I've had several Brownings, none came in a cardboard box. I have never had wood splitting either. I did have a problem with the tightness of the fit on opening of my Cynergy Composite but that eased with time. I like Browning very much and cannot see me being seduced by another make. Time will tell.
I had a Cynergy when they first came out. It wasn't a bad gun but I never got along with it. Had a lot of misfire issues as well. Browning took care of it but it went down the road. The Beretta 68x series has really worked well for me. I still like Browning's but the Beretta's suit me better.
Just saw your review. My cynergy has a case and have never had a problem with it.The quality isn't as good as my MX8 but I love the gun for skeet and sporting clays.
That's how they get you to pay $300 for the browning fitted takedown case. I just bought a Citori XT Trap not too long ago and had the same complaint. My Bennelli Super Sport I paid almost 1/2 as much for and came in a nice hard takedown case.
I even had issues with ordering the hard fitted case, the black and tan is on back order for eight months and the people at browning couldn't even give me a serial number to figure out which one I needed exactly. They didnt even specify about the Invector + chokes, ordered the 32 inch case for the 32 inch Cynergy and it only fits if I take the chokes out. Poor communication on Brownings behalf, overall I would choose my old Berettas hands down everytime.
How is it now that more time is passed I want another shotgun like the look of the Cynergy no one within 200 miles has one I can shoulder to see if I can like this one or not
there really is no excuse for that gun to come without a case. maybe it's silly, but it's important. I really like the cynergy, maybe one day i'll get one, would like to get a target gun soon.
Don’t hit the gun with a hammer! That’s why it split! All you had to do was squeeze the forearm tight to the barrel with one hand and the push the lever into place. It was hard to close the lever because you didn’t squeeze at the same time. You cracked your wood, your fault. Browning doesn’t owe you anything!
I have had a few O/U Brownings and there quality is slipping. What you don't know about this gun is it went back to Browning for refitting prior to me getting the gun, that is why it took so long. I found this out when I shipped the gun back. It was sanded down to fit better but that did nothing. Even with the forend level the lever would NOT go down. No matter how hard anybody tried it would not close. All my others did not do this.
I have a love hate relationship with this gun. It shoots really well and is comfortable but on the other hand I have had issues with the wood splitting, Browning taking forever to repair it, and having it splits again within five minutes of use. The action is really stiff but that should smooth out over time, other gun companies produce o/u that are smooth out of the box for less. I really don't think this gun is worth four thousand never mind the twenty five hundred I paid for it new.
The laws are a bit different here in Australia, so excuse the stupid question I'm about to ask. When a US citizen purchases a firearm online, is it delivered to your door ? Or do you have to order it online and get it sent to your local authorised firearm dealer and pick it up there ?
I am Canadian, unfortunately I am not too familiar with US gun laws. Here in Canada any firearm can be shipped right to your door. Makes my life easy, plus their is no more long rifle registration here, only a valid firearms license is required to purchase one. Sorry I could not have been of more help.
I am kinda late, but in USA you have to have a ffl to have a weapon shipped directly to your house. If you don't you can have it shipped to the nearest gun shop.
I am thinking about getting one but how does yours shoot and I would sugest cynergy hard case for it I have XT now to heavy for me and have hard case for it best ever would sugest
+panfishing 101 I honestly could not tell you what it retails for now, regardless of the price, I would still guide you in a different direction than Browning.
Hunter Cormier Sail Outdoor, they could not do much for me with this because the production of this gun isn't as high as others Browning produces. Had to go back through Browning.
It got to the point of being ridiculous for how long I waited and how many issues this gun had. I just had to force it and it split. So I sent it back again and browning said they would fix the forend cracks and when new wood came in they would send me a whole new forend. Months has gone by, the repairs split again even without force and I have no word on the new wood. This is the end for Browning for me. I regret selling my Berettas for a more expensive gun that had too many flaws. No case
Yeah, we get it! You favor your Beretta's! You can't beat 500 yrs of making quality guns! So why did you not just get your money back or get a different gun! I'll never buy a Browning after seeing this! Beretta Silver Pigeon 1 Sporting or a Winchester 101 Pigeon Trap!

That is because your hitting it with a mallet! U think it's not going to if it doesn't fit smoothly then not hit it.

Very nice gun though. Toying with the idea of trading my Bennelli for a cynergy.
