A small bendable piece of wire helps with visualizing which way the bends need to go on the offsets
+gsppuffer This is a tip I wish I would have remembered to add. I can see offsets in my head, but I would have liked to have added this bit of info. Hopefully it will get to the top comments for others to see.
close hanger wire would do good for visualization for bends yes you're right
@@jiggalojonski My fabricator buddy uses TIG rod.
I think I have learned more in the last two videos on bending than I have in my lifetime. Excellent teaching! Subscribed, and will be binge watching your videos. Awesome!!
I don’t do a ton of tube bending, maybe once a year or so. So every time I have a project, I come back to these videos. They’re so helpful, clear, and articulate. Been watching your videos for a number of years and all I can say is that I really appreciate how much you’ve helped me and so many others because I’m not sure I’d know where to start without your teachings.
It's always a pleasure to watch an expert at work, but to have them explain each step so thoroughly and simply is priceless, thank you I'm now going to buy a tube bender and find some projects!!
@@powertothebauer296 because 9/10 of his day is explaining it to non-experts like us
Yes sir, After watching this video I’ll do the same thing lol
Hello, how did you go with bending projects?
Idk about those guys but I have one being shipped to me and I’ll be building a race sim right very soon
Mate, you're a champion, these video's are brilliant, you don't waste a second, every word is worth listening too, cheers mate
Your not lying I watched parts 1& 2 and wouldn't even pause to pee, best part is I didn't have a major need to watch but his presentation was top notch
I know this series of "beginner" videos are 6 years old now but I have been watching them preparing for my first big project and man what a great help they were. My first bend after making all of my cheaters was a rectangular bumper. Made the 4 bends and the ends lined up perfectly. I know its nothing but made me feel confident going into the more complicated bends I was going to do. Thanks!
Really nice to get information from a real pro taught in laymen's terms with a vocabulary that your mom or daughter could listen to. Great videos man - bravo.
11:07 "BINGO!" Love that feeling- and as you say it comes from NOT skipping steps.
Right on. Thanks for watching!
I love watching this video. It's not the bending, it's the time you take to explain and demonstrate. Thank you.
Your videos are great. 6 years ago I watched your first video and bought one of these benders. That tube bender is a game changer in my opinion. Thanks for all the videos that followed your first one.
just wanted to say that your tube bender series on basics was awsome! keep up the great work and your commentary is very easy to follow.. best video I have seen yet! thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Extremely well explained. Love the JD2 bender. I definitely have a dedicated wrench for the bender, hanging on the bender. No extra steps.
Thank you for taking the time to post your great videos. Very well done and informative. I am a total newb when it comes to bending tubing. I have decent fab skills. After watching 3 of your videos (parts 1,2 and 3) which I not only enjoyed but also learned from I feel I can tackle some tube fenders for my Jeep. Now I'm off to shop for a JD bender :) Thanks again.
The best bend info on UA-cam! Thanks for posting this, I now think I could try this out.
Thanks! Good luck!
thanks for taking the time (and money)to share your awesome knowledge. just got done watching parts 1 and 2. excellent work man! you are talented.
Thanks for watching!
I'm impressed with how well you articulate these processes on a subject that is generally difficult to describe. Really good channel!
+Michael Murray Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I've learned so much!
Great video series on bending, definitely wish I had watched this before getting into bending! learned a few new tricks, and some things I hadn't thought of, thank you.
+pascal a Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Not sure I'm gonna do my own cage yet but definatly gonna get the bender and start working with it. It's awesome you make videos like this to help people
great little series on bending tubing. extremely informative. gives me confidence to get out start bending.....thanks for taking the time to post this.
Get to it! Thanks for watching!
About to undertake my journey with tube bending and I'm very glad to have found your channel. Thank you for helping us learn this skill set 👍🏻
You're welcome. Good luck on the project!
Dude--Great stuff. No wasted words; nothing unnecessary to wade through. Big Thanx!
Not only is the best explained video I have ever watched. Very very good. Complicated concepts but so well explained. Thank you so much
This bending series is really helpful! I bend a lot of electrical conduit. While the principles are similar, I'm finding that your methods can be more accurate when making complex bends, compared to "standard" trade-school methods. Thanks for the help!
Great content and i love the way you zero out the tube plane with the protractor! putting people on game!
I work in a shop that does elaborate tube bending on a daily basis and I must confess you do impressive work! Thanks for sharing. Jim.
+workwillfreeyou Thank you, Jim!
Thank you for putting up these videos, very educational. Appreciate the effort you put in.
Great videos you make it look easy and listen to your detailed explanations makes it easy to follow.great job!
So sick dude, very thankful for all you fabricators that take the time out to make videos and teach people how to do things like this
Thanks for watching!
You have a superb ability to pass knowledge to another person. Great videos.
Thanks, I'm heading for the garage.
Right on. Thanks for watching!
I enjoy your videos. I like the fact you do not talk down at people instead you actually want to help people learn. I don’t really need any bending done I just enjoy watching
I worked at a UTV shop for a few years bending tube programs that bendtech spat out, but it always bothered me that i didn't know how to do it by hand. This was very satisfying to watch.
Bro I was just looking for a way to put a little bend in my exhaust so my Flowmaster super 10 didn't rattle the chassis. But I stumbled across ur 2 bending 101 vids, I have to say first of all the way you pass along your knowledge without excessive jabber if phenomenal. Secondly after I've watched just these two videos I feel as though I have attended at least one semester of classes in tube bending 101.!! Keep on doing what you LOVE, and it won't ever be considered WORK!!! KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!!! THANKS FOR YOUR HOUR OF POWER! LOL!
Very concise and to the point, no BS rambling, love your work, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great instructions in 28 minutes.
Very well done vid along with part one.
Great videos as always! It was fun to watch a few of your early videos. Very talented
In two hours on your channel I learn more than in a year education in germany. It is all explained very well and now I also know how I can use my tube bender optimally. Thank you very much for your video work. The best i ever saw.
Thanks for watching!
This is possibly the most helpful video I have ever watched.. I have always wanted to be able to build a roll cage and other off road necessities but bending and notching tubes I couldn't wrap my head around and now I feel like I could give it a shot
Thank you!
Quick knowledge and a lot of practice will get you going. If you want to know how to build a roll cage I have a 3 hour video that details all of it. Let me know how it works out!
These are defiantly the best videos I've seen teaching how to bend tubing, hell of a job man!!
+davidsims2442 Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Love your work, thanks for taking time to share your knowledge and skills!!!!
God bless you richly

