Browning 725 !!!! They are not as well built as the older models! I know of lot’s of problems with them , the gunsmith I use told me to steer clear and he has 50 plus years in the trade , what he says is good enough for me

Some of us have hearing problems. It would be sooo helpful to either have some words on the screen or to have models that you mentioned, listed in the dooblydoo. You might be able to update it without resubmitting the video.
I don’t know if it’s much cheaper version of the Beretta A400 Multi-Target, but the Fabarm XLR5 Velocity AR. Also compared to the USA version Browning 725 Pro Sporting, again Fabarm ELOS N2 Allsport XL. For Beretta, the cheaper version or the DT or CG Invictus would be the 694. Yes there’s no upper locking bolt as the DT guns but it’s feel and handle great, and it’s fully rebuild able. I’m not a fan of Benelli, but there cheaper version is the Franchi Affinity 3 Sporting.
Now there is cheaper alternatives to a Benelli. The Weatherby Element and I believe the CZ 1012 are inertia driven clones of the Benelli Montefeltro. They are Turkish made with less quality materials but the designs look almost identical. There is no substitute for a Benelli but these are great cheaper options for beginner shooters who aren't ready to spend the money for Italian made semi-auto shotguns.
Glad to hear that my two shotguns are still in your top 10 list. CG Invictus and A400 Black (OK, not the multi-target). I’ve just got into rifle shooting, and would like to hear your comments on my new gun,. I chose a 2020 TIKKA Roughtech in 6.5 Creedmoor. I’ve yet to shoot it, ( still waiting for parts to mount a Steiner T5Xi scope).
I shoot a 27-in field grade Remington peerless, I smashed 49 out of 50 nearly every single time I go shoot a double round of trap. Barrel length does not matter. Self-control so you're not poking but swinging.

That was a lot of rapid-fire info! Makes me feel a lot more confident with my 725 S1. I'd say, buy a 525, a 725 or a 686 Silver Pigeon, AND invest the eight grand you just saved in tons of ammo! Then take classes and practise.... practise... practise.
I agree! I have 325 and 525 been great guns and I shot them so well. I’m not looking to buy something higher end just cause. DT11 calling me but I think I’ll just buy 694 to be honest.
I shoot a 112 yo Parker that FITS me well. I pull the trigger, the gun goes "bang" and the targets shatter. Price paid when I was a teen: $42. Importance of a guarantee? None. The gun has never needed repair. I have another that is 121 yo and also never been repaired. My advice: Shop for a durable used gun that FITS you well. You should never have to contort your body around the gun.

Are biodegradable clays used in the UK? Most US sporting clays and trap shooting courses are switching from traditional clay to biodegradable to clean up their fields. Many are also switching to lead free shot use to avoid costly lead remediation and the associated insurance costs.

After a decent experience i think any semi-auto will do the job of breaking clays and putting meat on the table. I have shot side-by-sides, over- unders, pump actions, single shots and semi-autos. If you are on the practical side rather than a show-off, go for a semi-auto with hundreds of choices from the cheapest turkish semi-autos to the benellis, and yes TGS you are right there are no cheap alternatives for a benelli, and benellis are the best inertia driven semi-auto shotguns !

Yildiz Pro looks nice; unfortunately they start at about $3000 on this side of the pond. But hey, I can get an SPZ-ME Special for $600 if I wanted to. Johnny, if you do the "Cheaper alternatives to Benelli" segment, I'll set aside half an hour and a couple of pints for the occasion. ;-)
I shoot trap every Friday or Thursday and I use a Caesar guerini and I have a Browning Citori plus and I also have the TriStar trap combo Deluxe and they all shoot great but these prices like on pirozzi they are outrageously ridiculous in price
I just beat a guy who was shooting a $4000 gun with my $200 pawn shop Winchester with a spray paint Camo finish. Expensive guns are more of a status symbol than anything. Just like the 70 year old man with the newest titleist irons playing golf. It doesn’t make him play a single bit better than just some decent clubs he is comfortable with
I shot on an industrial league with a 28" Laurona ( not well known in the states) fixed choke field gun. The gun fit and I did very well with it. Fit is what matters in shooting. With that said I do not care about status. I really like the looks of my 687EELLa my 687EL and my SV10. My 686 COVY QUAL dark blue with gold birds is great to look at. I do like Berettas and I like shotguns that are a work of art. The leather seats in my car does not give me better mileage, but I like the looks.
