I have a serious phobia of those bastards. I found one kn a Poloski Preservation Shelter in Far Harbor and had to stop playing the game. I hate those fucking things.
The Dogmeat theory has a one glaring issue: Dogmeat was part of the Quincy group. Dialogue with Mama Murphy provides proof of that. I also suspect that the dead body you find on the road to Red Rocket is his previous own. Consider this: raiders attack the group, but Dogmeat and his own were basically the recon team, range ahead of the group and use Dogmeat's nose as a detection tool. Raiders ambush the group, owner sees that they're cut off from the others, panics and flees, takes a bullet or two and gets finished by a raider attack dog. Dogmeat takes shelter in Red Rocket, your character finds him, then you go on magical adventures of friendship and mini nukes.
Also that nick knows who he is too meaning that hes just met the dog and the group before. Hell more than likely hes worked with dogmeat before on other cases
Honestly I always thought that the initial dead guy in the beginning that you get the tire iron and road leathers off of was his owner, which is why he was so friendly and well trained.
Imagine if Bethesda had made it so if you walk into a room full of mannequins, there's a slight chance they all come to life and just swarm you. That would be terrifying.
Or if whenever all 20 of them are out of the frame, only 19 would reappear when you look at them again. One will vanish every single time, and it might take you a while to notice. You would think maybe you are mistaken. But once you find out you will continue to look away and back, away and back, until one remained. And you would freak out every time so there wouldnt have to be another twist. Aside from maybe a writing on a wall that says something like "out of the screen" or "behind the player". Is there something behind you?
If you think about it, putting mannequins everywhere is a great alarm system. Aggressive intruders might mistake them for people and shoot, alerting you to their presence. Big building, base on top floor..... it's like an alarm. And it can set them up so u just have to stand still if u wanna trick em then shoot em. It's brilliant. I'd put them everywhere too. But I think it's a nod to nuclear test sites.
When I first started playing in a modded survival playthrough (where every firefight is deadly (as it should)) that's the first thing that came to mind as I peeped around a corner and saw a room full of mannequins. lol. I thought, "If there were an NPC in between all of them standing still to get the drop on me, I'd have been f*cked rn."
Yeah, especially a dumb super mutant or raider that's so strong out they just shoot at any shilouete. I was just thinking about that today while playing.
Vault 111 was two experiments in one. First was the Cryo experiment, the other was to see how the staff and guards would react to the "All Clear" message not arriving.
Nah, I think the reason the all clear didn’t arrive was because there was no one left to send it. Vault tec probably just died off and were unable to aid their experiments.
@Bob Ross’s Ghost @Peplar, yeah, there’s a bug in Skyrim which means the mannequins in player owned homes often spawn in as NPCs rather than static objects, walk a very short distance, then freeze in position. Can be pretty bloody creepy, even when you know that it happens and why.
Mannequins are actually a really good thing to have around your base. In the dark it would be hard to discern man from maniquen and you could snipe the wrong thing and alert the whole camp to your presence.
Skyrim is a different Kalpa - one that arguably exists after the Fallout Universe, or before, but one of the strange anomalous creatures that changed over were the mannequins. In Skyrim, magic or daedra could be controlling them, or they're simply unknown. In Fallout? Nobody knows, but they only move when you're not looking at them.
Skyrim would actually come after fallout 4, maybe on another planet that has elves, with probably some supermutants that mutated again, and aren't sterile somehow, and crashed on the uninhabited island of atmora. Some of the super mutants turned into behemoths, and others shrank to almost nord-size, and eventually they turned back into people as they kept breeding, and eventually we got like proto-nordic human in the land of atmora, and also a proto-giant (cuz giants in skyrim) and they eventually encountered elves, and yeah, the rest is history. They would've obviously had to start over from scratch and wouldn't have any firearms if supermutants were captured and being transported. Maybe the dwemer came and salvaged the ship, and based alot of their tech off the crashed ship. Makes sense, right?
Dogmeat wasn't a stray. He traveled to the area with the Minutemen you meet in Quincy. Whoever originally put that theory together must have just not paid much attention to dialogue.
Yeah, but I didn't say that it did. All I said is that this particular theory, the one mentioned in this video, must have been made by someone who doesn't know the dialogue, since Dogmeat simply showing up at the Red Rocket was used as their main evidence.
Whenever I encounter a mannequin, I always melee it so it falls over, then check to see if I can move it. If I can, I leave it alone. If I can’t, I use an entire clip of ammo on its face, because if a mannequin is too heavy to move, something is very, very wrong.
@@charlesatanasio7223 In one of the metro stations there's a group of mannequins in a circle. The first time I find it in a play through at least one is a synth
Maybe Dogmeat isn't scared of the Sole survivor beaucause the sole survior still smell like before the war a "clean smell" and dogmeat already know what smells to avoid like the smell of raiders or gouls ect...
