Friends had 236 episodes and it wasnt run in the 80s when we had too many good shows to watch. Friends was ahead of a small crowd and that was manipulated. They did the same to the Orignal friends/a black show Living Single. Just saw a doc on that.

Sometimes sitcoms just run their course. The Jeffersons lasted for eleven seasons. Sandford and Son lasted for six and was cancelled because there were contract disputes with Redd Foxx. Good Times was cancelled after six seasons because it became "The JJ Show," which got old. None of them were cancelled for "no reason." It's no different than why sitcoms with white characters are cancelled.

"The Jeffersons" was taken off the air primarily because its ratings declined significantly over time, dropping below the top 30, leading to the show's cancellation after its final season in 1985; this was further compounded by cast changes, including Paul Benedict leaving for a period during the series run.

    • @rakeeshajones6832
      @rakeeshajones6832 24 дні тому +47

Let me clear this up for you. The "kidney" episode was the episode when George's cousin Dusty needed a kidney. The episode that you're referring to is when the KKK had a meeting in their building. During the meeting, Grand Dragon (or whatever the hell he was) suffered a heart attack. Being that George knew how to perform CPR, he reluctantly did it and saved his life. When the KKK came to....that's when he gave that line. As a kid watching that episode, I really wish that George gave that mam his heart's desire. 😂😂😂😂

The show was cancelled because its ratings dropped below 30. Its last episode was Red Robins. However, the cancellation was not due to any particular episode.

*Wait I missed something. I thought "Jenny" was only played by one person Belinda Tolbert? I'm a late 90s baby who loves this show. I watched this show with my grandmother before she passed a few years ago. Fascinating backstory to "The Jeffersons!"* 💗💗

Once a TV show has generated significant revenue for the company, it often becomes unnecessary to continue producing that show. Many TV shows have been canceled because the company has shifted its focus away from appealing to a particular audience.

I still watch Sanford and Son in 2024...soon to be 2025!
Favorite quote from Fred: Cream and Ripple...cripple! 🤣🤣 The names he would combine! He was way before his time!
    Champipple: Champagne & Ripple
    Cripple: Cream & Ripple
    Stripple: Straight Ripple
    Muscatipple: Muscatel & Ripple
    Cripple is still my favorite!
One more for the road: Fred is on the phone:
Person on the phone asks who they are speaking to and Fred replies: Fled (trying to disguise himself and speaking with a Japanese accent). They ask him to repeat it and he says Fled. They ask again for him to repeat it and he gets frustrated and spouts "Fred, you big dummy!"
    What a great show!
But before I sign off, I have to end this comment by saying this is exactly how my brother and dad interacted. My immediate family were the white Sanfords and my extended family (my dad's brother) were the Bunkers. He not only looked like Archie, he acted like Archie, too!

If the creators of this channel wanted to make sure that no one subscribes in the future, they’ve done a great job. Making promises and not fulfilling them is really obnoxious.