Yep. I was on a college trap and skeet team. Now I just shoot for fun. I out shot many of people with way more expensive guns with just my Mossberg 535. It's amazing how fast you can work a pump with some experience. Haha.
Skill and success is 95% the shooter. Engraving doesn't break targets. However, run 25,000 rounds through your pawn shop gun and it will be spitting out parts long before the expensive, quality gun. That's why they are expensive. Engraving seems to be more prevalent on expensive, quality guns. If a person is ever in the position to need to fire 45,000 rounds in a year. He better have a Krieghoff.
Bought my son a montefeltro sporting after his stoeger crapped out. Very nice shooting gun. I have actually thought of that be to replace my cheaper over under
I have the Montefeltro Sporting. Same 30" barrel as the Supersport. Exactly the same chokes. It cost me 1/2 the price of t he Supersport and I like the walnut stock.
I sold an "off brand" gun, a Breda 930I but when I was talking to dealers about part exing this gun I was told by one that they had no interest in it because it would sit on their shelf for ages and if it wasn't a Browning or Beretta then nobody would be interested! I know names like Longthorne, Holland and Holland etc aren't Browning or Beretta but people would be interested in them because they are £££££ and good guns. I was basically told to stick to Browning or Beretta for the money I was playing with (around 3k) my question is, is it worth taking a punt on a CG Invictus or should I stick to the main 2 brands hoping that resale will be better than a CG if and when I come to sell it?
The Yildiz feels like a plank of wood (pun intended) rather then the race gun perazzi it tries to copy. Perazzi's are expensive but the yildiz is very expensive for what it is. It's charging for the sake of charging i think. Then again thats most shotguns.
I have a TriStar TT-15 Sporting. It does just as well as my Browning 725 Sporting. Yes you can feel the difference in quality but it shoots just was well. But the TriStar is a nice budget friendly over under if you don’t want to spend over 1k+.
I wanted a 16 ga OU to shoot trap and did not want to spend a lot. I purchased a TriStar. Looks good for the money. Trigger pull sucks. One trigger 5 pounds 8 ounces the other 8 pounds 14 oz. Went back to my Savage 755A Auto.
I have a 690 black and am considering putting some money into the stock and trigger and wondering if you think it’s worth it? Adding a tsk stock on the 690 might be kind of ridiculous since it’s no dt11 haha
Beretta 682 gold E and the Dt10 were also awesome quality and extremely shootable and reliable truth be told there probably better quality than beretta’s current crop that costs silly money
So most of these have cheaper alternatives..... except the Beretta's, but for some of the others.. you could buy a Beretta!! and there was me thinking you were a Miroku fan boy!! ;)
Hey TGS....... Why don't you review the Franchi affinity....... I bought one after getting bored with u/o Or do you like benellis to much to do a side by side comparison 😉😉😉😉
@@BigBennyD I was going to buy a benelli m2 as I fell for the branding....... After handling an M2 and an affinity side by side I genuinely felt the affinity handled nicer and was exactly the same build quality as the benelli (don't care what anyone else says) after that there was just no way I could part with over twice the price on a gun just because of the name on it........ Especially when the Affinity is made by benelli anyway 😉😉👍🏻
An aramberri mach. It's a perazzi mt-6 clone. They were made in the 70s if I'm not mistaken. I've never used one myself but did seriously consider one before buying an mk38.
As an adult only went clay shooting for the first time the other day, we used a Miroku MK38 and I loved it. Might see if they have other loaners we can try when we go back just to see if a n00b can pick up any differences.
