Had a look on UA-cam, both pink and seafoam are lovely colours. In the review they also had a grey spectrum which also looked great but then again grey is a bit of a non colour. Surprised the spectrum model is 30 years old, looks cutting edge today, really was ahead of it's time. I wasn't impressed with the desert sand, black or orange but then again choice is a great thing so no harm offering the customer a wide range of colours. Alister
It’s taken me a few years to track this one down, there’s a pink one up for sale on reverb at the moment but in the US but the shipping will be crazy. But if any pop up in Europe I’ll be all over it!
lol got a matching Fender P bass and a strat. The bass was given to me by my mentor and I bought the strat as an after thought favorite color for an instrument although I want an classic Eggshell Blue Strat too
I had a seafoam one which I gave to my friend as payment for wiring my house. I still miss it, and he won't sell it back to me - he's told me I can have it when he dies 😄
@@kerryymm hopefully I’ll find one at some point. Especially the sea foam green, that’s my dream guitar. I would put my favourite pickups in and make it my main guitar. This blue one is all original so I’ll keep it that way 🤘

The mental gymnastics to keep all the notes correct. Physically i can play faster than i can think. This is why after decades of no clue i started using strict alternate picking everything including arpeggios. For now i use 0.88 or 1 mm picks and get the pick sequences and tone correct no rushing. Using directional picking is harder to keep time and i feel fret wear is greater than strict alternate picking, as alternate picking strictly balances muscle tension in addition to facilitating muscle memory for note sequences. Also, using d-u-d then u-d-u sequences picking ascending or descending allows the player to personalize the interpretation of the beat, in essence cheating instead of doing strictly six notes in a row for each beat the lines are blurred. I love changing the pick directions string to string either during arpeggios, or scale sequences, hopping over strings to change picking angles facilitates both memory and quality of sound, the depth of precision is greater than using directional economy picking. Thx for your videos.
For most of my playing career I was a strict alternate picker and the down up down up was ingrained in me. Over the years I found that descending runs were easier than ascending. I analysed my technique closely for the first time ever a few years ago and discovered that I had started economy picking while descending but still alternate on the way up. When I arranged the Paganini pieces I found that economy picking worked way better for those ideas so I worked on transferring my technique completely to that. I recognise that you do lose some of the very rhythmic feel like Paul Gilbert’s playing ideas but I find it more musical, like a cascade of notes rather than a spikier quality. Also it’s liberated my improvisations because I don’t have to think in certain pattens like 3 note per string because now I can play runs with a mix of 1, 2 and 3 notes per string. There’s no right way, just finding the best way for yourself personally. Which you’ve also done 👌🤘
Thanks man seeing what you have created with your originals. I’m about to want to write and record originals again. I quit after what happened to the music scene after Covid. It’s still a strummy strummerton $100 acoustic gig world around here even now

@@MaestroStevieJ86 best guitar I’ve ever played. I genuinely find it harder to play non scalloped boards now. It’s just so effortless to play. And I’ve never had a Strat where the trem stayed perfectly in tune even with dive bombs and up bends. This one does. I’m definitely keeping it forever!

Very cool! I am just recovering from a head injury from an accident and practicing everyday to get back into shape. Its kinda like Malmsteen's scenario when he crashed his Ferrari. Hoping to record in 3 months or so.
Is that your standard warm-up patterns? I'm looking to update my Stevie J originals playlist, can you help me out man? Those strings have settled in now, kinda lost that aggressive glassy treble that blew me away on the last vid. Cheers mate 👍
There’s lots of nice neoclassical patterns in this one for sure. It’s definitely a good warm up for the picking hand. That’s how I got that glassy effect on Scarified 👌 I will be resuming the originals in the near future 🤘🤘

What kinda pickups are you playing? Single coils? I've been out of the electric guitar game for a while but emgs were what everyone used back when I played metal lmao
In this guitar they are stacked humbuckers, so noiseless but with the same magnet window as a singlecoil. I’m a single coil guy, the magnet window is too big on a humbucker for my ears. Single coils just have a sweeter sound. I prefer low output pickups as well so you have to drive the preamp harder to get the gain. Again a sweeter tone to my ears. But it’s all personal preference
If I may give my two cents (as a guitarist who can't play nowhere near this, so I'm not trying to be mean or anything), while your technique is very very good, there are a few moments where you're rushing just a bit. I won't say "practice with a metronome duuurrrrhh" because I imagine you've spent thousands of hours doing just that lol. And frankly I don't mind not being perfectly on time when it comes to music, but this particular type of music is pretty strict on hitting the notes at the right time exactly, so I hope this comes off as constructive criticism.
If anyone has a pink or sea foam green Charvel spectrum they want to sell me, give me a bell 😉😁