Actually, in the quest “Getting a clue” In Kellogg’s secret room, if you suggest to use dogmeat to track Kellogg, nick will say “not a bad idea, some dogs in the commonwealth can track a man for miles” “Some dogs in the commonwealth” implies there are other dogs out there, unless he’s referring to mutant hounds or mongrels, which doesn’t seem likely, therefore dogmeat being a synth because of his un-mutated nature is a throw away point
Well, there's Gene, the wandering dog seller whose dogs are "normal". Then there's Erickson, the friendly Super Mutant who lives in the crashed airliner on Far Harbor Island who also sells normal dogs. So I guess these guys must be getting their dogs from somewhere, or someone. It's cool if when you first meet Erickson you have Old Longfellow in tow. A unique conversation between them will take place, and if you then respond favourably with Erickson, Longfellow will "like" it.
An "entity" known as Dogmeat has existed since Fallout 1 and made an appearance in every mainstream Fallout game except NV (and I had a Dogmeat mod). Dogmeat is an otherworldly spirit who guides heroes to their destiny. (Maybe not in NV because even though we save Vegas, our original motivation is revenge). While the "dog" may be different, the "spirit" is the same. 😉
If u never met Dogmeat and proceed in the main quest up to the point u have to track down Kellog, Nick says that he has a friend who can help out in that particular case. Than he sends a signal that only Dogmeat can hear and Dogmeat appears in Diamond City to help finding Kellog.
Bruno Franca I meant like while Nick was part of the Institute. I honestly haven't really learned much about him though, I only really interacted with him while looking for Kellog and going into the glowing sea.
Some folks have pointed out Mama Murphy's line "I know your pain" in the quest When Freedom Calls as further evidence of her having a son, like the Sole Survivor. Its a small line, but it fits the theory in context
They are definitely scary. In Skyrim, I had a mannequin that was in my room in Whiterun. When I woke up it was in my room and I screamed. I was playing on the Ps3 when it happened (mods wasn't allowed in 2011).
"What is it? Dragons?" *Sees mannequin standing next to the bed.* *mannequin looks down* "Takes a fair bit of strength to carry a greatsword like that. But can you use it?"
I just started playing this game and i love it. I had a weird experience with the mannequins, I was exploring Spectacle Island and saw some mannequins inside a container and when I unlocked the workshop there I was scrapping stuff and when I went to the container to scrap the mannequins, it was no longer there. The mannequins disappeared.
I always thought the mannequins were put there by raiders, etc. as bait or to confuse potential attackers into giving away their position or something.
xyzyx69 Raider 1:Have you seen Jeff lately? Raider 2:Nope...heard he went insane, obsessed with mannequins apparently, what do you reckon he's doing?" Raider 1:I dunno, probably setting up mannequins in weird locations *Later* Raider 3 (Jeff):Hey guys! Raider 2:sup,where you've been? Raider 3:Just setting up mannequins all over so I can have friends EVERYWHERE Raider 1:Called it,Like where? Raider 3:Oh you know, all the normal places, shipwrecks,oh and this- Raider 2:Nice!You find anything good in the wreck? Raider 3:No,it was all wet, whole thing Raider 1:...Jeff...You have some problems....How did you even survive?
Dogmeat theory : if you activate the dog bowl in nates house before the war he"ll say "never gonna find that dog". Maybe Dogmeat is a decendant from nates dog which would explain why dogmeat may be familiar to nate.
if you look out the window in the very first part of the game in prewar sanctuary, your character remarks, "We're never going to find that dog." and see a dog house and bowl in the empty back yard....coincidence?? meybe.
maybe the theory of dogmeat being part of the institute and the fact that the player character lost his dog( if you activate the dog bowl at the start of the game he/she tells you that they never found there dog)could both be true as the institute found dogmeat a little after the bombs droped and turned him into a spy. just a thought.
I love Nate and all his videos, but something in this that was clearly neglected is that Dogmeat was mama murphy's dog. she straight up tells you that when you first meet them in concord. woof.
At your first meeting she literally tells you that she is not the owner of dogmeat. She said that group of Minutemen worked with Dogmeat and that she send him to search for help. Not that he is hers.
