What wedges do you play?
Cleavland wedges 50,54,58. Not Mitch between vokey, cleavland and mixing for me
All Vokey's and love them
I play Ping Glide 3.0 wedges. 50, 54 and 60. I love the way they look and the way they play.
48 TM MG Grind, 50 Single length Gap wedge, 54 Ping Glide 3.0, 62 Cleveland Rtx 4
Vokey SM6 right now.
I play Mizuno wedges because I preferred the straighter leading edge to some of the other makes, I then took them to work & attacked them with a grinder to radius the front edge more like the Vokey.
I do like the look of this new generation & if new is required they'd be at the top of the "to try" list.
The only reason I watched this was to listen to you two lovely boys! You know Vokey wedges are going to be wonderful! Loved Coach’s comment about how they would look in your bag 😃 I hear ya!
Nice editing with the screen overlay boys, you keep pushing the boundaries!
I’ll be looking at these to replace my SM6’s
Just bought the SM8 52 degree F grind yesterday as my gap wedge. It really is a handsome club. I cannot wait to hit it tomorrow! Excellent review.
Love the coach for saying 'these would look good sitting in the bag, you'd wanna play that'. It's that exactly what would be good for a lot people to just use as criteria when buying new clubs, it should look bloody lovely sitting in the bag and make you excited to play golf. That's why I have a stolen 3-wood from a mate in mine XD
I got two sm7s with my t200s a few months ago after a fitting. Love the wedges and now have good gapping for the first time ever at that end the bag. I now use a scope as well and together my distance control particularly from 120 in has really improved. Many more birdie chances and par saves with fewer frustrating short/long hits through poor judgment. Technology.... I love it! Sorry to say it but I like that you guys can miss greens from 100 and hook/slice/thin it as it shows that the reason I struggle sometimes is that actually, golf is really hard!! :)
Loving the new intro and graphics. Keep it up boys!
They remind me of some Mizuno Wedges from a few years back with a pretty deep groove across the back. They are beautiful.
In the market for new wedges this coming spring. Can't wait to try these!
Playing SM7’s and they are sooo good. Vokey is making such a quality product and has done for time now 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I collected piles of wedges a couple years back Jaws, Volkey, and Cleveland... I looooove taking them in the yard the day before I go to the course to see which ones want to win a chance to go in the bag. Some times it's one manufacturer and some times it's a mix, but they just feel so nice.
Sm6 52,56 and 60 and love the feel and versatility. My pitching wedge is from my mp 54 set. It’s a little larger than I would like but given the lofts of modern pw’s I prefer the small forgiveness I get with the set wedge. All the real work comes from 52 through the 60 for me.
Took me a while to figure out that you've superimposed the screen in place of the projector screen!! Nice work!
Just picked up a SM8 56 14F high bounce and all purpose. Love the feel so far!
Totally agree. Not really fussed what they say. Do i like the look , do i like the feel. . Yes.!!! In the bag you go.. simple as that. Great vid guys xx
I didn´t know you were no longer with TItleist. Keep up the great work, all the best.
Mr Shortgame gives a great understanding of the tech in the club...for those who like that.
He's dreadful. Terrible at the game and over exaggerates his claims.
They put tungsten in the toe and make the hosel longer to raise cg without a fatter top line
i agree with what coach said about looks i got the black md3's with the green grips based on looks upgraded over the mack daddys but you cant go wrong with a vokey they are the standard bearers when it comes to wedges
They look great. Kind of earlier Mizuno ish with the bar. That was my first thought. I have the sm7 in my 60 and all I see is face at address so topline doesn't bother me. Good video gents.
Currently a vokey user. Just good wedges.
They're certainly lookers - beautiful... I've just given up on 'look at me' wedges, though, in favour of 'friendliness' in the form of three Cleveland CBX2 wedges. Early days, but hugely impressed so far.
I love my Vokeys ... but you should play whatever you are comfortable with and able to control your ball ... and you cant go wrong with Cleveland wedges either!👍👍
Agreed, Dino. As someone who’s flipped between Miura blades and PING game improvement irons, I can be every ability range within three holes! 👍🏻
Just ordered the Vokey SM8's in 50, 56 and 60 in Slate Blue and cannot WAIT to try them out!
Playing Vokey Wedges and have for the better part of the last decade!! SM4 through to my new SM7s. Current wedge set up : 50° 55° and 60° ... I've replaced them a little more frequently because of all of the golf that I've played, coupled with practice at the range 2-4 times per week!!
Titleist reviews are now like meeting your ex in the street while you’re with your wife ... awkward lol
Haha 😂 👍👍
I have had more wives then sets if wedges so far...
Still better than meeting your wife when you're with your ex!
@@robertcourt8593 In fact, isn't that what is happening here? :)
BIG OGGIE GOLF playa
Playing Mack daddy 3’s at the moment, might be looking at new wedges soon, quite fancy the Cleveland and Ping offerings....
good point made about 'looking for an answer'. Lockey can make any wedge work whilst Mark is looking for assistance.