Love your videos! Your videos have helped me so much since I've started my clay shooting journey. Do you think the Beretta 694 is worth the 2k extra over the 686 Sp1 sporting?
Yep it's for the standard non-adjustable comb version. The one I'd get is the 32 inch version, I think the 30 inch would be the same price though. I don't need the adjustable stock as those dimensions fit me very well
Another good video Jonny, hanging out for a video of a new vs old..... a clay day with maybe a new miroku vs a bc miroku or old citori vs new 525.... food for thought 😋
I own an "old model" Remington 3200 26" barrel skeet gun with Briley tube set for 20,28 gauge and .410. I'm not good enough to do all it will do, because I'm not a AA shooter in all gauges. I don't think I would trade for a barrel set, as I have custom choke inserts for the 28 gauge and .410 tubes. A good skeet shooter with the 20 gauge tubes installed, might as well use the stock to break cases of skeet birds, as he/she will do that with the gun. What more do you need?
Cheaper is allways better unless you have a really good job spend your money on amo and as my friend said as he ran over his browning pity i didnt buy cheaper the last viedo you did with that side plate and your mate wasvthe best with tommy Cooper please say what gun that was and the price plesase man you 2 are such big heads i love it
People often forget that an expensive gun wont shoot any better than a cheap gun that fits the same. Find a quality firearm that fits good and dont worry anout whether its a spectical or not. Unless your a wealthy collector that is.
I would bet that theirs some Rem 1100 auto or 870 pump or Mossberg owners that can brake just as many clay targets as these high dollar gun shooters can and have a lot more money left in their pockets.
i had a 686 silver pigeon as a teaching gun over a 5 year period i put over 100.000 rounds through that gun and when i traded it in i got £30 more than i paid for it
If these Turkish gunsmith would be in the United States these Tristar shotguns for trap would be worth as much as the prophecies and the Blazers and the krakof the Kohler
We are told here in the USA that the UK is so anti-gun its actually a bit of a mind f- to see this. But mt two cents... I love my Franchi Instinct L. Came in at $1k US and runs every bit as good as my fathers Silver Pidgeon. Avoid the Stevens 555e, my wife bought one in 16g and its not a great gun even at its price point
We’re not really anti-gun at all as you may think. However to buy a gun is wayyy harder over here than in the US. I love guns myself but to get my license I had to wait months and the police need to get involved and everything to make sure you know what you’re doing.

@@tgsoutdoors Loved the video, and I laughed out loud when I heard the Benelli comment at the end. Don't know what service is like in the UK (USA is 7 year for Franchi and 10 year for Benelli, and literally gets sent to the same place) but the new Affinity 3 and Affinity 3 elite models are much better than the older ones. I have sold dozens without issue. One of them even went to a guy who comes out regularly to shoot clays with 4 family members and they all share the one gun, something I never recommend haha. Benelli's are definitely in a league of their own, but in terms of the M2 we have all but stopped selling them unless a special order, in favor of the franchi elites. There really is no alternative for the SBE, Supersport, 828U, etc... If they are available in the UK at a reasonable price (M.A.P. in US for Affinity 3 elite -> $1099. Guessing UK price is £999 MAP but I don't know), highly recommend getting one in your shop and checking it out! We still sell some Montefeltros, but the standard Franchi Affinity 3s at $750-900 do eat up a lot of the montefeltro's at $1000-1200. Same design with cheaper parts/harsher finishing, I suppose making it a cheaper alternative. Older Franchis could be hit or miss, but the new ones seem to be quite great.

Yildiz Pro looks nice; unfortunately they start at about $3000 on this side of the pond. But hey, I can get an SPZ-ME Special for $600 if I wanted to.