Dogmeat isnt a spy nor a synth, it's been said that synth animals have started not too long ago and they are close to perfecting the gorillas and before they only finished the crows, also dogmeat always roamed around the commonwealth helping people in need from master to master until he met the minutemen and ran to look for help and saw red rocket for supplies or anyone then found you
I was going to add that there's evidence against Dogmeat being a synth (though I'll admit it's an interesting fan theory, but still a fan theory nonetheless). If he was a synth then that would make Mama Murphy and all who are acquainted with him a synth too because they have specific dialogue about how he's such a good boy. If he truly were meant to just be a spy on the survivor, then what would be the point of having him wander around helping other folks too? The only reason I can think of is to test his functions and see how well he performs which would be a great idea, but at what cost? The amount of time and resources it would take to accomplish said task would be kinda wasteful since they only just started getting animal synths right. I found the whole animal synths thing more as a nod to "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" anyways, but I digress. I believe the synth crows/birds were the real spies. 1. They're smaller and less noticeable therefore making them less of a target. 2. Resource-wise it would make a lot of sense to mass produce such birds to spy considering they can fly, hide in plain sight, etc etc. 3. Easier to manage than sending out just regular synths hoping they don't get caught. Anyways, that's just one man's perspective on the matter.
Dogmeat may be a psychopomp. Normally these entities are responsible for taking souls to the afterlife, not judging, just transportation. But psychopomps can also be guides during life transitions. And leaving a vault to a horrific wasteland is a pretty big transition from a normal suburban life. Dogmeat is also the one companion that will never leave you, no matter your decisions. It's a little creepy, but Dogmeat might just _look_ like a dog because he's in A Form You Are Comfortable With.
Dogmeat came from Quincy with Garvey''s group of settlers. Mama Murphy even says she sent Dogmeat ahead to find help when they holed up in the museum in Concord.
And it would make sense that DogMeat could be a Synth, since Sturges is also a Synth. Sadly, lazy writing could also be true. DogMeat from FallOut 3 was found when his owner was killed by Raiders. Plus making DogMeat count as a full follower was also very lazy. So glad for a good modding community.
DogMeat doesn't count as a true follower. Perks that require you to be alone still work with DogMeat. Unless you are simply referring to having both DogMeat and another follower then yeah.
I read somewhere that there’s multiple dogmeats they’re all descendants the last one (different breed might just be for show) and go around helping good people. Idk where I read it tho
My Dogmeat theory is very simple, he is Bethesda's Fallout version of a sort of M'aiq the Liar (Elder Scrolls). Different cat ,same name. M'aiq the Liar is in all the Elder Scrolls that I've played, at least going back to Elder Scrolls Morrowind. The M'aiq the Liar you encounter in Skyrim, mentions that his father's name was M'aiq the Liar, and his father before that. The difference is that Dogmeat, no matter what, is always destined to accompany the hero, just as his ancestors did in FO3 with the Lone Wanderer and the Courier in New Vegas. In the next Fallout, one of Dogmeat's (from FO4) offspring will do the same and so on. A blood line of dogs, fated to accompany great heroes on their journeys, generation after generation.
Same way you can find fresh barrels of food in caves no one has entered in centuries in skyrim, or how you can find lit torches underwater. Game desiiiiiigggggnnnnn
My personal headcanon is that Dogmeat has been the same dog for all the games (minus NV and 76), that he took a lick of some FEV in the first game and just stayed immortal throughout the years, moving from west to east and losing friends along the way.
Dogmeat was also in fallout 3. My theory: He's an immortal being sent to help specific entities achieve certain tasks, possibly by an entity either aligned with/against Ug-Qualtoth? Considering that, in fallout 3, Dogmeat could "respawn" with the puppies perk getting stronger each time he did so. I believe that he is meant to guide important people and ensure that certain events happen, because in fallout 4 dogmeat appears outside Kellogs house whether he was your companion or not. Fate? Divine intervention? Who knows...
There actually is a dialogue with a random person you meet who says he got the runs from that canned meat and says you probably want to stay away from him for obvious reasons. He gives you the rest of the meat even if it was bad and walks away. You also get a quest from it. Just a fun fact :)
I thought Dogmeat is based off the dog from A Boy and His Dog. So it would make more sense that like that dog, Dogmeat is telepathic and intelligent. So knowing you are a Pre-War vault dweller that is uncorrupted by the wasteland then you would make the perfect companion for him.
Hibekaze veteran duelist doubtful, but perhaps in Fallout 5. 76 is not going to be like previous titles, do not expect it to be riddled with stories. With no NPCs anywhere, and the fact that you will be one of the first people to step into the new world, we will get easter eggs and perhaps some mysterious notes at best.
Skeletoriels, PSN its probably the main story then not many side quests, but more indepth of what why and how the world became as it did and how the different societies are dispersed ?
Dogmeat is not a stray. Nick Valentine had worked with him, at least that what Nick says. Plus the minute man in concord set him out for according to Mama Murphy
Theres already an explanation for dogmeat. He belongs to the minutemen, and someone (probably preston) sent him out to find help while they were under seige in the museum of freedom à la Lassie. You can hear Marcie Long mention something about it if you stick around long enough to hear their random dialogue.
