This video just shows that you don't need Pro V1s and a $3000+ fitted set to play good golf. Love to see it! Buying the irons and driver as soon as they drop down here in Australia, have had the wedges in bag for awhile and love them.
All about the person swinging the clubs. Top golfers can get a few shots out of the perfectly fitted clubs but for us normal folks we don't need the fancy bling clubs.
I collect clubs as a hobby, and have high end modern clubs but mainly vintage hogan, Wilson, Macgregor and few others. I can say that my vintage irons due give up some distance, but the feel is as good or better than new sets. You can purchase a Hogans or whatever for $50-$200 and have an incredible set of irons. Drivers and 3 woods don’t compare to modern, but still fun to hit.
Great video and really nice quality on all the Kirkland clubs. Best part is your genuine enthusiasm for the game…really comes through. Just Subscribed to your channel…Keep up the great content!
That feeling/smile at 23:12. That's why we spend the time and money playing, at its simplest it's hitting a ball with a stick. But to us that play it's so so much more.
I absolutely LOVE your enthusiasm for the game. Wanted to update you. I played my first round with my new Stix set and all in all as a super high handicapper I really like them. The struggles are more with my swing but the good contact shots were GOOD and felt good as well. More 3 putts than usual but that is due to trying to get used to the weight of the putter in the set which is GREAT in my newbie opinion. Blade to mallet is definitely a change was definitely getting it figured through the back 9. This update is due to your outstanding honest reviews on this channel. Can't wait to see what you have for us in the coming year
I enjoyed watching you play using the Costco clubs. You did a great job of playing and giving us your thoughts and insights. I already use the Kirkland putter and love it. Great video!
After watching three of your videos on Kirkland equipment, and how you honestly talk about its pros and cons, I have decided that subscribing to your videos are well worth the time to watch.
I love everything Costco, but as a senior+ golfer, the irons although beautiful, would be challenging for me to hit. But I can certainly game the driver with R shaft.
Culmination of 2 plus years of work! Your best video yet.Instead of years of "Club- Chasing", I wish I had gone to Costco years ago. Thanks for working for the high -handicapper and finding low budget, high value clubs.
Man this is a nice Christmas present to see this bag finally come together. Got back into golf from watching you with the Edge set, and now to see what all they have!
Great golfing Gabe!! Pretty spectacular with the whole set (minus fairway+ hybrids) plus the balls from Kirkland. This episode looked like you had the most fun too. You'll get to 70k soon. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I still have my Kirkland KS1 signature putter and swap it out for my Scotty Cameron Newport cuz they are so similar! Very impressive irons wedges and driver! This should be the most watched review of 2023 end of season!! Thanks Gabe and Merry Christmas!🎅 🐊🏌⛳️🦅🇺🇸
Can you compare the KSig neon yellow with the KSig white version 3 on the simulator. When cut open, the insides appear to be different, wondering if any difference in performance off irons and driver between the two balls.
The KS1 putter is great! Had it in the bag for a couple years new (how ever long it’s been out). Will probably give the driver a shot once I am back in the market.
I am most interested in the driver - seems very Titleist-like to me! The irons really look nice, and of course the Costco return policy makes all of these worth trying. Biggest problem is none of these clubs are readily avaialalbe - seem to be sold-out most of the time even on the wedges and putters that have been out for a long time.
Fabulous video Gabe! I was excited to watch this and the outcome was exactly as I anticipated. You could seriously game these clubs yourself and I’m sure after about a dozen rounds you could probably play as good with these as you would with anything. Costco is a true blessing! No players of many levels have an opportunity to get elite equipment at extremely reasonable prices and enjoy the game and have money for other things. Thank you for this video
Your golf nerdome is a win for us youtube viewers. I'm going in on these irons. My XTD Tour A's are now 10 years old. My issue is that I still swing it fast enough to be a single digit, but I'm now in my 60's. I know these days are limited, but I do want to try the new tech out there, but 1400 for a set I might not be swinging fast enough in a few years would never happen. Good stuff.
I subscribed because of this review. Honest and realistic. I've played Costco balls for years. Gen 1 4 piece incredible. Gen 2 4 piece great ball but cover issues, bout time I heard the reports of cover issues I had an unrequited refund on the 2 boxes id purchased, heck ida not returned them any way. I play I tight desert course, take a drop and move on, I've got no interest in finding Mr Snake looking for a golf ball no matter what it cost. Gen 1 3 piece, gummy soft, no distance lost of irons, driver ehh maybe more than likely my swing. Gen 2 3 piece great ball regardless of price . Wedges regripped with Tour Wrap midsize my self and in the bag. Costco has good stuff at a regular guys pocket book value.
As I’ve said before I love the Kirkland equipment test videos. I have used the ball for some time now. Thanks to Gabe’s most recent giveaway, I will now be playing the Kirkland Driver. I will be using that draw setting for sure.👍👍
Wonderful video. I have been a subscriber for about a year, and really enjoy your enthusiasm, insight, and ability to relate (to “regular” golfers like me). I am looking forward to putting together a mixed set of Kirkland Signature Driver, Kirkland Signature Irons, Wilson Staff Wedges, and Wilson Staff Putter. The Gap wedge will be 50 degrees, to better manage that in-between distance. This video (and several of your other videos about Kirkland Signature golf equipment) have really provided me with great insight and direction. Play thru … Mr Gabe!
Oh, I was rooting for you to birdie the last hole and go 1 under. I hope you played the back 9 and had a great back 9. Keep up the good work and fun videos, please.