Excellent teaching! Once again we learned a lot.
Really helpful demo on the whole process, thanks for the upload
Not at all the same field of work but this was exactly the information I needed for bending the tubing for the cooling loop I'm putting together for a computer.
Excellent how to! Some of the best vids I've seen. I appreciate the effort you put in to explaining everything. awesome
Thanks for watching!
I've learned 15 new trades for free since UA-cam - thanks, man!!

You are awesome. Your videos were the first I ever watched on bending 🙌
Awesome explanations! Really enjoy your videos and your craftsmanship! Keep up the great work!
+John McDonnell Thank you!
I feel like I could build my own exo cage now.. however I know it would take me all day just to make the 1st two tubes. Great videos thanks, for posting these.
This is a great series of videos. I have learn so much. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Very good tutorial! I am beginning to understand this process. A bit of complexity , but your tutorial breaks it down quite nicely. Now to go practice bending to lock in these principles.
Can't wait now to get a bender and start making some things on my off road project.
Thank you for the great instructional video... lots of great tips and tricks.
Excellent video's mate, I have been wondering about stepping into the tube fabrication/bending side of things and after watching all your various videos I took the plunge today and brought a JD2 model 32 bender and some dies and a JD2 notch master as I had the cash spare. looking forward to more of your videos, thanks Marc UK
+KINZY1 Congrats on the purchase! I'm glad the vids gave you the will to have a go at it. Good luck!
Yeah, me too. These will be permanently in my reference library! This guy makes learning interesting, Thanks JD