When fighting off the raiders and helping the minutemen in the museum of freedom there’s a room that’s full of manikins that may seem normally weird, if you knock them all down and walk out the museum and walk back in and go to the room full of manikins there is a small chance of all the manikins standing up again
It’s also a bad theory, there is nothing to it at all. Woman that enters a small community has a psychic premonition because she is standing in the presence of a man who will spend his adulthood trying to kill her. She(high on chems, duh) tells him. No one believes her because...chems... and then it actually happens. The kid finds out premonitions are real and spends his life trying to have them because having them will keep him safe. What part of that necessitates being her son? Stupid theory.
Parnman wait i think I’m confused by your wording. It’s a theory because they have psychic premonitions, which is pretty unique in the world of fallout. Because one is an older lady and the other is a young boy, people suspect they are mother and son. There aren’t a ton of details to prove this, but honestly there aren’t a ton of details to most of the theories on the games. It makes sense to me.
I honestly never saw the mannequins as supernatural. I saw it as a depressing reminder that there are some people in the wasteland that don't have families, friends, loved ones, enemies, anything really. I always saw them in these positions as the less stable wastelanders desperately trying to humanize anything around them, so they don't feel so lonely...
Another possibility for Dogmeat: When leaving Sanctuary across the bridge towards Concord, the sole survivor will find a fresh corpse of a raider and mutated dog. Since the bodies are so fresh, maybe Dogmeat was with that raider who was his owner (in this hypothesis) until his untimely end. This would also explain why Dogmeat would go to Red Rocket, which is one of the closest building to the corpses.
@@AllweHaveIsTime Maybe I missed something, but I did not see anything to support this conjecture aside from Mama Murphy's comment about Dogmeat, but I attributed that to her fortune-telling abilities. Were there more instances of Dogmeat being referred to as in connection to the minutemen or the survirors in Concord? If so, what were they?
@missingindy, what is, the dead raider just outside Sanctuary? I’m pretty sure it’s been there every time I’ve watched somebody start a playthrough, and it was there when I started mine. Seems a bit more than just coincidence.
4:08 "astronomically low, those are the odds. nearly impossible", except that he was sent there by Mama Murphey because the minute men own him. its like you didnt even play the game
True, i usually left Dogmeat there cuz i didnt want him to get hurt. But once i went to rescue Preston WITH Dogmeat and Mama Morphy started talking about Dogmeat. I was like whaaaaaaa?! Thats cool!!!!
people say it was the feud between real world leaders that caused the launching of the nukes but in reality it's the gnomes who dropped them the gnukes
Anecdotal evidence for institute dogmeat: in my most recent playthrough I finally decided to have a companion, I chose Cait as early as I could and sent dogmeat to sanctuary before even level 10. Anyway, i eventually got to Diamond city and started the Kellogg quest, and after I broke in to his house and found some evidence, Nick told me to have Dogmeat track the smell… The only way Nick could’ve known Dogmeat ever existed or if I even encountered him at all would be if the institute had planned on it for a long time, as Nick even remembers the name unprompted Also when I stepped outside dogmeat was right there waiting, last I checked he was in sanctuary… teleportation?
you called a board a machete around 1:30. pay more attention man. dont let those things slip and call it a day. be more professional, and your content will be even better.
the problem Moa is that in this video it is shown twice and the second time is even closer, and he probably had even more time to look at it as he was editing the video. not saying he made a bad video just because of that but if he takes a little more time to take those little mistakes out only shows his professionalism, making the channel better and get more people to subscribe to it.
But....Dogmeat was part of the Preston Garvey crew, wasn't he? When you rescue them in the museum, Mama Murphy is the one who tells you his name, and goes on to say that Dogmeat brought someone to help them. He wasn't just randomly at Red Rocket or coincidentally a good boy, he was searching for someone to help the Garvey crew and was a good boy probably because of being raised by them.
Brandon Welsh I think you’re right. In one of the many corpses I found in the game, one had a baby stroller with a teddy bear in it. I doubt this lady was pushing around a teddy bear all the time
While Dogmeat's presence does seem quite strange, the odds of it are somewhat irrelevant, as Mama Murphy talks about his meeting you as fate, almost as if Dogmeat is something like the mysterious stranger in a way.
I like to think that each dog meat is hyper-intelligent, for a dog, due to mutations and/or radiation exposure. Especially fallout 4 dogmeat. He seems to be very aware of his surroundings and the things he can do. also why do people always forget that Preston's group sent dogmeat to go find help? That's why it was kind of convenient for him to be there
Actually Dogmeat is something else. Mama Murphy claims that she knows Dogmeat from his earlier days, when she was known as Murphy the Madwoman (for tearing off a raider head with her bare hands. Yeah, I don't buy that part either.). Well, Muprhys younger days was. If I go on the safe side and say that Murphy is 60, that was still about 40 years ago. According to pedigree.com, 20 years for a german shepherd is 145 years for a human. However, Dogmeat is not a synth, since he does not drop a synth component (Sturges does, despite him being essential). So what's going on with this seemingly biologically immortal hound?