Have a look at the benross br pro 001 putter, same kinda thing (forged blade, milled face) but the benross comes with the different weights for the bottom and a wrench
Very exciting video. To bad you didn't make that last putt. Those clubs seem like they can go against any set. That a deal. I'll have to keep an eye out for the putter. Thanks for the video.
Gabe, I had commented in the intro video that you always get more performance out of the clubs when on the course vs the simulator and this was the confirmation. You didn’t even notice that the shafts were heavier than what you have now playing in your gamers did you? 😂 Fantastic video once again!! Thank you.
@@LetsPlayThru and you called it when it comes to the gap being 52 degrees. Spot on so B you forced a couple of shots to get the distance. Otherwise you ready ma man!!! Now, wouldn’t it be an insult if you did an Edel vs Kirk?
Awesome video!! A very entertaining and thorough review, and really great play. I felt your stoke right along with you on some of those great shots and putts, especially that back door drop for birdie on the par 3, 8th. I got a couple questions. I know even with all the big dog clubs (off the shelf with everything standard) the lofts and lies rarely measure to the exact manufactures stated specs. 1) Did you check the lofts and lies? 2) Adjust anything to fit your game or is everything straight from Costco to the Course? You really have me curious about these clubs. It’s refreshing to see great clubs that are affordable. I feel this incredible game needs to get away from “only for the elite” and be more available to our children. I truly believe golf instills character like integrity, respect, patience, drive to never give up, even team work. More so than all the affordable sports our kids can get into today put together. Characteristics, in my opinion, are lacking in today’s society. I could go to even argue golf should be a part of public school curricular……That might be much, but I hope that helps my point. Again, awesome video all around, Bravo!! 👏
Thank you for the kind words. I didn’t check the lofts. I just played them right out of the box. But I think it would be a good idea to take a look at them. And BTW, Agree with you that golf is a great sport for kids.
Great vid Gabe and congrats to Costco for bringing a more affordable and quality option for us mere mortals. The oems will only fear is that the any upgrade to the Kirkland label may eliminate the only weakness they clubs may appear to have. Would love to see the spin numbers with a 12 degree driver setting and is the adjuster on the shaft compatible with any other companies. 5 stars Gabe 👍
I've never tried any of the clubs, but I'm not a fan of the ball as it spins too much for my swing speed, but the gloves are actually really good. I'd say they are comparable to a Titleist Perma Soft and way less money.
While I have played the Kirkland 3 pice golf ball since they came out just have never been able find the wedges, putter, and driver. We’ll continue to watch for them though as a senior with a slow swing speed not sure the driver and irons will work for me. Keep up the great videos
Great stuff Gabe. Perhaps Costco released these irons late in the year because they have a game improvement iron set to release early in 2024. Thanks for all the videos you released this year. Merry Christmas!
I’m pretty sure they decided to release a players irons vs game improvement irons because they have a whole set of Callaway edges for beginners. They entice the beginners with the brand name of Callaway (growing the game). But it’s the more experienced golfer that knows how good Kirkland golf produce are. Therefore catering to a broad spectrum of golfers.
Great video Gabe. The quality of the product will never be in doubt. The only weakness is the Costco brand. In a sport where image seems to be everything the"label" may let it down.I already play the putter and the wedges. It will be interesting to see what happens when you can get a full bag.
I've been playing with the Kirkland wedges for awhile now and have never had anyone comment on them at all, don't think most people care that much about other people's club... let the scores talk
I think that is a real issue with the Kirklands. If you are running a 14 club set you have to toss in a 48-50 degree and either pull out the 52 or lose another club from the bag. I actually bought a set of the new irons since my SM8s were getting on a bit and I really didn't want to break down and buy three new wedges at 160-180 bucks each. I ended up keeping the SM8-50 degree in the bag because the difference between my PW (P-790s) was too much and there was a real gap in the 100 yard range. I just broke down and am now replacing my Vokeys and took the Costcos back because changing out the 52 to 50 left another gap in that 75-80 yard range. I'm not a big hitter. I suppose I could have had them bent but that seemed a bit extreme for value wedges.
I see Costco puts a hybrid in the bag instead of a 5 Wood, I guess things have changed since I bought my first in the clubs. I used to get a driver, three wood and a five wood only
Costco also carries from time to time Honma clubs. I saw your Honma irons video, and finally the TW 747 driver was available. Picked it up for $249 CAD, and Golftown was selling a demo for $499. Crazy!
Would love to play a round with you Gabe if you ever made it up here to NY we’re spoiled with the public courses out here in the suburbs of NYC (look up Patriot Hills and Mansion Ridge) I had the putter and wedges all great still have the 60 in my bag
What a fun round of 9 holes to follow along with you. I have a full Kirkland bag also (besides my wood & hybrid). I love everything except the driver (my Callaway is longer and more forgiving), but I’ve committed to continue with the setup until June 2025. Your videos are awesome.
Have you considered trying the new Bombtech line. The 4.0’s… I am wanting to buy them. But haven’t seen a ton of reviews one them. Hope you’re having a good day.
I bought the wedges and had them bent to 50,54,58 & 2* flat. They bent easy and were easy to change. Don’t rule out changing them and putting them in the bag.
If Costco continues to release golf products and assuming they have fairway woods/hybrids and a bag in the works... I wonder if they will ever sell a full club set with the bag and offer a discount for the bundle on top of the already competitive pricing.
