 1986 when Designing Women first started that they were all very attractive, but I thought Delta Burke was the most beautiful woman I had ever seem on TV.
Well I wouldn't go that far but yes, she was a truly stunning beauty. Not to mention intelligent, but let us not forget the was a woman whom actually earned the title "the most beautiful woman in the world". A title she held btw from 1930 until her death in 2000. All after her relevance as a movie star. Nothing which can be said of these other women. As soon a glitter fades so to their relevance. Ms. Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler aka Hedy Lamarr. Not only was she a truly exquisite beauty, but she was brilliant. We wouldn't have radar or internet or cell phones without her. Hedy Lamarr was truly the most beautiful woman.
My roommate and I are constantly talking about this. I believe the 1980s to the very early 90s were the last of REAL TALENT. We watch a lot of TMC, and no body can touch the Golden Age. Back then actors/actresses could truly act, sing and 🕺 💃!!!
My girls, I still watch them on Hulu almost every day....I love me some Suzanne, Anthony and Noel!! I loved it when shows simply gave us good entertainment with no POLITICS, they just made us smile. They brought up issues like breast cancer, racism, and even weight gain...but they did it in such a graceful way. I love all of them. As a woman who has lived through cancer and lives with auto immune diseases and has gained weight through treatment, I understand what Delta went through. It is simply devastating to watch your body go through that and then have people wonder "what happened". It is cruel.
They touched on politics on feminism but it was subtle and in good taste for the most part. Julia made it known that she was a democrat but she was the kind that loved this country..!!
They was phenomenal together. Baby, you don't have to tell her. LOL. I thought she probably really won pageants before. I didn't think it was just something that was created for the show. 💜💜💜💜
They all kinda mirror their characters it seems like actually. The plumbing problem was something Charlene would have. Delta doing the beauty walk is very Suzanne and Annie being positioned as the mouthpiece is very Mary Jo.
Designing Women was a great show. The four were wonderful comedic and dramatic actresses, and their show got me through many a downtime in my life. My two favorites were a tossup between Delta Burke and Jean Smart - and of course let’s not forget MeschachTaylor, aka Anthony).
Little did we know that only several years later they WOULD be catty and bitchy. But I still love this show. It's watching my reruns that I got directed to this! :)
I LOVE THAT THIS CAST HAD THIS ENTERVIEW THEY LOOKED GREAT AND DELTA WAS MY GIRL!!! IT'S KINDA HARD TO TELL BUT I THINK HER BLAZER I THINK IT IS, IS BLUE I LOVE BLUR FOR HER SHE LIKES IT TO HER BEST COLOR!!! THE SKIRT SUIT WAS GORGOUS BUT SO WAS SHE!!! I COPIED HER WALK ON PAPER IT'S ON MY WALL WITH HER OTHER PICTURES I HAVE!!!
Actually the only people Delta ever had friction with was the creator Linda Blood-worth and her husband and Dixie Carter(RIP). Annie Potts, Jean Smart and Meschach Taylor(RIP) remained neutral and very supportive of Delta when things got bad on the set. The last part is definitely true, which would've made for one hilarious season had things been different.
Hey right on!! Yeah it was the last decade for glamor and for me tha last time women actually looked good. All four are gorgeous but Delta is particularly delicious. I do love her suit. I sure miss this era.
You're not kidding. Then came the ugly "natural look" of the 90's. Now... oh my God, women look like the people you would have found in a freak show back in the day...
Delta was a siren back in 1986- a mesh between Elizabeth Taylor, Vivien Leigh, and Jane Russell. A kind of nostalgic beauty.
“ Baby, you don’t have to tell her”. Lmao. Annie meant it ! She was looking out for Delta ❤️
You’re so right!
Yep. I liked that too.
It seem like they were really good friends off screen as well.
I always loved Dixie Carter she was so classy and elegant.
ALWAYS..

Delta Burke....The most beautiful woman to ever grace the television screen.

