You should be totally sure about which you prefer in terms of beauty and design. The new one seems like a bad joke next to that 2020 beauty, it looks like a care bade out of legos.
F87 M2's are so special a used 2019/20 is practically the same price as when it was new. crazy!
I really enjoy and respect your honest reviews from a design background and as an enthusiast. The F87 M2 Comp is the last true driver's car BMW has made with almost an analog like feeling. No crazy big screen or big heads up display. Just pure driving enjoyment. I really wanted a 2021 F87 M2 Comp, but ended up going with the 2023 A91 Supra 6MT you recently reviewed. I wish I had more space to own both. The F87 is already a classic.
I’ve owned one of these since Sept 2021. I’ve test driven the new M2 and the F87 is the better car for me. Lighter, less powerful but has more character and fun. Much better looking also 😊

I still can't believe they replaced this cockpit with the new gigantic screen. It really seems like there could have been some midpoint between upgrading the old fashioned cockpit in the 2020 with the new high tech 2023 design. Even a cowl could have made a huge difference.

There was a mid point. It's idrive 7. It was in M240i/M340i/M440i. M2 didn't get it because it came out after idrive 8 became the new norm.
Analog gauges are gold. First thing I'm doing is relocating that 'infotainment' screen to somewhere I never have to look at it, maybe in the center console or glove box. Or better yet, the bottom of a dumpster.
BMW should have used this car for the 3.0 CSL Hommage instead...
So much more fitting - a smaller lightweight 3 box, rather than a big heavy fastback

Old M2 🔥
Due to limited finances, I've always been one of those guys that bought a car just below the top spec (eg I bought a 1997 Golf GTi when really I wanted the VR6, then bought an E46 330 Sport just as it was replaced with the new 3 Series, or the 2018 M240i I bought when really I wanted the M2C). And then something unusual happened - the G87 M2 came out and juat for once, I preferred the outgoing M2C.
Such a beautiful car. Classic classy BMW design, the last 2 series coupe with twin halo lamps and round dials with needles. Just amazing, and even more so now that the new G87 is out - it looks like an American muscle car - and there's no going back. Usually it takes 20 years for a car to go classic and go up in price, such as the E46 M3......but we're in uncharted territory now......I can't help but think that the M2C will become quickly sort after when the enthusiasts realise just how special this car is - that is, the last of its kind - because no worthy succesor will ever follow in its footsteps. This is exactly why after finally being able to afford one, I recently hunted down a fully loaded M2C with just 7,500 miles in Hockenheim Silver and absolutely immaculate and was straight on the phone to the dealership (before they'd even uploaded photos) and slapped a deposit on it!
As far as I'm concerned, the F87 M2C is the perfect M Coupe, the best looking car BMW has ever produced, and I can't believe I own one. My only regret is I can't afford to buy 2 of them!

There is no parking assist button. Perhaps you meant steering?
I really liked your review. Especially your exterior assessment pointing out portion related items like the front windscreen line meeting the front axel and rear hofmeister kinks relation to the rear axel. I had not noticed that before.
I think he was referring to the button for the front parking sensors.
245F/265R is staggered (vs square), but I know what you mean. 19s all around instead of larger diameter rears like on some new cars.

Id shrink the headlights and taillights in scale to create width and a lower stance .
I prefer the new M2 side profile, back and wheels. The front and the interior of the previous model are better looking. The previous M2, its first designed five-spoke wheels, were better looking than the competition's ones imo.
Those wide fenders do really look sexy and aggressive
no way the back of the new M2 looks better than the previous gen. No offense to ppl who like the new M2 but the whole new M2 is FUGLY imo

It took Throttle House, TheStraightPipes, etc years of contant, relentless reviews to build their audience. Rome wants built in a day. The different is this channel covers design cues and language. The others are just journalists or youtuber people with graphic design background.