When Mama Murphy tells tales of unbelievable triumph, she is actually breaking the fourth wall and poking at the game mechanics. You can kill someone with your fists and have their head come off like a rock’m sock’m robot. As with her story about killing a deathclaw with nothing but a pipe pistol and one bullet, this is referencing the fact that any and all humanoid settlers can fire weapons endlessly with only one bullet in their inventory, as well as not being able to be killed by anything besides the main character. A settler can defeat a deathclaw with one bullet. As for dogmeat, He has been around forever in the fallout universe (120+ human years from F1 to F4) much like Maiq The Liar of The Elder Scrolls. Coincidentally, a cat. Maiq claims to be a descendant of the previously known Khajiit with identical names, but as he often lies and taps the fourth wall like Mama Murphy, one is left to speculate their own version of the truth.
planescaped He was in the first Fallout as well. That’s where I get the idea that (if it is the same dog) he is over 120 years old. The time gap between Fallout 1 and Fallout 4.
I think Dogmeat is one of teo things, either he's a dog belonging to a recently deceased settler or a dog that is wild but is friendly, this isn't unheard of among dog rescuers in eastern European countries.
Dogmeat is a pre-war ghoul. The fur covers up his scars. He hangs around vaults because he's used to helping survivors from other vaults. In his experience, people who come from vaults treat him better than other people in the wasteland so he has traveled throughout the wasteland searching for vaults with new people coming out.
I agree that Dogmeat could be an especially well-preserved Pre-War Dog, and I think it's a more than likely since Dogmeat knows Mamma Murphy AND our good friend Nick Valentine. As such, I like your theory and it is now my headcannon.
@YayDude123 maybe a dog version of Gary, immortal dogs that were released into the wasteland, kinda like the cat vault that opened after some timer ended
@YayDude123 actually wigs are a thing... but sometimes you just can't remove items from dead bodies. it's like the lit lantern issue, can't pick it up.
During the time that the Sole Survivor was cryogenically frozen in Vault 111, Dogmeat assisted Nick Valentine on a number of cases, and also accompanied Preston Garvey and his group of settlers on their way to Concord. When the group was ambushed by raiders, Preston Garvey sent Dogmeat to search for help in nearby Sanctuary Hills, who has since been patiently waiting at the Red Rocket truck stop for someone to come along and lend a hand.
The mannequins are there to scare the player into thinking it’s an NPCs. It’s proven itself effective on me many times. But clearly the writers had some fun with it
Father reveals that he remotely released you from your cryopod. The terminals in vault 111 reveal that the cryopods of every resident in the vault were remotely shut down (i.e. not shut down from within the vault) thereby killing everyone except for the player. So father killed them all and likely ordered the players' wife/husband killed.
Kellogg wasn't meant to kill the spouse, it was a last resort type death in order to obtain clean DNA (Via Shaun). If you talk to Father, he is sad that his parent was killed but it wasn't supposed to happen that way
The mannequins might be a nod to the Weeping Angels from Dr. Who. This is my own personal take, but what if mutation/Old Gods/both were responsible for turning real people into predatory mannequins? A smart-virus that when administered into the victim, turns their composition into matter that mimics plastic, and allows the converted subject to solidify in the presence of a threat (a well-armed adventurer.) It seems to only have a taste for humans, and a fascination with the concept of vanity. I'm high as fuck, but I'm sure some of you already concluded that.
The second theory couldnt work as even after becoming the leader of the institute bio science says thatthe apes are their first and when you kill dogmeat he doesent have a synth conponent. Other unkillable synths like (spoilers) sturges even have one even though he is essential. Ontop of that he is well trained because of mama murphy and the rest of the minute men admit to accompanying dogmeat. Mama murphy admits to sending dogmeat out so it is more likely she sent out dogmeat after seeing you with her sight. thats why when you go kill all the raiders and meet her the first thing she says is "youre a man out of time" then dogmeat lays by her showing that she was his "owner" before you were.
I like that dogmeat theory, considering dogmeat is immortal and cannot be killed, he often wanders off and is unable to be found (perhaps making institute reports), is able to carry a weight well more than any normal dog would be able to, often get the "dogmeat found something" notice as if it was planted there and he already knew where to find it.
I remember the Dunwich Office Building from Fallout 3. It was probably the most striking thing in that game. You just don't expect to come across and legit nightmare haunted ruin with a secret underground room filled with deep, droning, humming and a weird statute. There are some paranormal aspects to Fallout 3/4. And I actually like it, so long as it is kept low key and doesn't get too crazy.