Johnny, if you do the "Cheaper alternatives to Benelli" segment, I'll set aside half an hour and a couple of pints for the occasion. ;-)
Franchi affinity is a great gun basically a Benelli super black eagle for a lot lesa
It doesn’t make him play a single bit better than just some decent clubs he is comfortable with
that's what i keep saying but no one listens. Engraving don't break clays
Alternative to Benelli Supersport... Benelli Montefeltro Sporting. Half the price, 99% the same gun!
I shot one. I'm considering that or a Franchi Affinity sporting vs the Supersport variants.
Jonny talking here as a true 'gunsmith' - all very interesting though - love my uncompetable (is that really a word?) Benelli Supersport 😍👍
As always great video... it’s also help when you speak well of a gun that I recently purchased.
The Yildiz feels like a plank of wood (pun intended) rather then the race gun perazzi it tries to copy. Perazzi's are expensive but the yildiz is very expensive for what it is. It's charging for the sake of charging i think. Then again thats most shotguns.
I have the alternative/clone to the Benelli. It’s a Girsan MC312!
Please do a full review of the Browning Cynery CX. TYIA.
Hi there. What about the Akkar double crown as the cheap version of a Guerini Summit Ascent?
Great song on the open!!!
This is amazing I’ve been waiting for a video just like this one for ages
Remington 32 came out before the Kriegoff.
This is like watching the shotgun Rainman. But don't be offended because I subscribed.
That final comment about Benelli 😆😆😆😎😎😎😎😎🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I have a TriStar TT-15 Sporting. It does just as well as my Browning 725 Sporting. Yes you can feel the difference in quality but it shoots just was well. But the TriStar is a nice budget friendly over under if you don’t want to spend over 1k+.
I wanted a 16 ga OU to shoot trap and did not want to spend a lot. I purchased a TriStar. Looks good for the money. Trigger pull sucks. One trigger 5 pounds 8 ounces the other 8 pounds 14 oz. Went back to my Savage 755A Auto.
Great videos mate. Just one question, which gun do you grab when you go clay shooting?
My Longthorne
I have a 690 black and am considering putting some money into the stock and trigger and wondering if you think it’s worth it? Adding a tsk stock on the 690 might be kind of ridiculous since it’s no dt11 haha
Beretta 682 gold E and the Dt10 were also awesome quality and extremely shootable and reliable truth be told there probably better quality than beretta’s current crop that costs silly money
old Beretta's quality is far better than their new stuff
My first Gun was beretta 682 gold and it was really really good, worth it if you find one.
I’ve bought an ATA super sport, got it for £50 more than the standard SP at my local gun shop. Great fun and fits surprising well for what it is :)
Please look into the TriStar trap combo Deluxe and you will be surprised and make a video on it I would love to see it
So most of these have cheaper alternatives..... except the Beretta's, but for some of the others.. you could buy a Beretta!! and there was me thinking you were a Miroku fan boy!! ;)
😂 Miroku till I die (or can afford better)
I feel like you had 3-4 pints at lunch before this one Johnny :) still a good vid though 👍
Great vid, the cheapest P gun clone sounded like aramenymac????
Great video as always, have you got any views on The Redolfi Eos Sporter? i'm thinking about getting one when licence finally comes.
How do you get a brand new miroku in America? Or would I just be better off getting the Browning equivalent?
Browning are badge engineered mirokus since the merger
Entertaining, well done. 👍🏻
Great video as always👍. Just a quick question regarding the Bennelli M2, how would you compare the Franchi Affinity One to the Bennelli M2?
I’ve used both, both are great guns, but the M2 comes with the option of a comfortech stock which makes it a more comfortable gun to use.
It would be nice to have some text in the video to see the names of the guns, and more graphics too
You got anything with a pistol grip stock?
Well done !!
Hey TGS....... Why don't you review the Franchi affinity....... I bought one after getting bored with u/o
Or do you like benellis to much to do a side by side comparison 😉😉😉😉
Great idea! I'm considering an Affinity sporting instead of a Benelli, since the Franchi is half the price.
Won't the fragile terra cotta crack like a flower pot too small for big roots???
Reading the closed captions (from english to english) is hilarious.
is the host speaking english?
