Well it was weird but the moment the young lady tells Louise that she her daughter and mentions the year 1951. Louise gets real quiet, like she knew something but, was ashamed or something.
Mother Jefferson owed Louise that much since she was the one that started all of that. She had George believing Louise cheated on him while he was serving in Korea.
The picture showed Louise without a baby bump when she was supposedly near giving birth. However, some women can go all the way through a pregnancy without showing.
Personally, I’m shocked to hear Mother Jefferson was willing to have any contact with Louise while George was overseas. Unless Lionel had already been born?

She got pregnant at 16, and ran away for 9 months and then came back like nothing happened. In that time she had the baby and gave it up for adoption. Nobody knew until he turned 18 and came looking for his mother. This was in the 1950s and it was 1970s when he came back. It’s not that far of a stretch. And as far as whether she knew she was pregnant or not; the point of the show was implying she kept it a secret all these years. Not that she didn’t remember. Women have secrets too. I’ve seen so many crime dramas involving women who abandon their kids. Sometimes they just leave them in the forest or in a trash can.
