Been playing my whole life and between 6-8 hcp. Fresh out of college and broke and needed some new wedges. Took a gamble on Kirkland and blown me away. Whole set cost as much as one vokey wedge and well worth it.
Having some actual grind to the back of the soles while still being wider and higher bounces is massive for allowing players to save money and still have some good versatility!
Dan Grieve has done some great work with your short game! Technique looks great, it would be cool to get an update on where you are at with his coaching!
Bought the Gen 1 wedges 18 months ago and they work a treat. Feel, spin and workability is brilliant, matched with a £150 price tag making them such good value.
Mine have just arrived today, been to the range to test them. Super impressed, huge thanks to Rick for this review, I wouldn't have known they existed without this!!
I so appreciate that you have put this series out!! The main takeaway for me is that for much of the clubs on the market is the old adage that it has a lot to do with the player and not the club. However, I’d be lying if I didn’t acknowledge that many of the top manufacturers have higher quality materials and much more science and engineering in their products than Kirkland may have at their disposal. Great video and great content!! Thank you sir!
I would agree but are people buying based on performance or to show off their fancy toy? if it was performance "science" then the price doesn't match...
Bought some of the old ones last year or so. Took to the driving range immediately and first swing with the 56° I hit the centre of the 100m sign I was aiming it. Approved!
I purchased these as the first clubs in my bag and OMG. I couldn't be more happy. I'm enjoying them MORE and MORE. Such a great price, they look great, feel great. I've tried other more PREMIUM brands, they feel the exact same.
I have been playing the Kirkland wedges for over two years and love them. I used to use a 54 degree Callaway around the green but the 56 Kirkland is now my go to wedge. I rarely miss a green with these wedges. If you are in the market for wedges these are absolutely worth a strong look. I don't think I will be buying the new ones as the ones I have are excellent.
I adore my Gen 1, got them as a Christmas present last year and won't look anywhere else. Genuinely bring me so much joy, so great job from Costco/Kirkland Signature. And good on Rick, as I wouldn't have known anything about them if he hadn't tested them
Hey Rick - loving the channel, new to golf here. I have an idea for a game format for you - 2 v 2, matchplay for 9 holes. One team is a Tour Pro and a Scratch Golfer. The other Team is a Scratch Golfer and a high handicap amateur, HOWEVER the tour pro and the HH amateur can only take one shot per hole, strategically chosen as your play through!
I have said it before but I think Kirkland stuff is the best value on the market. And it's mainly because they don't do fittings, sponsor pros, have buses that travel with the pros, or gove away thousands of sets for reviews.. and all the other expenses the big named brands have. Those expenses are related in the prices we pay for the top brand stuff, they have to recoup all that expense and mark up their pirces
@ChiefCowpie I saw an article by someone a while ago, called golf spy, or my golf spy. I can't remember. I have no idea how accurate they were and sure its now out of date, but. They broke down the cost of a $500 driver into its raw materials and manufacturing. it worked out to around $100 total. This didn't account for carbon fibre additions, shipping, advertising or anything else. Just the cost of the processed raw materials, everything from head to grip, and how much the actual $500 dollar driver in question would have cost to make. Retail outlets would then pay a mark up to the manufacturer, which they then mark up again to sell to us.
I've just stumbled across a package set I'd love to see reviewed, from B&Q of all places! It's called: Costway Mens 9 PCS Complete Golf Club Set Includes 460cc Alloy Driver Right Handed
You make the best reviews on irons and clubs because you always address all of the questions we have as viewers whether or not the clubs are good purchases or not. The way you chipped in every kind of situation and also compared them to the older model was absolutely perfect of a review. I think you should start doing more putter reviews on real grass as well. Gives better feedback and accuracy.
I love how costco has come to the golf game and shown the big brands that good clubs shouldn't cost an arm and a leg!! My only concern is how well they last? I don't know how you'd test that though
I bought these Wedges a few months ago, been very happy with them so far. They have held up very well and they are easy to clean and they wont scratch. I guess we will see in 5 years but so far they are pretty good
You should test out maltby TSW forged wedges. They are even more of a bargain than these at 45 with basics shafts but you can also upgrade shafts for not much more if you feel inclined and also have the lengths adjusted for free. An absolute value proposition.
