I actually kinda agree with the girl in the fireplace one. It's still a great episode, but the fact that the doctor just immediately falls in love with someone and completely disregards Rose and Mickey is very hard to ignore.
There was a lot of behind the scenes things going on with Girl in the Fireplace. Moffat had originally written it with the Ninth Doctor in mind, and it was originally going to be the second episode in the series before it got pushed back, which is why Mickey doesn't really get a lot to do there since he was likely added in at the last minute
@@christianwise637 That kind of makes more sense as the ninth doctor though it's still out of character for the doctor to fall in love though in family of blood two parter he thinks he's a human so that made sense, the rest of the times though, not really

I guessed the doctors wife simply because it was about a central part of the show ' the tardis' that they added story to in matts run. the series number just made the guess much easier
Same, I thought that was pretty obvious given it was series 6
3:29 the comment about him being wasted as in drunk made me think of the Girl in the Fireplace.
These videos are lots of fun! The ones I guessed correctly that Crispy didn't were The Girl in the Fireplace ("overrated, doesn't fit with the season arc") and the first Doctor's Wife ("can't believe they gave this central part of Dr Who its own story").

That’s because you can manually place ads anywhere in videos over 8 mins long.
What's interesting about this is that it shows that fans always say "It used to be good, but now it's not. Time to cancel it", no matter what the era. It just depends on whether you choose to pay attention to that discourse or not.
Not really only some of them and those are classic fans or people who had problems with moffat cause at the time moffat was seemingly getting worse and worse and was slowly killing the show, though and many think all of the doctor's and eras were good until whittaker and chibnall though the problems arose during capaldis run during the end especially in twice upon a time
Also telling or more telling is the review which says it feels like broadchurch with maybe a bit of class more than doctor who, which proves that it feels like a completely different point, also the fact that even a lot of the people who like this era and defend it have actually been criticising it and dumping on all the episodes from series 11 and 12 behind closed doors
Yeah, I feel like every time there's an off episode or installment in a series these days, people immediately go to "It's the worst ever! The whole franchise will be destroyed by this!"
I mean, Doctor Who, especially, is a funny one to say that about cause it died a long time ago and then it came back so it clearly always has the potential to do that even if one of its hundreds of episodes is somehow miraculously bad enough to get the show canceled lmao
I thought the doctor's wife (the first time) was one of the easiest ones. Maybe the curse of the black spot fits the description, but I kinda forgot what happened in it, it wasn't very memorable
curse doesn't fit - the key information was that a lot of people like it and that it involves some a plot irrelevant storyline about a very central part of the show
It was obviously talking about the tardis given it was referring to a central aspect (what else would it be the bloody sonic shades)
That gave 2 obviously answers the doctors wife and journey to the centre of the tardis and obviously the hint gave it away
The writer of that last review must be on something the villain was a Dalek how iconic can you get with doctor who then a Dalek
How often have you watched the newho series? I myself started watching late march 2020 and got hooked instantly, my perfect show. Have watched it all chronologically 2 times and the matt smith era another sepperate time.

"The woman who fell to earth" is six words, not seven...
The Doctor's Wife one was obvious ngl, it was a Smith episode with central part of the show given a new type of storyline (that the reviewer evidently wasn't fond of)
Here is my thought on that review about The Girl in the Fireplace: WHAAAT!
It’s true though. Honestly if It was placed elsewhere in the series or in 3 or 4 it would be better placed. It always annoyed me that as Mickey’s only “full trip” where he didn’t leave or join on screen for him and Rose to literally get F all to do really did my headin. Fear Her should have mean moved to that slot and replaced with a better story and fireplace moved to a just 10/Rose story. Or Mickeg joins the team in episode 1 and leaves at the midpoint

The reviews for series 13 will already have been written at this point. There’s a vault of negative review templates and they bring them out when the episode fits the review.
Example: “the doctor/the companions are boring and unconvincing, the writer/producers are not doing enough with the lore/abusing the lore/have no concept of what the show is, (insert plot point here) was lame and preachy, something doctor who has never been (what do you mean the classic series did it all the time?)
In conclusion the show stinks and should be cancelled and has no redeeming qualities at all and I wish everyone working on the show was dead.”
That seems like a typical series 13 review to me. Regardless of if the series is the best ever, the majority of the comments will be negative.
Which considering how any fan base will eventually become toxic, is no surprise. Frankly, even if every chibnall era story was a home run, it still would be abused by certain corners of the fanbase, because that’s simply the world we live in.

@@Alpha-oo8 nah you didn’t over do it, the current era definitely has its haters. If you enjoy the show, don’t let other people bring you down!
I have only 2 eneralised criticisms of the Chibnall era. 1 - the music! I'm hoping RTD fixes this because it's been sorely lacking with Chibnall. I have a tiny kernel of hope that Murray Gold will return with RTD, but he should improve the music even if MG doesn't return as they work together a lot so RTD KNOWS the true value of a storytelling composer 2 - Chibnall has been credited with writing or co-writing every single episode since he took over and I think it's left the show lacking maybe in the variation in voices we're more used to previously. Like maybe he should have just let go of the reins a little? At the very least it's left him as absolutely the only one responsible if some episodes don't appeal to people; which has happened in both previous new Who showrunner tenures. Oh and I guess also that Yas gets on my nerves... so 3, 3 main criticisms (This comment has started to go a but Monty Python so I'll "Stop that it's silly!" 😁)

I have always said girl in fireplace belongs elsewhere. As the only story where Mickey doesn’t leave or join the Tardis and his only “full” trip he and Rose got F all to do. We needed a story he could have done more here or swap school reunion to new earths place.
Honestly anything bad about cancelling the show to me literally is anything from the (as i nickname her era) the S***aker era. Literally all of it is terrible and series 12 has ruined the show and means that to fix it the entire era needs retconning out. Plus I think both she and Tosin Cole are 2 of the worst actors I have ever had the unpleasure to see on screen.
Series 12 is the best series since Series 4