That dogmeat one would have been a FANTASTIC twist. You meet Shaun, and he tells u he just releases you to "see what would happen" the sole survivor confronts him, saying he would just release us to die in the wasteland? Shaun stares for a moment, "I was with you dad... every step of the way.... you just didn't know it"
Actually since Dogmeat has been a companion in all the numbered fallout games, we can conclude that he is immortal. Dogmeat exists to find a guide postwar "heroes" on their journey, thus ensuring that, in fact, war never changes.
I think a more logical theory is Dogmeat is the god of companionship, which explains him being in every game because he appears as a german shepherd to those that need him most
I was thinking something like this too. That dogmeat, being a companion in every game, may be the good counter god to the malevolent Lovecraftian one that is referenced in 3 and 4.
Mama Murphy sent him. She explains that if you talk to her in the museum in concord when you take the mission to grab a fusion core for the power armor.
Cait and Trashcan Carla share same manner of speech; "Keep your shirt on" etc. They need to be related. The mannequin only move when people are not watching and are a faction.
I've always liked the theory that in every single fallout game, the main character is actually a synth. In fallout for, when you join the Institute, its said that all the synths have a system installed called V.A.T.S. well, I think it was just those special synths that were the most human.
Dogmeat isn't a synth. The Minutemen sent Dogmeat to find help. Sturges is ALWAYS essential, but he has a synth component, therefore it would make sense that any essential synth, even if not stated to be a synth, would have a component. That theory is absolute trash and full of holes.
I think the minutemen did send Dog meat for help, Mama Murphy knows about the dog.. she must have either met this dog or seen him in a vision. i think dogmeat was with the Preston garvy crew at one time i dont know when though, id like to know if theres any evidence of dogs having been in thier old camp in the Quincy ruins. .. Sturges is a synth thats true but like Danse he does not know hes a synth.. also Sturges used to be a Atom Cat.. also atom cats garage is not too far from the quicny ruins.. also the red rocket where you find dogmeat reminds Sturges of his old home in Atomcats garage. sturges will coment on how he thinks the old gas station would be a nice place to live as a home..
Dogmeat might be the same Dogmeat we meet in Fallout 3. Perhaps the canon ending of Fallout 3 is the Lone Wanderer sacrificing themselves for the Capital Wasteland, which would result into Dogmeat travelling North, eventually meeting the Sole Survivor. I'd like to believe this one is true.
I heard a line from Mama Murphey talking about dogmeat in the quest in the museum of freedom; she was saying somthing along the line of how dogmeat saved them and lead help to them. At first I thought it was just her spouting one of her "Jet Lines" again seeing this and thinking about the story behind Mama murphey im beginning to think it was prestons group that send dogmeat out for help, maybe because of the attack we encounter in concord?
The most remarkable thing about Dogmeat is that there is no way to turn him away. Like, there is no way to say "no, I don't want a companion" to the dog.
My theory on dogmeat is that he is some scrapped experiment by the institute has lost the ability to keep tabs on it. This is because when you first meet the father he seems surprised at all that you made it to him, let alone survived, I don’t think he planned on you having a guide to help you
❤ epic love for Nate
Is this love bait?
Victory Royale
@Destiny's Dungeon That's an old dog then
I am blessed to have the same name as this amazing man

Its quite unnerving to walk into a room and there's 15 to 20 mannequins stood in the room for no apparent reason.
1987mrbenn rex is dog meat confirmed
Especially when the mannequins are all staring directly at you
I have a serious phobia of those bastards. I found one kn a Poloski Preservation Shelter in Far Harbor and had to stop playing the game. I hate those fucking things.
I always shoot them
Left-2-Write the mannequins scare you more than ghouls and deathclaws? Damn

Better than mine….❤️
Imagine if Bethesda had made it so if you walk into a room full of mannequins, there's a slight chance they all come to life and just swarm you. That would be terrifying.
Get the Whispering Hills Mod, you might just get your wish.
Well, the best you can get without mods is a room full of mannequins and among them there is a gen 2 synth hiding
Or if whenever all 20 of them are out of the frame, only 19 would reappear when you look at them again. One will vanish every single time, and it might take you a while to notice.

@@wallamazoo01 the point is: that shit is creepy as fuck, bro

Sturges Is a synth too though. Just because he came from Quincy doesn't mean Dogmeat isn't a synthetic dog.