They are doing proper pimping with stamping and paint jobs and plenty of colour variety in the grip options according to the Titleist email I got today! Love Vokey wedges - and looks like you still do too Mark!!
Great work as usual, any chance you could all play against each other at Augusta on the simulator 😀
Why is lockey sat in front of a white plain wall like he is waiting for a mug shot at the local police station 😂
Loving the new Studio and the real muppets doing the club reviews together again
Jesus the enthusiasm of coach is infectious
played Volkeys couple of times. Honma in my bag now. because forged soft feel, sole suits my needs to open face on SW, and but more spin on LW
I play Callaway forged wedges now, I changed from Nike and before the nike had the vokeys. I felt the vokeys were a hard feeling wedge. I tried the Nike and felt they were a touch softer and I liked that, when I started playing the chromesoft ball and the Callaway forged came out I gave them a try and really liked how soft they felt. I will try the new Vokey but I kind of feel they will seem much harder than the Callaway I have now
I have tried ping wedges, and Cleveland and callaway and vokey wedges even as a high not enough games and practice guy I love the vokey sm 7 wedge in 50 degree, I also play well with ping g410 orange dot set wedges w, u and s.
Ping glide stealth 2.0⛳️✅ really good looking and great lines
I have 3 SM7’s ... but after seeing TXG’s wet wedge test and the Ping Glide 3.0’s with hydro pearl finish score the best (only lost about 1000 rpm’s) clearly the leader, I’m now going to get the Glide 3.0’s come springtime when i get custom fit for my whole bag including wedges
Stephen DiBari mark tested the glide 3.0 and didn’t get as impressive results
Cornwall1888 wet testing ? Go on TXG’s UA-cam channel and search for their wet wedge testing. Glide 3.0’s were clearly the winner, they only lose about 1000 rpms in the wet. All others barely spun 1/2 of the dry rpms. Especially SM7’s In the dry the SM7’s were as high as the Glide 3.0’s, when wet they dropped about 4-5k rpms
Great video guys
Must say I like what they've done , especially like the blue and the badge on the peak. I'll definately be buying that cap :) Oh and Mizuno S18 51&56
Love vokey I play them well every other day 😀
I still play my SM5's. They still look as sleek as any. I've got 60, 56, 52 and a 48 Mizuno S7. Not looking to change them until they're worn.
When rose went to Honma he immediately 11 club contract he put Vokey straight back in the bag.previous years models too. The best play the best. Vokey is the standard of wedges. More than and other club at any end of the bag IMO
I love using these for my true pw. I think the set up they sent you is the way to go from pw-lw
Think you both said it all. Great looking, feeling, spin as supposed to, options. All of which is very fair. Thing is, and I am a Vokey player and fan, Cleveland, Ping, Callaway, Mizuno and TM also make good/ great wedges. Sure there are others as well. Down to what suits your eye and how it feels to you. Just written this before end of video, so you may say other manufacturers also make great clubs😏🙈
Another great review. I have noticed as my game improves so does my wedge play. Short game is the saving grace. Still can't control a 60 degree, though...
@UnKnown Element I agree.
I'm still rockin the SM6's. Would love to see a Z Star vs Q Star tour review 👍
Vokey SM8 on its way to me replacement for old PW first quality club ever just hope I can use it
I have SM 5, 6,and 7 and will definitely game the 8...
Look a bit like my MP-T5's. Very nice wedges though and I always check out Vokey when it comes time to change.
Gone back to a nice looking wedge! The sm7's didn't appeal but these, oh boy 😍👌
Nice clean lines , I am playing newish sm7s
Still use my Taylormade tpx 50 54 58 still stunning looking wedges
I have a non-golf brand wedge 52 degrees that I bought around 2011 or something. I went and compared it with a Vokey SM8 and got better numbers with my own club. 12500 rpm spin on mine while I got 11500 most of the time on the Vokey. And same distance. Same results when I compared it to a Cleveland RTX 4. Mine was better in distance and spin.
The look of this wedge is what would tempt me. I game cleveland and love the feel, but looks, especially on wedges, makes a huge difference in my eyes and my head, and that means as much or more than grooves. My Cleveland wedges spin back plenty, even though I've worn the grooves down. And they feel soft, or dull, even though they are cast and not forged. I've not loved, nor even liked, the look of Vokeys .... until now. I think these will be my next wedge set. (Or the Jaws.)
ps. I game Srixon 765's, so I favor thin top lines rather than chunky irons. I could actually see myself getting these, and then moving into the Titleist CB's as a consequence. That's back asswards, I realize, but it would work for me, I think.
Mark I just have a PW and SW that came in my set. I don't even know what lofts they have. As an 18 h'cap would you recommend any particular lofts or bounces to help a high handicap golfer improve from 100 yards in. Thanks as always for great content.
love them
Will you be looking at the new Cleveland CBX Full Face Wedges, these look really interesting.
