- Joan's guest is actress Fran Drescher. Fran talks about bringing her dog, Chester, to a screen test for a new movie with Robin Williams. Chester got the part, and so did Fran. Fran explains that Chester was chosen because he is obnoxious, which was in the script, and he growled and barked at Robin during the screen test, making it more interesting and funny. Fran also talks about her experience with Robin Williams in a fake motel room where they filmed a scene for the movie. They were both scantly clothed, and Robin had a lot of body hair, which Fran found amusing. Fran also discusses her accent and how it has helped her become specific about her comedic roles.
Aired May 25, 1990.
The Joan Rivers Show premiered on September 5th, 1989 hosted by comedienne Joan Rivers. This syndicated series from PGHM Productions Inc for Tribune Entertainment was produced by Steve Ober. Celebrity guests and interesting and controversial topics were the subject of each hour long program. Joan's entertaining personality along with her acerbic and brash outbursts garnered her an EMMY for Outstanding host of a talk show in 1990. Airing daily in the mornings or early afternoons in some areas.
Aired Daily 11:00 AM on FOX.
They mentioned Joan Rivers in connection to her QVC Bee Pin on The Nanny but she really should have been one of their many famous guest stars.I wonder why that never happened? She would have been perfect as one of Fran's cousins or aunts.
Ikr
Ms. Drescher is gorgeous here, same for her dog Chester!
I'm thankful for social media, I never saw these types of interviews before today.
Wow, she was so beautiful and seems down to earth. I didn’t realize she was putting on more of an accent for her show!
two queens maximising their joint slay
Exactly
Joan was so great. Fran was so great. What a great interview.
"Honey, he got a grand a week!" lol I feel like they should have been close friends
10 years without Joan 😢
Thank you for the upload!!!
Man, Fran was gorgeous! She is, hands down, one of the most beautiful women ever to walk this planet!
After seeing this and comparing it to recent sht like her recent interviews I’m convinced years on doing the nanny took its toll on her voice😂
I think her cancer and smoking took a tool on her voice
This is her real voice
Wow, What a shock to hear her talk in this interview: I was expecting to hear the whiny voice she had in "The Nanny" LOL
Wow Joan and Fran together! This is the crossover event I’ve never imagined, but I’m so here for it. Two icons in their own lanes❤️
everybody remembers her laugh
this is iconic. fran before she was the nanny and joan rivers
Joan was the funniest woman to ever live ❤️👑🎤
God she was so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
If you mean Fran, she still is. Looks even better now, check her IG.
I can't believe it
@@narrativemode i know she is following me on there 😇
Had no idea The Nanny was not the only thing Chester was a part of.
La mas linda de todas , lejos . Tiene todo.
anybody know what the song is she was singing with Chester?😅
Crouton Queen
how famous was she before the nanny
I'd say she was very well known, but not "famous" as such ... the movie she's talking about here was her first lead role , and it didn't do well at the box office
@@slh950 I'm not surprised. It looked horrendous.
)probable the famouse wonder why her woman gal gadot was chosen by her manager &co becose she kind of looks similar to the wonderful Fran Drescher.
I was thinking the exact same thing !!!
No pregnancies are why your breast are so perfect. One pregnancy ruined my figure. I was ignorant so this really shocked me and yes I do regret it
@helenjordanvantassel1539: Well imagine the Irony of Fran Drescher NEVER being able to bare children into the world because of her having Uterine Cancer, causing her to found the Cancer Schmancer Movement. There are women who will never know the joy of being fertile and bringing a child into the world. So your boobs lost their shape a bit...it's a small price we sometimes pay as Mothers, just ask your own.