Agreed Gandalf, she calls him a free spirit, but knows good people when he meets them
Dogmeat isnt a spy nor a synth, it's been said that synth animals have started not too long ago and they are close to perfecting the gorillas and before they only finished the crows, also dogmeat always roamed around the commonwealth helping people in need from master to master until he met the minutemen and ran to look for help and saw red rocket for supplies or anyone then found you
If you don't meet him, Nick will introduce you to him during the search for Kellogg's frosted flakes.

Löwenstolz Trumpet oh no i am the 76th person to like this...
I just realized...
How in the first theory is there a price of paper underwater?!

Dogmeat is not a stray. Nick Valentine had worked with him, at least that what Nick says. Plus the minute man in concord set him out for according to Mama Murphy
Destroyer no she saw him finding someone he wasn't with them
Theres already an explanation for dogmeat.
Title: 5 theories that are actually terrifying
Number 2: mama Murphy has a son
*boo*
Ajax AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
But he is a raider
Like in I am legend
Well that is depressing…
Another possibility for Dogmeat:
When leaving Sanctuary across the bridge towards Concord, the sole survivor will find a fresh corpse of a raider and mutated dog. Since the bodies are so fresh, maybe Dogmeat was with that raider who was his owner (in this hypothesis) until his untimely end. This would also explain why Dogmeat would go to Red Rocket, which is one of the closest building to the corpses.
Aristo Demos the minute men sent dogmeat to get help
@@AllweHaveIsTime Maybe I missed something, but I did not see anything to support this conjecture aside from Mama Murphy's comment about Dogmeat, but I attributed that to her fortune-telling abilities. Lucas Biermann but let's be honest. From afar it does look like hugenormous machete. Mistakes like that are easy to make :)
the problem Moa is that in this video it is shown twice and the second time is even closer, and he probably had even more time to look at it as he was editing the video. not saying he made a bad video just because of that but if he takes a little more time to take those little mistakes out only shows his professionalism, making the channel better and get more people to subscribe to it.
So you're not gonna talk about the gnomes murdering people or teddy bears doing what ever they do?
Gaming King Nate has covered killer bears. It is a copycat killer, leaving scenes of art.
Seriously, very questionable Teddy bear behavior in the Commonwealth. Gnomes, teddy bears, and souvenir sloths are the true evil in the 'wealth
Aren't teddy bears meant to be stand ins for children's corpses/skeletons?
Brandon Welsh i dont think children do surgery and also die while doing it.
Brandon Welsh I think you’re right. In one of the many corpses I found in the game, one had a baby stroller with a teddy bear in it. I doubt this lady was pushing around a teddy bear all the time
6:23 sooooo the night mother, and you’re the listener. Got it.
Sasha omg skyrim :0
....yeah pretty much XD
Or Mephala
Theodore Howard is incapable of originality.
Dogmeat is kind of a supernatural spirit itself, seeing that he was also in Fallout 2 and Fallout 3.
planescaped He was in the first Fallout as well. That’s where I get the idea that (if it is the same dog) he is over 120 years old. The time gap between Fallout 1 and Fallout 4.
I believe Mama Murphy could have ripped off a raider's head. Buffout is a chem in the Fallout world, after all.
When did Nick have time to get to know Dogmeat?
I think Dogmeat is one of teo things, either he's a dog belonging to a recently deceased settler or a dog that is wild but is friendly, this isn't unheard of among dog rescuers in eastern European countries.
Dogmeat is a pre-war ghoul. The fur covers up his scars. He hangs around vaults because he's used to helping survivors from other vaults. In his experience, people who come from vaults treat him better than other people in the wasteland so he has traveled throughout the wasteland searching for vaults with new people coming out.
Michael Hall ghouls lose their hair or fur dumbass
I agree that Dogmeat could be an especially well-preserved Pre-War Dog, and I think it's a more than likely since Dogmeat knows Mamma Murphy AND our good friend Nick Valentine. As such, I like your theory and it is now my headcannon.
Okay...? Dogmeat seems like a morbid joke on the fact that people eat dogs in Fallout due to food needs. It's probably a common name.
@YayDude123 maybe a dog version of Gary, immortal dogs that were released into the wasteland, kinda like the cat vault that opened after some timer ended
@YayDude123 actually wigs are a thing... but sometimes you just can't remove items from dead bodies. it's like the lit lantern issue, can't pick it up.
ok, but for #3...
...there's a mannequin right next to those notes and stealth boys. What if it's NOT a person, but rather...well....#1?
Dogmeat is a member of Preston Garvey's party that was sent ahead to find Sanctuary. Its clearly stated in the game lore.
Should we question why you've named your character George W. Bush ?
No.
Geroge W. Bush*
Bush did 10/23
Idiot savant
[OSK] B1az3kin I named mine George H.W Bush
It wasn't luck that you find dog meat, mama Murphy sent him, talk to her when you first talk with Garvey
Also dogmeats bloodline/the same dog has been around for a long time unchanged
Murphy is a crackhead
Souljahwitch Well, she's a jethead, not a crackhead.