I wonder how a Browning Cynergy would fare against a Blaser F3 in a head-to-head shootout?
The ugliest Browning ever made.
What is the Aranberry Mac? Cheapest Perazzi copy. I think i miss heard you but you were speaking very quickly.
I have both & my 686 doesn’t compare personally. 694 handles so much better.
Thanks for your input. I was offered one for 3.3k in the US which seems like a great deal to me!
Aaron Lonneman is that for the standard non adjustable comb version? That’s a good price. 30” or 32” Barrel? The 694 feels so good in the hand.
Yep it's for the standard non-adjustable comb version. The one I'd get is the 32 inch version, I think the 30 inch would be the same price though. I don't need the adjustable stock as those dimensions fit me very well
more confused now than befor
Think the rizzni Pro sport the way to go
Another good video Jonny, hanging out for a video of a new vs old..... a clay day with maybe a new miroku vs a bc miroku or old citori vs new 525.... food for thought 😋
Every video you see on the TriStar trap shotgun you will be amazed
Where can I pick up the TGS here in the US
Hey when will you review Fausti italyco?
Man, do Americans sound that cheesy when we fake British accents? No matter, amazing vid.
Mostly yes 😂
I own an "old model" Remington 3200 26" barrel skeet gun with Briley tube set for 20,28 gauge and .410. I'm not good enough to do all it will do, because I'm not a AA shooter in all gauges. I don't think I would trade for a barrel set, as I have custom choke inserts for the 28 gauge and .410 tubes. A good skeet shooter with the 20 gauge tubes installed, might as well use the stock to break cases of skeet birds, as he/she will do that with the gun. What more do you need?
any relation to Wyatt ?
A good dt10 would be the best value for money!
Ever heard about the Redolfi RA EOS series shotguns?
Before the DT 11 or DT 10 . there´s the ASE90
Caesar green Invictus sounds like a ship from Warhammer 40k.
You forgat The silver Pigeon ...
Beretta 686......
@@michaelficarro2591 about the same
i had a 686 silver pigeon as a teaching gun over a 5 year period i put over 100.000 rounds through that gun and when i traded it in i got £30 more than i paid for it
@@alanbush4192 great gun
Just get a used remington 870.
What are thoughts on Winchester model 101?
you cant get the spares for them any more . Ok till it breaks
The best ever
Lololol. Dt11 today 11+k. Got a unsingle chance sed but pristine dt 10 today for 6k....the 2000 pounds price is a dream and not reality today
A good shot is going to be good with a £100 Spanish SxS, a bad shot is going to be bad with a £2000 Browning...
alternative to the benelli, at least the benelli m2 would be the franchi affinity
Except they are far less reliable from experience
@@tgsoutdoors really?, i cant say ive ever had an issue with mine, have it 3 years, it cycles everything from 21g to 40g loads every time, ive used it for pigeons, crow control, small bit of duck hunting and on clays, really found it to be a great all rounder and has a 7 year warranty.... ps my other favourite in the gun cabinet is a baikal model 27em o/u ssshhhh ! its 20 year old and feels like its only just broken in!!
@@Morroes100 I've shot the Montefeltro sporting and am seriously considering it or a Franchi Affinity sporting. I haven't seen an Affinity elite.
Everybody is always looking for the real expensive shotguns the Kohler for instance it's a beautiful gun but make some time and look at the TriStar combo Deluxe trap shotgun these Turkish people have made a gorgeous trap shotgun for $1,600 with beautiful wood ported barrels 34-in unsingle with a double over and under 32 in ported barrels adjustable comb adjustable rib beautiful would you can't beat this and they you can remove the trigger and they shoot great look into it so you'll see what I'm talkin about and stop showing these expensive shotguns at some of us can't afford
Funny NY ending get 👍
Substitute for a Benelli?
A cheaper Benelli, Franchi Affinity.
I need one of those hats........
Antonio Zoli Kronos Sporting?
Great video. Thanks again...........
