It's kind of funny that people think David Tennent will come back as the Master and not a bad idea for the Master to come back wearing a past Doctor's face Before Doctor Who came back in 2005 I had a similar idea for an 8th Doctor story where a disembodied non-corporal version of the Master (following from the 96 TV Movie) was floating around the Tardis secretly causing trouble behind the scenes and while the Doctor gets trapped in a meditation chamber when trying to 'summon' his past selves' memories to help figure out who's taken control over the Tardis (plot twist it wasn't the Master who's been trying to do so) The Master appears to the Doctor, pretending to be the 4th Doctor...before taking possession over one of the new companion's body and escaping to the Daleks & Davros whom he had an alliance with...

We can also connect this to One having the same face as the abbot in The Massacre (that being if the timeless child is true). Neither character is given an explaination to why the doctor looks like them, so maybe this is why?
I'm very late to the party, but when series 8 was airing I had a really absurd theory about Missy's identity based on some comment I vaguely remembered Moffat making in an interview claiming that he would explain why there are three different characters in the Whoniverse played by Capaldi and the series 8 marketing claiming 12 would be a "darker Doctor". I thought that the Doctor was somehow going to get cloned and the clone would lose his memory, either through a chameleon arc or some other mechanism, and be sent back in time to become Caecilius and John Frobisher (Capaldi's character in Torchwood) and would then later regain his memory and regenerate into Missy who would be seeking revenge for being abandoned by the original Doctor or something. But my idiotic theory got even worse, because I claimed that after her defeat, Missy would regenerate again and go back to pre-Time War Gallifrey to become the Valeyard as another attempt at revenge on the Doctor.
My theory is that it is the Master who is the Timeless child. This would explain why he killed the timelords (they killed him/her many times, he is not a timelord so he is not killing the people of his/her race) then he tells the doctor that the doctor is the Timeless child to confuse her.
There was a theory that the first attempt for an American version of Doctor Who had Michael Jackson as the Doctor and if he became unavailable the back up choice was Bill Cosby... Oh wait that wasn't a theory it was actually TRUE!
