That depends a lot on what mods you do to the bike. Stock, I was getting about 80 miles (road riding) before the fuel light came on. It would take around 2 gal to fill it back up. So, it should go 100 miles to completely empty. Now I have an FMF exhaust, weighted flywheel, and Vortex ECU set to the enduro map. Its getting a lot more air and fuel now so I suspect maybe 65 - 70 miles before the fuel light comes on. (80'ish to empty). I'll probably end up going to a 3.5 gal tank next season.
2019 was the first year of production, so there aren’t a lot of them out there yet. I have seen a few used ones but prices are high. Now that the 2021’s are coming out, you may be able to get a good deal if you can find a dealer who still has a new 2019 in stock. I got mine for $8,350.
I'm no pro. I'm a 50 year old amateur who likes to ride back roads and trails. I'll mod it because that's part of the fun but even bone stock, it has plenty of power for me. I have had a KLR650 and a WR450F that I converted to street legal. Of the three, this is the best bike has the best balance between road and dirt. I'm happy and would buy it again.
love the mods especially the Jerry can and rack. Tool tube I'd be a little worried about smashing it.
I've laid mine over more times than I care to admit. No issues with the tool tube so far.
Could it haul a rubber fist to my 80 year reunion??
Nice upload
I'm looking at buying this bike how far will a tank of gas take you? Do you know the kilometers or miles on one tank?

@@ufixit I think ims only makes a 3.1 and safari has a 5gal.
Hopefully I'll get a decent deal next week and have one.
How do you find one of these I’ve been looking everywhere. It looks like the only place you can get one as a dealer. Not really any private sellers.

I picked one up in TN. 7800 leftover.
I’m still looking for one but I might go to Honda Bc I can’t find any private sellers.
What is your overall impression of the bike?
I’m on the fence

Its everything the DR400SM should have been. Fuel injected, more power and better looks