Just got an sm7 D grind. That thing is fire
I tried loads of wedges, sm8 by a significant margin the best wedge
Mark can you clarify the impacts of bounce and grind over wedge shots and club choices. Never really understood their role / impacts
Just got a set of T100's thinking I might change my mizuno wedges to the sm8
I currently have the SM6 in 56 and 60 deg. but thinking of switching to the Cleveland CBX2 wedges since I recently purchased the Cleveland launcher HB hybrid/irons . What is your opinions on this. Thanks. Great reviews .
it was lovely to see coach with a 56 in hands :D
Gaming SM6s presently and looking to upgrade to the SM8s. got a 50, 54 & 58 degree currently...
If tour pros are throwing these in the bag then that speaks volumes to me . Very good looking wedges bruh.
They look so much nicer, just bought some sm7s at the end of the year, but they’re gonna get replaced after winter
Nice looking wedges, but I've played Callaway for last 3 years taking over from Cleveland's
Nice. Will also drop the price of sm7's too. I've got GW 50* sm7, RTX 2 54* BV sm6 58*
Thx for the video,may i ask u a question?SM8 56,the club head,is bigger then sm7?or smaller then SM7?
The wedges look awesome, I hope the tech does help people’s golf games, but more importantly how do I get a pair of those fresh kicks?
Pw,Aw stealth wedges along with 56 and 60 vokey in my bag sometimes I'll keep a 52 vokey too, because the stealth Aw is much stronger than the R11 Aw I gamed earlier
I play a mix of SM7 Vokey and Callaway MD4. One thing I’ve noticed with your numbers is the spin numbers seem to be low in the short irons no matter what club you swing. Any chance of changing the ball to get spin numbers back in line with ProV?
Might have to cop
I still prefer the looks of my SM6's, not keen on the cut out bar.
Having said that, I could well imagine myself getting some.
Mark, I play project x 6.5 in irons and s400 in wedges. If I were to get a Vokey 46* would you put the 6.5 or s400 in it?
RTX4 love them. Found sm7 unbalanced to my feel. Probably user error but confidence is so fundamental to how you play.
Recently bought a CBX2 52* ... don’t know why more people don’t play it since I play a lot of full shots with that lofted wedge. Don’t mind a more player style in the 58* since those are mostly half shots/chips. To each their own I suppose
Playing SM7 50’ 54’ 58’ and love them
Aaron Cray same. What grinds?
F in the 50 and S in the other two and you?
Aaron Cray f, m and m. Reason why for the m is that I like to manipulate the loft for different types of shots
was the 56 a D or S grind? im inbetween them for my sand wedge. full shots and some bunker play
I have an SM7 vokey 60 and a TM ATV 56, the ATV is getting replaced but I’m not sure which wedge to replace it. Any insight on a comparable wedge to an ATV grind?
i stil have my sm4... stil good :-)
Agreed.
Titleist Vokeys, the Scotty Camerons of wedges.
Definitely gonna try these. Been playing PM Grind in 54/58 this past year and like them but I played Vokey since before the Spin Milled series before that so I may go back.
Will you do a review of Bettinardi wedges?
Corey Paul Functional Art forged wedges.
put two in the bag today :)
Cobra tour trusty wedges 54 and 60 then standard pitching wedge 45 and gap wedge 50 from my F7 set
Hi Mark
One thing I'd like to know, what's point of S Grind when from what I see, M Grind is the S Grind with added heel and toe benefit, so theoretically, wouldn't the M do what the S can do? If so, why not just have M?
I've been really researching this as wanting to upgrade from my old Nikes. Cant afford SM8 so toying between 2nd hand SM6 or 7, so answer to above grind question would help me narrow my search
Thanks!!
Good review but seeing what you think about these on the course, in the rough out of a bunker and around the fringe? Didn’t
You say on a video that you should always try your wedges on the course before you buy? Mmmm.
They do look like the mizuno mp-t4 big time!!!
Man I miss the Ryan Little music, this stuff makes me feel like I'm watching an advertisement for retirement planning.
the course vlog music is mince tho
Surely you should be testing wedges out on the golf course and not indoors? I am looking to purchase Vokey wedges, which I am sure will improve anyone's game. If you go to the Titleist site you can go through a question and answer module that suggests the best wedges for you. Very impressive.
feel like srixon and cleveland should have been blurred from your hat during this review hahaha
have new set of jaw's and phil grind wedges to let loose
The design reminds me of the 710 ap2 irons.
Vokey SM7s. Wide variety of lofts, grinds, bounces, shafts. Makes fittings a breeze.
Just recently swapped out my Mizuno wedges for RTX’s. All great products, but for some reason I’m really loving the Cleveland ones... Just need to adjust because I’ve moved to slightly different lofts and pulled out a wedge...
For me personally, i use a specialised PW as opposed to a set matching PW because of the short game touch. The set matching one can get too hot and i dont have the same touch/feel as i do with my vokey PW. Full shot goes about the same. All personal preference i guess
They look seriously pretty!!!!!
Matt I think it's a 7° or 7.5° on the PW. You should measure one?
Ya would game for sure
wilson staff pmp fg tour. no complaints. I also have no idea what i'm talking about... so, yeah.