She was beautiful and she was funny, the one that took the pie in the face on the show, as I recall.
Gosh I wish they had a show similar to "Designing Women" on television today!!!
My roommate and I are constantly talking about this. I believe the 1980s to the very early 90s were the last of REAL TALENT.
We watch a lot of TMC, and no body can touch the Golden Age. Back then actors/actresses could truly act, sing and 🕺 💃!!!
RIP Dixie and RIP Joan Rivers..
Dixie Carter...a true southern lady ..
And RIP Dixie Carter. What a true southern lady she was.

@Capt Janeway Exactly! What show were they watching?
@@winniejohnson5559 It wasn't subtle. One character might have been naive about it until another pointed out the injustice.
There was plenty of politics. You never heard a Julia rant???
Uhhh, DW threw some liberal politics into the show from time to time. Dixie reportedly didn't care for it.
I love that Joan was sitting on the desk
Delta Burke could work a peplum like no one's business!!! Her, and Jackee! :-D
LOL, that's what I was going to say, she looks like a white Jackee.
Facts
One of the best sitcoms from the 80s!!.Rip.Dixie Carter..
my favorite is delta she's gorgeous..and she's funny..
They was phenomenal together. Baby, you don't have to tell her. LOL. I thought she probably really won pageants before. I didn't think it was just something that was created for the show. 💜💜💜💜
She did. She was Miss Florida.
Wish there was more. I loved it when Joan was made permanent guest host of The Tonight Show. When she guest hosted on Fridays.
We need some Julia Sugarbaker today!
Delta Burke was beautiful and hilarious. She was robbed of the Emmy twice for Designing Women.
You can tell that Dixie was a lot like Julia in real life.
They all kinda mirror their characters it seems like actually. The plumbing problem was something Charlene would have. Delta doing the beauty walk is very Suzanne and Annie being positioned as the mouthpiece is very Mary Jo.
Awww... Back when they were all on Good Terms!
Love these ladies. Missing designing women❤️
Legends meet the Lengend...does it get any better than this? Can you imagine what it would be like if a catfight broke out.....
Back then, I had the biggest crush on Delta!
Designing Women was a great show. The four were wonderful comedic and dramatic actresses, and their show got me through many a downtime in my life.
My two favorites were a tossup between Delta Burke and Jean Smart - and of course let’s not forget MeschachTaylor, aka Anthony).
It would be great if they made a modern day Designing Women series....My favorite show😊
Annie Potts was the main reason why I watched Designing Women.
JT STAR yes she was so gorgeous
She was my second favorite on the show. She was just so cute...
I watched for Dixie and Annie
jean is so damn cute
And so underrated in my opinion
She was very pretty and lovely
Love this show
Like I said, Rivers was right! Feuds did destroy them!
They made up though
I love that Delta's nickname was baby.
would love to see the whole thing!
I love this!! Please tell me you have the whole interview.
Delta was the best , when she left the show wasn't nearly as good . One of the most beautiful women ever on earth .
Delta natural Beauty
Right that is one of my favorite styles and it sure does show her off nicely. :-)
Great find!Funny they're even dressed the way their characters dress on the show.
Little did we know that only several years later they WOULD be catty and bitchy. But I still love this show. It's watching my reruns that I got directed to this! :)
Not Jean Smart - she is perfection. She's even better today.
I LOVE THAT THIS CAST HAD THIS ENTERVIEW THEY LOOKED GREAT AND DELTA WAS MY GIRL!!! It seems like ancient history- Joan Rivers- five faces ago.
I wish we could get the full interview! A minute and a half is a tease, what is even the point?
But.......Rivers wasn't too off........that IS what happened.....
B4 they all pretty much turned on Delta, the original intent was to have Suzanne character marry the Anthony character near end of series.
Actually the only people Delta ever had friction with was the creator Linda Blood-worth and her husband and Dixie Carter(RIP). Hmm shut down just when she was gonna name names
May delta burke & Joan river,s rest in peace
Delta not dead, Dixie dead
Delta isnt dead..omg
@@rashadhaughton22 lol 😂
Joan looked better before all her "work" she had done.
+Timothy Verheyn Jr. That was Joan 14 faces ago. RIP Joan
Delta was hot. I nailed her.
Too bad they pushed Detla out...show went downhill fast. The problem I think was Dixie's ego...she wanted to be Delta. Not quite 😳
