I wish the character of Louise's sister was a more permanent fixture on this show. Would have been great to see how Lionel and Janie interacted with someone else in their generation. Plus he was a lawyer! Love it!
One of TV best sitcoms ever to Sherman hemsley and isabel sanford and the other actors and actresses who passed away my thoughts are with your family you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong after all these years later appreciate the memories and a good laugh watching the Jeffersons on TV or my cell phone is priceless great job people you should be proud brings back lots of great memories appreciate you guys thanks !!!! Joe
There was a great flashback episode when Louise returned to her old apartment about to be demolished and showed a young Louise with her mother after her sister ran away.
Josephine Premice played the part of Louise' sister. Her father was a Hatian revolutionary. She is the mother of Susan Fales-Hill the primary writer of The Cosby Show.
You're applying a 21st century mindset to one of the '50s - 70s. Young girls were ostracized when they become pregnant. Some were thrown out the house and disowned, sent to school for unwed girls, or forced to get an abortion.
This was in the seventies or eighties. Meaning Maxine was pregnant in the forties or fifties. Of course she ran away. Single women were not pregnant in those days.
I don’t go for having kids out of wedlock either. I agree it’s not good for a stable family or society. But I’m glad that nobody shames someone for life bc of a stupid mistake they made in their youth. And I’m glad that nobody is forced to marry or spend a lifetime with someone who isn’t right for them. (Though both should contribute equally towards child support.) Because that’s not healthy for a stable family or society, either.
@ your theory traps people in abusive situations who have incompatible partners! It would be nice if marriage was forever, but it looks like you can see how important the ability to divorce really is. Maga has actually threatened to outlaw divorce.
We'll IMO George should have left the room as well. Well at least if it were me i would have said , " i am going to leave you too alone to talk. Unless you want me to stay Louise?"
Would be nice to see a mordern update of the show just to see the lives of the children of the characters have progressed and have both Lenny Kravitz and cousin Al Roker make an appearance in the update of the mordern version of the show maybe a four episode run just to test how well it does.
They reference her sister in another episode as well when Louise reminisces about the past. She visits the old building she used to live in as a young girl since if I remember correctly is about to be torn down.
Bull! She never confronts her sister about anything. Once Louise saw that Maxine had a son, she lost all her nerve. Now, I would have told Maxine about herself. She ran away from home and came back 30 years later. If you watch the flashbacks, you can see that Louise's mother favored Maxine & wasn't too nice to Louise, especially after Maxine left.
Your absolutely right..at some point she should have realized that she had nothing to be ashame about...but 30 years😂😢..she let too much time pass by, she didn't know if they were dead or alive at that point.
There was nothing to confront her about. She realized she had made up a picture in her head based on her own feelings and insecurities while her sister did the best she could in tough circumstances.
I like the way George had Louise’s back, whatever her problem it was his too, as it should be!
that's all I asked from my hubby. Lord knows I always had his.
George did not play about Louise - he was bout to go IN on the sister! Classic show!
No matter how much he teased her, he did not play about someone else messing with her.
I wish the character of Louise's sister was a more permanent fixture on this show. Would have been great to see how Lionel and Janie interacted with someone else in their generation. Plus he was a lawyer! Love it!
I TOTALLY agree!
I love how George was ready to fight for Louise.
George looked like he was ready to fight standing behind Louise🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol
George Jefferson was a great husband, a great father, a great son , and a great businessman
I love me some Louise! She’s an example of sass with class! ♥️
The bathroom by the front door...That always cracked me up.😂😅
THIS IS A SUPERB SHOW WITH GREAT ACTORS.A GEM.
Jennie’s brother apparently did the same thing. Folks were really running to France back then 😊

I wished Ms. Josephine Premice did more episodes. Maybe she could have introduced Jason to his cousin Lionel.❤
I know, i would have liked to see that character more
I have to look but I think her sister is still alive.
@@edwarda2033 She is not
Yes indeed! That would have been really great!!!
I love how he has a wife back
This is real tv, none of that cussing, minstrel show nonsense that I refuse to watch nowadays.
Josephine Premice was a huge talent! Effortless elegance and poise, and a divine singer.
There was a great flashback episode when Louise returned to her old apartment about to be demolished and showed a young Louise with her mother after her sister ran away.
One of the few times he really stands up for Louise
This was a great episode! Let me find the full show!
Perfect clip of the episode. I never saw this one on TV.
love the casting, they both have raspy voices
I wish she had returned.

😂😂😂😂 my favorite show actors
I ❤❤❤ this classic show. WEEZY!! 🤣🤣
The power of forgiveness!
She was gone 30 years just because of her son?? please Maxine!!
Of course. What else was she supposed to do?

well back then having a kid out of wedlock wasn't glorified.
@@1talldaddy It should not be condemned nor glorified. Both are stupid.
George always stood up fir his wife
This happens only when you’re more worried about what others will think than what you believe!
Back in the day having a child out of wedlock was shamed unlike today where it’s commonplace
AND, men were SHAMED into taking care of their KIDS
AND the loss of both of these things is why society is where it is TODAY
@@ryanyoung9202
Nope, lots of men were allowed to run away and society was more concerned with shaming the woman.
@@ryanyoung9202hope you can cheer up.

O va! - Florence 😂😂😂
Enjoying all the full episodes! could you please upload the episode "Louise Suspects" would love to watch that again, super funny! Cheers
Almost everybody had a family member who "disappears" to avoids family responsibilities.
And what's crazy is she actually looked and sounded like Wezzy
The show must have been live. 0:34 Notice how George flubbed that line and the show just continued. He meant "jive jazz singer."
Hadnt even noticed! Good catch. And yes, The Jeffersons was recorded in front of a live studio audience.
She was great when she guest star on A Different World
I’m pretty sure she heard them thru those walls!
Perspectives. I loved this.
George didn’t play when it came to wizzie
Crazy how George and Weezy were over 20 years apart in real life
We'll IMO George should have left the room as well.
Well at least if it were me i would have said , " i am going to leave you too alone to talk.
Unless you want me to stay Louise?"
Beautiful!
The point is, so much time was lost over a misunderstanding.
Her sister looks like Josephine Baker.
She does not.

Had no idea she had a sister!
They reference her sister in another episode as well when Louise reminisces about the past. She visits the old building she used to live in as a young girl since if I remember correctly is about to be torn down.
@thenuclearsandwich ah ok. I clearly missed a lot of the episodes/reruns.
I love Weezie & George 💜💜💜
Josephine Premice??
George didn't play about his Weasy
This episode was on today.
30 years is still crazy. Id be mad still but thats just me.
Really 😂
George, it's not your call, dude. It's Louise's. Back off and let her make it.
the "actor" playing Louise's nephew is TERRIBLE.
I miss this show

You’re a judgmental grouch.
There was nothing to confront her about. She realized she had made up a picture in her head based on her own feelings and insecurities while her sister did the best she could in tough circumstances.
@belkyhernandez8281Facts. Sometimes people need to just learn to forgive
Weezee had a sister? Never knew that...
First❤🎉