32 year heavy duty mechanic/welder/fabricator and builder of heavy duty specialty trucks and heavy duty wreckers. But I had decided to start building fun projects of My own using tube so I checked this out. And thank God I did. I was ready to buy a "PIPE" bender which they called a "tube bender" but Your knowledge just saved Me a headache and disappointment. I have subscribed and look forward to learning a lot.
Right on. Thanks for the sub!
Very good info! I have the exact same bender, but recently stepped up my game to the Model 54 and bought BendTech software for designing in the computer. I'm very happy with both.
+Beach N Wheelchairs Right on! I've stuck the the Model 3 over the years even after having many opportunities to upgrade. Something about the simplicity really keeps it bolted to my floor. Thanks for watching!
+The Fabricator you definitely have it down pat man. great videos, and you are a great teacher! !
Beach N Wheelchairs Thank you!
Excellent work and with music out side of the teaching experience which I prefer. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟for communication, skill, ability, to walk the beginner threw the whole treatise.
Really like the info here. Presented really well.
+LD9user Thank you!
Definitely subscribed... I learned more by watching this video than i knew before.. so easily explained. thanks for taking the time to show your skills..
Right on. Thanks for the sub!

+Hafiz Mahmood No problem. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for the video. I have learned a lot.
That was a awesome video. Great job!!
Great videos! Great explanations!. I used to do it that way, but when I started getting busy in the shop, I bought a software program called Bend-Tech. Great program, easy to use. Does all the calculations for you. But for beginners, I think your videos are great. It gives the beginner the insight of what's happening.
great vid man, sorted all the probs for my camp bed project!
Thank you! Your videos have given me another level of confidence! Thank you )))
i really appreciate your talent that you share
This is a very good video. You are a very good presenter.
Outstanding my brother

This video is PURE GOLD -- THANKS!!!
+Hammerhaus Kennel You're welcome. Glad you found it.
Best explanation I have seen on UA-cam! I'm going to go bend myseslf some cheater tubes right now.
+Naegling Thanks!
You've got a new subscriber!I've been looking all over and by chance found your site You have done a great job in presentation and educating . You just made my day easier. Thanks for doing this!!Best.
+wiredodger60 Awesome! Thanks for the sub!
Awesome basic bending vid. since I've been following you for a while now, I've picked up on most of the things you talk about. Although, for someone just starting, I see this being a very good learning tool. As always, keep up the good work and ill be waiting for the next vid.... (DIY Intercooler??) ;)
Thanks!
The intercooler vid will be coming up soon. I had to push it back for Tube Bending Basics.
You are very very much a professional, great 👍
it's great to watch what u do and tell what tools to used but I would like to no where you got the angle pro tractor from
Excellent video, thank you
Thanks what a guy giving information with passion
Thanks!
Great explanations. Thanks.
Great set of videos, I've learned a lot!! Your explanation is excellent! Working within a boundary is based on the centerline of the tube right? Is that tubing appropriate for an exhaust and how would you make tighter turns? I need to make a custom exhaust for my vintage beetle to add a catalytic converter and it needs to be tight and compact. Thanks Bro!!
That’s awesome work.
Thank you for the content! :)
I think of Bender the robot and it's impressive how much stuff he should have known to actually be a bender and he manages to do all the measurements and stuff while on booze. I think I will never reach his heights. I mean, in bending of course.
Thanks for sharing, very informative.
Thanks for watching!
you need to tack weld a little peg on the bender post to hang that crescent wrench on! lol Wish these videos had been around about 5 years ago, when I had to bend all this SS tubing for a specialty fire protection system. Had never bent tubing prior to that, and your explanations would have saved a lot of miss-bent tubing!! Nice video, great explanations!!!
+Fred Newman Thanks!
Funny story - I did have a peg on the bender stand for a little bit, but I was always running around looking for the wrench when it was hanging on the peg. I ended up losing so much time looking for it because I kept forgetting that I hung it up on the peg.
+The Fabricator hey I was wondering if you would be selling cut and measured tubes? If so how much would you charge for them?
A+ instructor, well done!
Thanks!