There's my new wedges right there! I came across the original Kirkland wedges kinda by accident on the hunt for new wedges years ago, they've been in my bag since but I was gonna get them regripped and I feel the grooves have deteriorated slightly so a no brainer to buy these! Unreal value
I really enjoy my old version Costco wedges but I must admit the new lettering is really nice as the one negative on my current wedges after two years is that finding the numbers are somewhat hard to differentiate in my bag. Old eyes and all.
I have the gen 1's, only thing I didn't like was the grip feels so thin. Upgraded them to some thicker ones and love these. I may get these and give them a go
I have played with these for one round. What I think is if you don’t have or want to spend a lot of money on wedges there is absolutely no reason not to play with these. They are amazing wedges. Golfers know Kirkland makes great clubs and aren’t gimmicks. If you are worried what people will think when seeing them in your bag don’t be. There new irons are fantastic. Haven’t died the driver yet but on videos it looks cool. It’s just nice to know you can save money and not worry about out quality.
I bought the first version clubs 2 years ago, and my set of 3, are some of my favorite clubs in my bag now to be honest. They feel great, and are very comparable to premier clubs
My only big complaint about the gen 1 was the lack of sole relief when you try to open the face on the lob wedge. The leading edge sat way too high, and instantly made me think I'm going to blade it. This 60 looks quite a bit better. Well done Kirkland!
Its good to see that companies can put out wedges at lower prices without losing performance, i play taylor made mill grind and have gone down to 2 wedges a 54 and 58 as the cost of them are insane, I took my set into gap then just buy 2 as the mg are £189 each if i can get a deal. Replacing them once or sometimes even twice a year adds up. I will consider these in the future as i can get 3 wedges for cheaper than 1 i already looked at lazarus but they are non conforming a lot of people have told me so i never bothered.
Watched the qualifying round. I am convinced that you would greatly benefit from a sports therapist and work on positive thought exercises. Your putting is much improved. Chipping still needs a bit of retooling. Im rooting for you man. I am confident that you can achieve it. ✨️
Honestly I played with a gent last summer and the guy was amazing. A pure ball striker. He was using what had to be 15 year old Pings. He was talking about getting a new set eventually. Not sure what it would do for his game though. Maybe add a few yards? Doesn’t need it. We put way too much emphasis on the clubs and not the technique.
Thanks Rick. I want to start playing golf but its expensive even at that price to get started nevermind the season fee for a public course but I'll keep grinding. Thanks for the motivation.

I bought the gen 1s as soon as they came out. Small complaints: -the sole definitely needed some grinding to allow more versatility and play of bounce. I’m glad Gen 2 has addressed this. -the grip looked misaligned so I’m hoping they fixed that too Will I buy this? Seeing how my gen 1 clubs are now 4 years old, and they now have grinded soles, probably yes.
Have you reviewed the Wilson Harmonized wedges yet? Even less expensive than the Kirkland. Amazon has the list price at $60 USD but the are ALWAYS on sale for $30-$40 USD. As a budget conscious high handicaper, I find the Harmonized wedges very servicable.
I think wedges and maybe some new woods are the last thing my bag needs at this time. I am certainly not opposed to Kirkland wedges. Rick, perhaps do a full head-to-head between the two gens of Kirkland?
I've been using the V2's in my bag for a while now, and I gotta say: they feel and perform as good as my old vokey's did. Saved over $300 not having to buy new wedges.
I liked the previous Costco wedges, but still thought they could look better. But these new ones are gorgeous, I’d black out the red 👌🏼 I wonder if you could blast them to a raw finish 👀
I’m more convinced these are produced by Callaway… the driver resembles the old Callaway Optiforce driver, had the same shaft as the original Callaway Mavrik retail driver as well. Kirkland golf clubs prove time and time again that it’s not always the technology, but the story that you pay for. Performance, feel, looks, etc all come down to preference. But at the end of the day paying 600 dollars or 200 dollars on a new driver won’t make you play any better😂 might have to consider Kirkland irons for my new set. Looking to upgrade soon