Mama Murphy does mention him tbh.
The fact that DOGMEAT is found at a RED ROCKET gas station is still one of the favorite dirty references in fallout
Umm, what is the ref?
The mannequins are there to scare the player into thinking it’s an NPCs. It’s proven itself effective on me many times. But clearly the writers had some fun with it
Tss: * brings dogmeat to diamond city*
Literally everyone: cute doggo
Dogmeat:* in mind (soon I will kill all these people for the institution)* Borf
A smart-virus that when administered into the victim, turns their composition into matter that mimics plastic, and allows the converted subject to solidify in the presence of a threat (a well-armed adventurer.)
It seems to only have a taste for humans, and a fascination with the concept of vanity.
I'm high as fuck, but I'm sure some of you already concluded that.
Yes and no. Doctor Who reference, but not the Weeping Angels. They're controlled by the Nestine Consciousness, the living plastic.
Hell of a fucking mutation
ha your so cool and quirky your high lets get a show of hands for who gives a fuck.
Mr. VOID-OUT they are a bunch of SCP-173’s.
I am also high as fuck and you're scaring the shit outta me
The second theory couldnt work as even after becoming the leader of the institute bio science says thatthe apes are their first and when you kill dogmeat he doesent have a synth conponent.
Sean Rathsack or dogmeat was the eyes of mama Murphy
You kill Dogmeat the same way you kill Sturges: Mods + Hacks.
Cuthulu in the falloutverse is the best/scariest thing
The guy with a name it is weird, there are references if you look.
Why is lovecraft lore so interesting? It has such a mystic and horrific vibe that no other fictional gods really have.
Idiot Sandwich well, it made by mentally unstable dude who base them from his own phobia and "exotic" stuff
Just Noob he was normal in his time though. Also the mythos is kinda close to our own world.
Take a shot every time you read either the word "eldritch" or "abomination."
Absynthe is a hell of a drug.
Did you intend to answer your own question?
That dogmeat one would have been a FANTASTIC twist. You meet Shaun, and he tells u he just releases you to "see what would happen" the sole survivor confronts him, saying he would just release us to die in the wasteland? Shaun stares for a moment, "I was with you dad... every step of the way.... you just didn't know it"
Where Dogmeat puts your stuff?
Give him a plush toy or a ball, and he occassionally play with it. :)
You don't have to give Dogmeat a toy for him to play with a toy. He sort of magically has them in anyway
Actually since Dogmeat has been a companion in all the numbered fallout games, we can conclude that he is immortal. Dogmeat exists to find a guide postwar "heroes" on their journey, thus ensuring that, in fact, war never changes.
Mama Murphy sent Dogmeat to sanctuary because she foresaw him bringing back help...
And that’s why she knows his name
*Is holding a plank of wood*
"Holding a machete!"
Bruh... Wha?
I think a more logical theory is Dogmeat is the god of companionship, which explains him being in every game because he appears as a german shepherd to those that need him most
I was thinking something like this too. That dogmeat, being a companion in every game, may be the good counter god to the malevolent Lovecraftian one that is referenced in 3 and 4.
Mama Murphy sent him. She explains that if you talk to her in the museum in concord when you take the mission to grab a fusion core for the power armor.
dog spelled backwards is god. checks out.
he was a husky or blue heeler in fallout 3
Dogmeat is the king king good boy doggo
Maybe the mannequins are a secret batch of synths that were all shut down at the same time because the institute discovered a bunch of them escaped.
Cait and Trashcan Carla share same manner of speech; "Keep your shirt on" etc. They need to be related. The mannequin only move when people are not watching and are a faction.
I wish Bethesda would make a whole game about the Lovecraftian monsters
That would be Epicly Awesome !
👍
I've always liked the theory that in every single fallout game, the main character is actually a synth. In fallout for, when you join the Institute, its said that all the synths have a system installed called V.A.T.S. well, I think it was just those special synths that were the most human.
yea but I'm pretty sure you can't use VATS until you pick up the pipboy when you escape vault 111
Dogmeat is a guardian angel.
As others have stated:
Not all confirmed synths have synth components, so....
**Sees thumbnail**
I am absolutely *S P O O K E D*
T!Tookz you have git guh-knomed
The most remarkable thing about Dogmeat is that there is no way to turn him away. Like, there is no way to say "no, I don't want a companion" to the dog.
My theory on dogmeat is that he is some scrapped experiment by the institute has lost the ability to keep tabs on it. This is because when you first meet the father he seems surprised at all that you made it to him, let alone survived, I don’t think he planned on you having a guide to help you
Well looks like I'll be cancelling my plans again for the next 12:39 minutes.
